it's failed to connect via HTTP proxy in 3.22.2-rc1. can't get the correct port number in EPSV response.

this patch will fix this issue.

This is issue only happens when moving directories on the remove server.

Directory/File Structure: root root/app root/magento root/magento/app root/magento/app/file.txt

When I click-and-drag the root/magento/app directory up 1 level into root, I would expect the root/app directory to contain file.txt. Instead, FZ is nesting the app directories so I have root/app/app/file.txt.

This is easily reproducible and I do not believe it is intended behavior.

Makes magento/extension upgrades very difficult and just destroyed my dev site.

While transferring files from my files to the files of my server, certain files are failing to transfer.

Basic info, This is a mod for our ARK server hosted by PingPerfect. This mod is already installed, these files are attempting to overwrite the existing ones as well as downloading new files from the update. The issue only appears on certain files.

Other admins/moderators have attempted to resolve this issue by doing the update themselves and it has worked without issue. They also use the FileZilla client, there were no failed transfers on the same mod with the exact same update. I have done two other mod updates within the last three days without issue.

It is the same the entire way up, only 34 files successfully transferred and 501 files that failed.

When trying to connect to non default ports it will work if you use HOST:PORT, but not if you put the port in the "Port" textbox, whether I use Quickconnect or a pre-defined server, both ignore the port.

Hi, Using Filezilla client software, but I am unable to connect to anything through it! I keep getting an error message saying Connection attempt failed with "EAI_FAIL - Nonrecoverable failure in name resolution". I have disabled my Antivirus, and also tried when firewall was disabled and still get the same results. I tried using the Network configuration wizard, but that can't connect either! Today I updated FileZilla to the latest offered version 3.22.2. After that it will not launch.

Description:

1. See system and crash log in attached file
2. Working user account is non admin

3. After launching the previously installed FileZilla-Version it automatically offered an update to the named version. I chose to update.

4. After this update procedure FileZilla would not launch.

5. Checking all Gatekeeper and SIP-settings - even if disabling - the app would not launch.

6. Redownloading the bundle-installer, installing. But here also app will not launch.

7. Redownloading non installer, but the file FileZilla_3.22.2_macosx-x86.app.tar.bz2. Moving the unpacked app to "Programs". Still app will not launch.

8. Repaired permissions through terminal. Restarted system. FileZille will not launch.

9. Started app from download-location. This time app launches with OS-warning. On choosing open anyway FileZilla will not appear with main window.

10. Logged out and logged in with admin account.

11. On launching FileZilla the OS prompted a warning that there was a problem launching FileZilla. The crash-log is attached to this report.

I never had such a behaviour with any FileZilla-iteration before. I always downloaded the new compressed app-file, unpacked, moved to programs and launched it without error.

I'm running Fedora 24 with Gnome 3.20.4 on a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. Filezilla opens to a very tiny (and unusable) window that cannot resize or maximize. There's no "maximize" icon and double-clicking the menu bar does nothing.

Quick Googling led me to similar issues on the GTK side, and a patch was submitted and accepted upstream some time ago. More info on that here:

My short-term solution was to use the Gnome Tweak Tool to set my window resolution to "1", resize the Filezilla window and do what I need to do, then use the Tweak Tool to reset the resolution to "2" so I can go about my day-to-day operations. Because this was already patched in GTK I'm assuming there's something that might need to be addressed in Filezilla specifically. Thanks!

Since i upgrade FileZilla > 3.20.0, i'm unable to use SFTP protocol to connect Linux host (last test failed with 3.22.2): message "Unable to connect host" I downgrade my version to 3.20.0 and it's work well.

It happened in both 3.22.2.1 and 3.22.2.2. I almost will use FileZilla client to do the photo-downloading job every day from my smartphone in which a FTP server app will run. After downloading finished, I then will delete all the source pictures in server. While the deleting-job is running, if the server app works fine, everything will be OK; if the server app is unexpectedly shut down due to the phone's power-saving mode or my quiting touch, the FileZilla client will give a error message in message log area such as "connection failed". In such condition, One or several downloaded and locally stored files will be modified: the sizes turn into 0, which means the file bodies are lost and only names are kept. And after the server app is re-run and connetion is re-built, the names of those 0-size files will show again in the transfer queue area, not the queued-files page, but the failed-transfers page, it seems the client wants to download those pictures again from server, but failed because they also have been deleted from server already. Then I have to face the situation: I lose these pictures forever because the source in server has be earsed and the local copies have been modified into 0-size.

Hello, I'm running Filezilla FTP Client version 3.22.2.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10 and it used to run perfectly until about a week ago. An error caused the program to fail and ever since, I've been getting an error message on startup and then another error message when I try to pull up my Site Manager. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to correct any file issues but I'm still getting the errors. I'm hoping that I might find a solution by opening a ticket, as I need to be able to use Site Manager. I've attached screenshots of the error messages.

everytime I try to upload anything to my server, my explorer.exe hangs. There's no Windows event log or an error message. So, after uploading, I have to stop the explorer.exe task and restart it. Is there a solution to fix it?

If I choose to run client right after installation then it starts up correctly, but any subsequential start of client produces crash dump immediately after starting the executable.

If I choose to reinstall the story repeats.

Using a HiDPI screen (3200x1800), almost everything looks great.

There is only a small issue: the icons in the toolbar are very small.

Have been using the fzdefaults.xml file to point to a default location for the different FTP sites.

The setting are not being read correct by version 3.22.2.2. Had to revert back to version 3.20.0

FileZilla was working fine, until it suddenly stopped working. I’ve tried resetting my bluehost cpanel password repeatedly, but the below continues to occur. I’ve typed the password very slowly and carefully. I’m inputting the correct password. I am 100% certain about that. Recent VCS versions of FileZilla client show a warning message right upon start which seems to be associated with crashes / core dumps that sporadically take place after establishing connections.

Both the error message and traces of the crash are attached to this report. Debug symbols were disabled, let me know if this isn't enough. The message is the same when wxWidgets are compiled against GTK 3 or 2. The crashes were seen under GTK 2 only so far which may or may not be by incident.

Seen compiling 8034 against wxWidgets from current master on Arch Linux x86_64.

I am running Windows 7 Professional and Filezilla 3.23.0 64 bit. This issue was not present in 3.22.2.2.

When I upgraded versions as mentioned above, I was unable to start Filezilla. The process would not launch yet I could see it in Windows Task Manager taking about 13% CPU. I waited about 10 minutes but nothing happened so I killed the process.

After playing with filezilla.xml, I noticed that this only happens when "Messagelog position" is set to 2 - set to 0 or 1 is fine.

3.23.0 was working fine with sftp logon with key to the same server. now 3.23.0.1 fails, making it unusable.

I recently upgraded to FileZilla 3.9.0.2. Every time I start it up and use the Site Manager to connect, I get 1 and sometimes 2 copies of a popup window with the following error: File 'C:\Users\Karen\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\filezilla.xml~' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation completed successfully.) Each popup window is accompanied by a loud warning sound; each has to be cleared separately before I can do anything else. They also sometimes pop up when I merely open Site Manager. I also sometimes see the popup when I close the client. I attach a screen shot of the error popup. Other than this, FileZilla client seems to operate normally. I am currently working on an SFTP-Proxy project and I noticed a bug in your software. When closing a file handle, according to the ​SFTP specification version 12, page 35 it states the following:

The response to this request will be a SSH_FXP_STATUS message. Note that on some server platforms even a close can fail. For example, if the server operating system caches writes, and an error occurs while flushing cached writes, the close operation may fail.

In my case this is exactly what happens. When a file is not permitted through the proxy, the CLOSE will fail. The SFTP_Client from the command line in Fedora 25 respects that and will display an error if the upload is not permitted.

However, FileZilla will mark the upload as a success, even though it may have failed. The only way to verify this is to look into the directory, where the failed file will not appear. However, this could be very confusing for our users and can lead to data loss.

The timestamp bug is still when you trie to move files from last version of Filezilla (as FTP client) to a SFTP server (in this case Tectia).

I upgraded from FileZilla 3.7.3 to 3.8.0. Upon startup, I receive the message that FileZilla is unable to find its resources, suggesting that this can be overcome by setting the FZ_DATADIR environment variable (presumably to point at \Program Files (x86)\Filezilla\resources) or by providing the --datadir command-line option. Neither of these help. Indeed, using the --datadir command-line option posts an error message "Unknown long option 'datadir'".

Downgrading to 3.7.3 provides a workaround.

up until the most recent update I have not had a problem using FileZilla. After this update it wont allow me to connect to the server. It keeps saying

I have since installed and configured two other free FTP programmes and they have successfully accessed the website hosting server.

If you are using synchronised browsing and you double click on a folder that is on the local machine but not on the remote machine and select "Cancel" off the popup about synchronised browsing; if you then double click on any folder in the local pane you get a message "Cannot change directory, there is already a synchronised browsing operation in progress.

The only way you can then change folder is to double click on the remote server pane.

Following error is displayed in FileZilla while download a file:

Error: Failed to open "X:\folder\file.ext" for writing Error: File transfer failed

The error is actually from Windows 10 because it cannot create the foreign character of the Mac computer.

So you should check the filename for Mac characters and either change the error message or prompt the user to automatically change the characters in the file so it can be downloaded.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install filezilla client, default settings.
2. Go to Edit -> Settings -> Transfers -> File Types
3. Select all extensions on the list
4. Click on "Remove"

If you are on Windows, it will remove only part of the list. You have to click "Remove" more times until the list is cleared. If you are on Linux (ubuntu tested) there will be an error, but it won't crash and you can continue deleting.

I can provide more info if you can't reproduce this problem.

Something is amiss with the latest release 3.10.0 of FileZilla. I have always downloaded and installed the latest version. Today when I did that, FileZilla stopped working. Can you let me know the fix, or point me to somewhere that I can download the previous version? I am still running the previous version on my backup laptop, and FileZilla works on that one. I try to open filezilla through unity in Ubuntu 12.04 and the program doesn't open. I tried several times, looked at system monitor and I see multiple instances open, if I close them all and try again nothing opens.

I tried via command line and it just hangs.

Every year, I upload a schedule.htm to my web site via filezilla. This year, when I opened filezilla, it had a latest version update (which I always do when given the option), and I then deleted old schedule, updated new schedule and I get the following: "404 not found, nginx/1.2.7". I have searched filezilla forums several ways and each time I get 0 results. I have contacted my server, deleted old htm files and re-uploaded. I have uninstalled and reinstalled filezilla, and no matter what I have tried, I continue to get this message and thus, cannot view my schedule. This affects my business, and as it is the start of a new year, this for me is a high priority.

When a file change dialog appears while the context menu is expanded the UI ceases to function until the application is left in the background for some time, or the application is forced to quit. Clicking any of the button options available on screen does nothing.

I tried downloading the client installer from the FileZilla website today, for the first time, from here:

This only started recently though I don't know exactly when. I have a USB drive with a volume name "K8IE"

When I plug K8IE into my laptop, a phantom volume is created called K8IE x where "x" is a numbered instance of this phantom drive. So now underneath my local volumes I am showing K8IE, K8IE 1, K8IE 2, K8IE 3, K8IE 4, &c.

The files on this USB drive only appear under the last of the instances, e.g., if K8IE 4 is the highest instance, I see my files under it but no files appear under the other instances.

The volumes are persistent. If I remove the K8IE volume, all of the volumes remain showing in the Filezilla local drive window, even after a refresh. I cannot delete these bogus volumes, either.

Before the last update I was able to drag a selected file from the Local site to my mail app to another app in the dock. I used this to mail files from Filezilla without having to go to Finder. Since the last update Filezilla will not let me drag files from there any more.

Renaming a file on a HP NonStop causes the new file name to include the folder name and the file to end up in parent folder. I think the log below explains the problem best.

When client is idle and disconnects, then you select a different remote directory from the directory-tree, it doesn't reconnect first. You have to wait for the timeout before it will reconnect, or manually disconnect and reconnect.

Since a while I encouter a bug with transferring files with Filezilla. I do not have this problem with other FTP programms (ie. CuteFTP pro), but I 'simply' prefer working with FileZilla :-)

When I transfer all files from a WordPress installation from the (external) server to an EMPTY folder on my pc, most of the times the wp-login.php files is not being transferred. I get an error message (see attachment 1) "Target file already exists" (although the folder was empty when I started the transfer).

When I click OK, the error message keeps coming back.

When Ik click Cancel, all other files are being transferred. In the end, the transfer is 'hanging' for a while (see attachement 2), after which I again get the error message.

When I click Cancel, I can see in the overview that the wp-login.php file has only been transferred partially (26 of 34 kB).

It is quite annoying as in this way the backups I make are never complete. To achieve that I have to manually copy the original wp-login.php file from the corresponding wp version into the folder where my backup is and overwrite the 26 kB file.

What is going wrong and what can I do to solve this problem?

From last some year, I used filezila latest version for connect with server and file uploads to my root folder.

As I used lot of server links, however I thought to save my server credential to filezilla. So I planned to import xml file to filezilla.

After I got to know, my server credential got hacked and hackers used my space to put some unauthorized content.

Its very serious issue for you and me. I complaint to service provider and he come to know some Chinese hackers hack all this information through filezilla.

So let me know, what is filezilla stand on this suspicious incident happened with me?

If you open more than 2 upload transfers simultaneously folder names are renamed and upload failes.

Tested and failed on OS X 10.9.5 and Windows 7 Pro, everytime with the latest stable build of FZ 3.24.0

Because the problem is not happening every time (maybe it differs with high and low network latency also) you can check it on an testaccount on my ftp server. Please write mail to get the credentials, server address and data for testing.

The problem is happening more often with 10 simultaneous transfers.

Hello after upgrading to 3.24.0 I am unable to connect to a site with an untrusted certificate. Similar tickets 11129 11131 and 11152 were closed REJECTED.

These bugs were REJECTED on the basis that a valid server certificate was required BUT IN PREVIOUS RELEASES CONNECTION WAS ALLOWED AFTER A DIALOG WAS SHOWN.

I would like the dialog RESTORED so that I can approve a connection to a shared server -- or a link to a previous release so I can access my business-related server. Thank you for your quick work on this.

While uploading files to any ftp server PC hangs and not mouse moves slowly. Once upload completed all back to normal. Using windows 10 pro 64bit with latest updates installed and using latest version of filezilla.

Hello, I need to connect to a board with a basic ftp which accept only one connection. Then, I selected Limit Number of simultaneous connections = 1. The problem is that FileZilla opens one connection for retrieving directory listing... but doesn't close it. So, when I want to download a file, a new connection tries to establish, but fails as the former one is not closed.

So the parameter "Number of simultaneous connections" is not achieve !

Is there a way to solve this ?

Hi, I had to stop using the program because of the following: when I upload a text file the size is different, I do not know why this happens with the text files, when uploading it makes me good its size, but 3 seconds later it changes Its size on the server, what will happen ????

When transferring a PNG file to a linux webserver, the PNG files lose 1 bit of data, making them corrupt. When transferring other image files, no corruption takes place.

FileZilla crashes when I try to delete 350,000 some things from the to do list

When the client is started automatically from another program, using command line options to specify the server, the client will not limit the number of connections to 1. When connected to a server that supports only 1 ftp connection at a time, no file transfers are possible.

This worked in client V2.2.32 (but this older version had other issues). When i use the ServerManager as a test, i can limit the number of connections to 1, then everything works, but this is not a solution, i cannot use the ServerManager for all possible automatically connections.

Hi. We have updated Filezilla but each time we open, it shows an error. And the settings of width of colours, and last folder opened, no longer get remembered.

Filezilla.xml could not be loaded. No document found at offset 7887.

When updating the app on a Mac from the pop up menu at start up, the app is unzipped into the Applications folder with the name appended with a numeral. This is counterintuitive & highly crappy. I don't understand the though process. It's beyond comprehension. Now you have two (or more as most people just keep clicking on the Update button and the dumb updater just keeps unzipping more appended versions into the Applications folder) versions with different names, and you have to go toss the old app & rename the new one or your shortcuts fail. Brilliant.

The app should quit before the file is unzipped, the old app should be deleted, and the new version started.

Within the "Files currently being edited" dialog, the bottom buttons include:

• &p → Upload
• &p → Open file

The buttons need separate underlines (or whatever they're called!)

When i go to settings -> debug and set a debug level (e.g. 1 or 4) and restart the application, that setting is not saved. But all other settings are saved correctly e.g. the switch to show the debug menu.

When I leave FileZilla for a while during updating sessions on my website, 3.22.2.2 since updating to version this message gets displayed: Status: Disconnected from server Response: 421 Timeout - try typing a little faster next time Error: GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated. It doesn't stop it reconnecting or affect FileZilla's performance .. it is just that I have not seen this error before and wonder if you know about it?

1.login the filezilla and the connection to Linux server is OK. 2.add one file in remote folder on connection server. 3.check the filezilla, the remote folder can't update and display the latest file. 4.I must close the filezilla then relogin again can see the latest file. it's so crash for me. so I report it. thanks very much.

This is a bug with Windows, but I believe FileZilla can do something about it as well. Duplicate of #10968 but it's rejected and I wanted to provide more information on how to trigger this.

1) Perform a transfer and get a notification about its completion 2) Perform a second transfer that completes while the notification is still up 3) Taskbar and other Explorer elements (win+e, win+d, win+r, win) are now frozen for what seems to be 90 seconds (however, alt+tab works). One cannot work on the computer anymore for as long it is frozen.

If you do a transfer while the notification is up that doesn't complete until the notification is gone, everything works as intended.

The only way to prevent this is to turn off notifications for FileZilla completely.

I have always had a problem getting updates to apply after "Help->check for updates" downloaded a new update.

I believe I have figured out what is causing that, though. When I start FileZilla, I usually go ahead and connect to a site immediately using "File->Site manager". Then later, after I finish what I am doing I do the "Check for updates" or the program itself may notify me there is an update available. After the update downloads, it almost always fails to install on its own. This time though, I tried to apply the update BEFORE I connected to a site and the updated applied successfully.

At this point I can't go back and try it again without uninstalling FileZilla and intentionally installing an older version, but I wanted to pass this along to you for investigation. This has always been a troublesome problem for me. I like to use FileZilla. It works very well. Thank you.

I create a new directory, but it does not appear in the directories list. Pressing F5 does not help eaither. Re-login did not help - directory is still not listed. I go and check with the hosting FTP manager - directory is there. I closed down and opened Filezilla, logged again and directory was bisible.

Hello everyone~ What does " Multiple-level wildcards are not supported" means? I'm encountering this message when I'm attempting to delete a file the file is undeletable. But after all, I can delete the file when I access ftp with WinSCP with the same account, I can't find any information on the internet about this,It would very thankful for helping me!

I try to select a key in .ssh from the GUI seen below, but the private key file and host file don't show up. I can work around this by either drag and dropping the key from nautilus to the filezilla GUI or just writing the path of the key. But it would be still nice to just see the keys. Yes hidden files are enabled and yes I selected the tab all files.

For some reason uploads start to fail soon as the successful transfer count reaches 14,385 (or close to this number).

This happens both when a large directory holding in excess of 14,385 files is uploaded and also when several smaller uploads totalling more than 14,385 files are uploaded.

The only way I have found around this is to pause the upload when the successful upload count gets close to 14,300 then shutdown FileZilla to clear the successful transfer log count, re-open FileZilla and resume the transfer of files in the queue.

If there is a way around this I will appreciate someone telling me.

On my system, FileZilla Client 3.0.1 takes approximately 25 seconds to start. This time period is fairly constant whether or not the file is cached.

FileZilla 2.x had relatively short startup times.

IF A: is empty (no floppy), the arrows cannot get you passed the floppy..

if possible, a blank listing or a default (C:\) list could appear instead.

Sorry, prefer keyboard programs, but can use mouse if necessary.

I have my task bar attached to the top of my screen. When FileZilla opened the first time, the top of the FileZilla window was obstructed by the task bar (see the screenshot). In order to move the window, I have to unlock the task bar and then shrink it to uncover the menu bar of FileZilla.

Anytime I use FileZilla for moving a decent amount of files or largely sized files it just Times Out and won't get another good connection. This has been happening for the past 6 months, I should've reported sooner but I kept thinking it was fixed everytime I saw a fresh update. It's happened over various OS X versions as they keep making newer ones. It seems touchy and I haven't quite figured out how to fix this in a bypass sort of way.

So let's say I want to download a 1GB file from one of my servers, it is working just fine and then when it may get to, let's say, 40% it just pauses. Then it says Timed Out, continues to attempt reconnecting but fails. Some ways I've bypassed it have been: -Waiting 10 minutes to almost a week -Unprocessing the Queue and waiting, then Process it again -Disconnect, and waiting, then Reconnect -Restarting FileZilla Restarting my computer doesn't seem to fix it, as well as re-installing FileZilla, and I've also triedwiping the server data. This has happened on at least 4 seperate servers for me. And not all of the above work, like previously stated it's a weird bug and seems touchy. Some require multiple of the above to happen, sometimes it just takes a whole lot of time.

The servers run on professional hosts and have not reported any issues or downtimes and did not see why it was happening to me. I have spoken to other users on Windows and they haven't had issues using my servers.

I'm sorry, I searched a ticket about my problem but those I found didn't meet my expectations. I join a screen copie in order to be clear. The recap sizes displayed by Filezilla are consistent between local and distant site, but a far cry from reality. I don't understand this artefact because by clicking on each file, the size is good, but as soon as it is a folder, the value does not count up the total size of the folders inside.

I don't think it is a bug (because this question has probably been put to you) or if it's intentional, but it's, for me annoying :-(

I search your forum, your user guide, I did as well research on the internet and unfortunately nothing helped me. Unable to connect on most tries after upgrading to 3.24.1

"Directory retrieval" times out on most connection attempts.

On a couple of connects that were successful, subsequent changing directory resulted in similar problems.

Reverting to 3.24.0 removed the problem.

From the last update on I face an issue :

Filezilla disapeared from menu & dock I checked in pamac : it is installed

If I launch it via CLI it is functional.

It appears that strange hidden characters are at the very beginning of the desktop file.

Solution : edit /usr/share/applications/filezilla.desktop, remove the first [ of [Desktop Entry] and any character on the left, then rewrite the [ , and save.

Could the desktop file be amended ?

Until a recent update, I was having no trouble connecting to a FOSCAM camera, but now it fails. I've tried forcing active connections, but filezilla insists on going into passive mode. Can Filezilla be fixed to transfer every file successfully quietly? Every time I alt tab away from Filezilla to a browser or other program it takes over my taskbar and flashes at me until I click it. It just wants to let me know that the file I trust Filezilla to normally transfer successfully transferred successfully. Maybe it could just do this when it DOESN'T transfer a file successfully and leave us alone to go back to our work when it does?

I autohide my taskbar and it gets in my way every time I use the client. Why do we have to sit there and watch Filezilla operate when we could be using our time doing something better?

Why does it force me to acknowledge that it did what it's supposed to do in the first place, that it successfully transferred the file? Can't it just do that and not blink at me every single time?

You may know a good reason I haven't thought of for it to behave like this. But I've seen other clients not do this at all and I can't imagine any reason for it to behave in this way. Can Filezilla be fixed to stop flashing and taking over my taskbar every time I transfer a file?
