Thousands separator not displayed when set "use thousands separator" In filesize format pref pane.

Patch attached. Tested under macOS 10.13.6.

For most (p2p) programs this is a very easy option to add.

If option can only be set via manually writing to the settings text file, then on-board client options should be added for ease of use.

Reasons: 1. Privacy; account name becomes a part of the footprints for downloads.

2. Not everybody wants to write to their system drive. Personally since my power mac days tried to keep the system drive just for the system (using partition) and G4 days system drive independent of all work and personal files by directing them to alternate drives. Past 11 years used an mp3,1 upgraded 2 years ago with SSD system drive. I wish to keep writes restricted to system’s demands (run 24/7); other 4 larger drives for work and personal files.

When tabbed connections are available, and you select a tabbed connection other than the first one (before exiting) ... ... then (after restart) the directory tree pane of first tab is resized when you select it again.

Similar uncontrolled resizing happens when just playing with the pane layout selection. The sizes/positions should be memorized per option, so that the same picture is generated in each cycle.

New or changed files are randomly not being uploaded when inside folders and dragged over server.

on my MacBook Pro, macOS Mojave 10.4.2 when I transfer files with TLS my CPU is on 110% using FileZilla long time but earlier never noticed this.

When searching for Path does not contain and matching all for the search conditions. FillZilla stills walks the subdirectories even thought the top most directory already evaluates to false. This create a huge delay since the those directories have numerous sub directories and files.

While in Synchronized browsing and folder comparision is enabled, maybe it would be possible to add "Compare with ..." button that would download remote file and open both in external program (for example WinMerge). That would allow for really quick comparision of what changed in files.

Filezilla was working for about 4 days when I started to notice that the same files were send over and over. Watching is closer I see that a connection error appear, the resume counter was not updated and the file started to upload from a much earlier position. Later I see that this was a kind of loop as the connection error was always generated after a certain amount transferred data which was different for each file. After restart filezilla I noticed that all the transferable files where still in the list but the succes fully and non transferable file list were empty.

FileZilla gets into a state where I have a local file and a remote (SCP) file that I am attempting to download. I right-click the remote file and select Download. "Target file already exists" dialog pops up and I do not change options (default to Overwrite). Select OK button.

I get the following error: Status: Starting download of /home/bramankp/filename.here Command: get "filename.here" "C:\Users\paulb\Downloads\filename.here" Error: local: unable to open C:\Users\paulb\Downloads\filename.here Error: Critical file transfer error

If I simply select the local file and delete it (shift-Delete key, in my case) and attempt the operation again it downloads correctly. Downloading *again* I will get an option to Overwrite and no more error until the next time the client has timed out a connection to the server (I guess?) and I'll get the error again.

In the "Local site:" panes, request is to add a right-click menu item: "Show in Explorer"

The functionality would cause the Windows File Explorer to open in the appropriate directory that's already shown in the "Local site" pane.

The queue bar (Queued files, Failed transfers, Successful transfers) is still displayed in a "light-ish" way when using a dark theme. But it is darker then the default light theme, so that the black font is hard to read.

Using a modal dialog to prompt the user on startup to update the application is an extremely intrusive method of delivering updates.

You guys are continuously delivering updates, so the user is continuously being prompted to update every time they open the application.

It's an extra click and a chance to accidentally begin updating, when the user may be in a situation where they need to connect to a server as quickly as they possibly can.

There are many other options you could use that would be better...

• Display an icon somewhere on the application that the user can click on to deliver an update.
• Prompt on closing the application.
• Just let the user manually check for updates through the Help->Check for Updates menu option.

Steps to reproduce:

• connect to a server
• on the right (remote) panel, right-click on a folder and do "Download folder". Make sure you pick a folder that will take a while to download.
• While the files are being added to the queue and downloaded, right-click on another folder in the remote panel

Expected: the option "Download folder" in the dropdown menu should be available, and by clicking on it you should be able to appending also the new selected folder's content to the queue for download. There's no reason whatsoever why you shouldn't be able to do that just "because" queuing and/or downloading of files from another folder is in progress

Observed: the option "Download folder" is greyed out until the current download is finished.

This has now happened several times on W10. I open FileZilla Pro, and it prompts me to install a new version. When I do, it fails, saying it can't write the .exe - I suspect it's trying to update, and not closing the executing program.

I have to uninstall the old version and reinstall, and it's then necessary to re-enter the registration key.

FileZilla_3.39.0_win64-setup.exe works with explicit ftp over TLS if available on our FTP called - pnecftp001.gijima.com but with the latest two versions we are getting an error - 14:06:11 - Error:A certificate in the chain was signed using an insecure algorithm. 14:06:11 - Error: Received certificate chain could not be verified. Verification status is 2. 14:06:11 - Error:Could not connect to server. I have downgraded again so it can work but it is a problem.

For an entire day I was talking to tech support of a hosting company and trying to figure out what's wrong with my connection. Turns out I have so many keys attempting to be used that the server was denying access with this error response:

Error: Server sent disconnect message Error: type 2 (protocol error): Error: "Too many authentication failures" Error: Could not connect to server

If I removed my keys down to just 4 then I was able to connect. This is a huge pain and bug IMO since I should be able to specify on a per-site basis what key to use if needed like my IDE allows which doesn't run into a similar issue.

Possible solution options?

1) In the SFTP key page in settings allow me to click an "Edit Key" button or something that allows me to checkmark off what sites I want it used on.

2) On my site setting page on "Advanced" tab allow me to say "Specify key file" or allow me to specify key file on that screen for use on that site or select a dropdown from available files to use.

Crazy annoying that there isn't an option for this already in FZ.

If there is not enough disk space, the files are downloading from server with size 0 and placed in the group of successful transfers.

I am unable to connect to the server with one of my websites. As of about two days ago, I was able to see my files on my domain server as well as upload files. Then I received a message in red saying that the domain info doesn't match the host. I called the hosting company for help and they checked out the domain information to see if anything was incorrect. Then the tech advisor kindly checked the Site Manager via remote and saw that everything was correct. Now I no longer see the error message but just "Not connected to any server". I am able to go to the website from the browser.

The other two domains that I have on FileZilla work just fine.

I can't change the name or user id, I did recently change the password.

MacOS is capable of creating aliases of files as well as directories (equivalent to links under Linux) by means of Ctrl-clicking on the required object and selecting "Make alias" (and generally renaming the result after moving it so it no longer has "alias" added, but I digress. Filezilla currently does not see these as directory links to follow, but as files and thus tries to open them instead.

As far as I can tell it does appear to follow a file alias, I suspect that's because that gets immediately handed off to the file system.

Interim fix is to visit the actual directory manually, which somewhat negates the whole point of those shortcuts :).

Usually, the uploading speed could reach 100 MB per second. However, sometimes it is less than 20 MB per second.

My home LAN. I uploaded files from my Mac to my Ubuntu server. The two are connected by a switch. All devices are 1000 Mbps product, including the switch, the wires.

I also see no accommodation for https. Here's how it appears ... ​https://www.mysite.com/docushare Port 80 When I click Connect or okay it fails indicating it found the IP address and yet the connection attempt fails and was aborted. The "/docushare" virtual directory gets stripped off. DocuShare typically uses an IIS bridge to Apache Tomcat for WebDAV. I didn't see anything in your documentation indicating it wouldn't work with Tomcat. I'd like to see some accommodation and can give you temporary access to a DocuShare server for testing. "mysite" isn't the actual domain name, so contact me for this.

Up until version 3.41.2 of the client, when using the Windows build and choosing to delete either a single or group of files from a server, the "Question" sound event would be triggered - this can be found within the Windows Control Panel/Sound/Sounds section. Whilst this may seem like a small thing, it is very useful if the Delete option is accidentally chosen. Please could this be re-added?

When I use the "Create a directory and enter it" option on the local side with a folder name ending in a dot (e.g. "A.T.O.M."), two new folders are shown on the top pane: "A.T.O.M" and "A.T.O.M." - this is because Windows doesn't support names ending in dots so the trailing dot is removed. If I leave the newly created directory and refresh the file list, the folder ending with a dot disappears.

the new feature to specify key specific login is great

but when importing keys on selecting all files from dropdown it does not shows all files i.e. files without extensions

as most linux systems keeps things simple all of the keys that are auto generated by ssh-keygen are stored without ext by default.

Please if possible add the feature to use ssh keys with extension less files too :)

When asking file zilla to close filezilla once after a queue is done, there's a pop-up that there are still files in queue ( after the queue is already done ) this is likely because the last file to be used clogs it up, or because it first tries to close filezilla and then changes the variable to say the queue is finished. This bug however doesn't occur on "Close Filezilla" alone, only on "Close Filezilla once"

The first time Refresh/F5 is used in a session the Status window shows that the refresh was sent to the server, but then nothing happens. Any subsequent Refresh/F5 does nothing at all. The files and folders are only refreshed on a new connection or reconnection.

I've attached a copy of the Status log up to the point where I started this report. Note line 310 where I clicked the Refresh icon on the Toolbar. When that didn't do anything, I pressed the F5 key, then used the menu to choose View/Refresh. As you can see, Filezilla didn't even acknowledge these additional attempts to refresh.

Before starting this Bug ticked, I searched the Bug reports where I found multiple unresolved tickets starting from 9 years ago about this problem. Is this not important enough to resolve ? I've used numerous FTP clients in the past and every one of them had no problem refreshing during a session.

A LEFT ARROW and a RIGHT ARROW between the 2 panes would allow transfer of data in either direction. The would greatly simplify data transfer. (The older Firefox versions which supported FTA had this feature.)

The waiting list feature (Bottom right on the user interface) is incremented with the size of what is sent. In our case, this amount is calculated with the size of the file shown in FileZila and not effective the size.

The size of the file may change is modified in the same time on the FS. FileZila send the tight file with the right size but incréments its waiting list feature with a wrong amount (the one shown in the interface at the moment of the action and not the size on the FS).

Could you please rename lt_LT.po to lt.po and lv_LV.po to lv.po? On my Fedora 30 system /usr/share/locale/lt/LC_MESSAGES has 767 files, while /usr/share/locale/lt_LT/LC_MESSAGES has only 3, including filezilla.mo. Similar with Latvian - /usr/share/locale/lv/LC_MESSAGES has 570 files, while /usr/share/locale/lv_LV/LC_MESSAGES has only 2.

I am no longer able to move multiple files at a time, it will only allow me to move 1 at a time

I inadvertantly deleted the Quickconnect information in Filezilla Client and am now unable to reconnect, I get "ECONNREFUSED" My Server is OMC@…. How can i reset my Password please?

I am running filezilla on ubuntu 19.04 lts I followed instructions on installing filezilla on 19.04 . It opens ok and I can connect to ftp server ok. But when I try to drag and drop a file in either direction filezilla closes down and i have to reopen connection. Why can't I xfer files back and forth??

When adding directories (that this requires before the app will start) it errors out on all directories with this error:

Could not create security-scoped bookmark from URL: The file couldn’t be opened.

And prohibits from getting in ..

Nothing i choose can be opened or added and I need to use this to get into my servers...

i'm totally stuck! Any suggestions?

After getting reports on connection errors, I tested my setup, which worked fine. (Unfortunately, i'm not sure what version I was running at the time, but it was not more than a couple months old)

I then upgrade FileZilla to latest, and when I connect to my ProFTPd server now, I get the following errors clientside

Server is setup with session reuse, and everything was running fine before updating.

When working with an ssh account, a passphrase is required. It would be great, if that password input field, once it pops up, could receive auto-focus, so typing is immediately possible.

For years now, over many versions, FileZilla has spuriously reported: "Server unexpectedly closed network connection" Please see attached Log of (successful) Upload. SSH Version on Client: OpenSSH_7.6p1 Ubuntu-4ubuntu0.3, OpenSSL 1.0.2n 7 Dec 2017 (Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon, which is current at time-of-writing) SSH Version on Server: OpenSSH-7.5p1 (Strato Webhoster) P.S. to verify the Upload, I downloaded the file with an older version of FileZilla (v3.29.0) on another PC. The Download also gave a... "Server unexpectedly closed network connection" ...message.

I upgraded to 3.42.1 and can no longer get directory listings on TLS connection. This was not happening with previous version of Filezilla.

The error I receive is: Certificate of connection does not match expected certificate.

I cleared the certificate by removing trustedcerts.xml and retrieved a new certificate, but that did not fix the problem. I also cleared cache (from debug tab) and that also did not fix the problem. Evertyhing was working fine until I installed new release (no changes to connections). And it still works with older version of FileZilla.

I used to connect to my server with Filezilla successfully until the latest update version 3.42.1. When I try to connect it first displays connected, waiting for the welcome screen, then the server disconnect. The attached files show the different stages of the tentative connection. I still can connect to my server either with browsers from my same computer or with my iPhone.

Please include easy file manipulation (edit, cut, paste, remove etc) in FileZilla Client for all platforms like in Flash Fxp. Thank you!

I'm using Filezilla to transfer webcam images. Since these are being continuously generated, there are always a lot of files that need to be skipped which takes a long time. I notice FIlezilla always transfers the most recent images first (I hope this is intentional and not just a feature of my system) so the optimal action would be to abort and clear the queue when a file already exists.

Using FileZilla Client 3.42.1 during a file transfer session if the network is interrupted and FileZilla has to attempt to Resume a partially transferred file, one will first receive the first Error message "Error: local: unable to open <filename>" followed by a second Error message "Error: Critical file transfer error".

Mind you that I'm downloading data from a server to my personal MacBook Pro in my personal Downloads folder.

To resolve this issue, one needs to update the macOS permissions before attempting to Rest, Requeue and Resume the failed file(s).

This has only started happening recently with FileZilla's latest updates. I've been a FileZilla client user for many years and never has this happened until recently.

FileZilla is not honoring the folder's file permissions correctly.

I've noticed this for quite some time. It might or might not be a bug, and if it is not a bug then consider it a feature request.

I have remote folders that have 1000's of files in them, making it really hard to pick one file for downloading. so I like to use the manual transfer option.

When I specify the name of the file I am downloading and then hit the download button it tells me the "local files is a drectory instead of a regular file".

Ofcourse the solution is to copy the file name to be downloaded to the left side after the path indicated the download location.

Personally, I feel that if the download path is set there, and if I don't specify a local file, the remote file should be the default new localfile name.

I don't see a logical everyday reason to change the name of the downloaded file because usually when you are done editing the file and are ready to to upload it, it will be the same name. so why change it. Regardless the reason for the current behavior, I feel it should be changed to automatically create the local filename.

Alternatively a configuration section to allow changing that behavior and if you do that, an option to make the start transfer immediately box automatically set or not, like whatever is there to be remembered for next time.

caveat: after all this time I bothered to look to see if you had a find option and you do, i might start using that now.

I have an AMD 7650 Radeon with Windows 10 Educational.

Every time I try to download a huge amount of files, sometimes I need to put them in the queue recursively before processing the queue.

Otherwise, the download queue became much shorter than the real amount of files I want to download.

For SSH public key connections Filezilla seems to always (and only) use Pageant when available in preference to either the generic keys specified in Setup/Connection/FTP/SFTP or a specific key set for the connection in Site Manager/Logon Type=keyfile. This seems counter-intuitive, especially using the agent in preference to a connection specific key, and is confusing when other applications (e.g. Putty) use any specified keyfile first and fall back to using the agent on failure/missing.

In my case I'm using GPG-agent as a stand in for Pageant. Unlike Pageant which pre-caches decrypted private keys and therefore will always be able to offer them, GPG-agent offers the SSH key IDs but only decrypts them as needed via a password popup, and then expires the passwords from memory after a short interval, if that password prompt is cancelled FZ gives up and doesn't even fallback to using the password file(s).

My usage case is that I would like to use GPG-agent for regular Putty connections and some occasional Filezilla connections (where no keyfile is specified), but for regular FZ connections (e.g. to development servers) to use a dedicated locked down key that is used and cached long term by the FZ session without ever troubling the agent. As it stands currently FZ will always use (and seemingly can only use) the more widely privileged keys known to the agent, keeping them cached unnecessarily if activity is frequent, and/or prompting repeatedly for the password if activity is less frequent than the agent's cache expiry timeout.

Currently there is no option to specify the PPK file on the commandline. It would be great if this option was added.

This one is tricky, was giving me a headache. It's very specific, the following items must all be correct for the bug to show itself:

• Must be the same tab
• Must be the same SFTP user
• Only thing that changes is password

So, we were testing a script that updates SFTP user's password. So I needed to test multiple new passwords for the same SFTP user.

I opened a tab and logged in successfully. Then I updated user's password, went into Site Manager and updated password there and clicked Connect. Authentication failed. This is all within the same tab.

I disconnected from the server in that tab. Then tried reconnecting again. It worked.

Next, I repeated these steps several times. If you're connected to the server with a user and password, changing password for that user and trying to reconnect without first disconnecting will result in authentication failure. If I try to do this in a new tab, it works fine.

My guess is, FileZilla tries to use old password even though I'm trying to connect with a new password. Sort of like a cache.

This happens if you use quick connect form or Site Manager.

I hope I described this problem clearly. I don't recall if this was ever an issue as I didn't have the need to change passwords and reconnect like this before.

trying to upload a file i am debugging to my website after the site file has given me an error of its own. frequently seems to be a file containing PHP.

BUT, if after i get several of these can't transfer errors (by retry) i can invariably restart FZ and the file can be transferred immediately, no problems. if i recall, a disconnect reconnect did not fix the issue.

Cant connect to sftp server from my Filezilla, gets this error:

I've noticed a problem while downloading a PHP file associated with Wordpress when using ASCII mode.

When downloading a file, part of it get garbled and makes the file unreadable.

Forcing binary mode solves the problem.

I'm attaching the file downloaded in the binary mode and in ASCII mode for comparison.

I'm downloading the file from a Linux server using a Windows FileZilla Client version 3.42.1.

You need to go to the 5749 line of the file formatting_ASCII_download.txt and scroll to column 15741 to see exactly what is happening.

I'm attaching formatting_binary_download.txt which is a correctly downloaded version of the file for comparison.

The mentioned files can be found in any WordPress installation in the directory: wp-includes/formatting.php

I'm using Notepad++ to verify the downloaded file.

I have multiple server connections and different servers. Any one I connect to, since I updated filezilla, I get an error - All transfers complete, files could not transfer. So I can't upload anywhere. I need help. Thanks.

I used Filezilla yesterday, and messed up my site by moving 2 directories, because the mouse was not responding, I moved it and after that, I noticed that 2 directories had been moved : the site was broken. I had to search my site to find were were the missing directories, and move them back, but I got a fright... I am still not shaking... but a communication temporary breakdown, and it can happen.

I've been using FZ for years and updating the client every time it notifies me. Recently, I upgraded my mac os to catalina and found I was unable to open the FZ client (apparently an issue with the 32 bit version). So, I downloaded a new version of FZ which is seemingly the 64bit. And it works just as I would expect it to (very well, btw!).

My problem is that years and years of site details exist in the old version and I don't know how to access the xml file to import them into the new client. Is there a way I can do this without being able to open the old app?

make connection to dvi and then select file from pc to copy to dvi (toppfield). It says transfer was successful but file did not appear in target directory. can copy file to other folders on the dvi. folder that having problem with is called MediaFiles and is used to play mp4 files on the dvi for viewing on the TB.

During a 150GB transfer got a pop up stating:

fzsftp.exe - Application error

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK to close Application.

Meanwhile transfers got interrupted in the background but filezilla remained open. Clicking OK did not make the window go away and error persisted until I closed down Filezilla manually. It looks like one of those popups got shown for each transfer thread (I had 4 simultaneous transfers).

In Event Viewer in Windows I see the following:

My CPU is latest Ryzen 3900x (32GB of RAM) and transfers were to an SSD at abpit 150 megabit per second.

Seems to be a one off since Ive been using Filezilla regularly and havent encountered this before.

FileZilla Client becomes extremely slow to enumerate local files when the local site is on a slow network drive. In this particular case the physical "local" drive is at a remote location such that network latency is quite high.

Windows Explorer is able to enumerate files and folders on this drive much faster than the FileZilla client is, so my guess would be that the API calls being used are inefficient in this situation.

For example, if I navigate to a new folder it might take 2 seconds for each child item to appear in the local site pane, and FileZilla is unresponsive until all items have been populated. If I navigate to the same folder in Windows Explorer it might take 2 seconds total for all items to be populated.

I don't know what this means.

It would be nice with a feature, which perhaps could be stored locally on the users machine, where you're able to add a color to a remote server folder. Because sometimes, if you have many folders remotely, you can get "confused" as to which ones are what, which ones, belive it or not, came from you, and which did not.

This confusion usually only lasts a while, as you then check through and compare. But with ability to color folders remotely, everything would be chrystal clear!

• When download is actually completes, user/group and access mode is matched to file on remote server

Many times a specific file or specific files, whose names do not change over time, need to be uploaded for publishing.

Like in the Seamonkey Suite, which has a pusblish button for uploading the whole page that one is editing in one go, it would be fine if there is one or more publish/Quicktransfer buttons for uploading one's favourite file(s).

Now, one has to manoevre each time through all directories to locate the files. Synchronized browsing and bookmarking helps, but then still scrolling and locating is necessary.

This/these Publish/Quicktransfer button/buttons could be located for instance to the right of the the Quickconnect Bar.

(A) corresponding shortcut key(s) could be assigned to the button(s).

If such a button/these buttons work for one favourite file, such a button could be extended to work for a list of files, for which each time extensive browsing is required.

It would then look like the Publish Button of the Seamonkey Suite, which unfortunately only handles ftp, not sftp or ftps, so if FileZilla is going to do this it would be great!

I love how filezilla works I used it. So it started misbehaving until I thought of installing the new version. Kanshi that's was the end of using the PC Now it blocked everything it doesn't allow to be uninstalled ; Howw can I do it>??

I have a saved server registration which I have configured to ask for password when I try to connect. I click to connect, and the "Enter password" dialog appears.

When I try to paste my password into the textbox in this dialog, nothing happens. I have to type in my password.

During a download of multiple files from same remote server or any server, when a duplicate file is found and you alter how the file is handled and apply to current queue, if you then try to view the 'Failed Transfer' you are unable to move between the tabs. It's a pain when you want to re-queue a failed file as you cannot do so, and have to shut Filezilla down, loosing the the 'Falied Transfer' list.

Site Manager fails to connect with client version 3.44.2 with stp-ssh to sourceforge with multiple attempts, simply saying unable to connect. After returning to 3.43.0 site manager had no problems. Lots of update nags via program and website, yet I needed to downgrade. If you are going to nag so hard, please fix and make sure fixes don't break things before deploying. Perhaps you could setup a beta tester channel.

We have a DFS namespace mapped to the drive letter N:, which contains a large number of network shares (~40). If I expand N:\ in the Filezilla local site section, it causes Filezilla to freeze for about 30 seconds the first time this is done after launching and whenever it is refreshed.

If I select N:\ without expanding it, I can refresh without issue.

I've connected to the remove computer correctly. Same as I have on many times. I updated to the latest version yesterday and now this problem. Is there another way to transfer a file?

When using a UNC path for local files, the “Local site:” box will accept and show the current path, but the server node and directory tree does not appear within the local tree pane. This means that you cannot explore the local directory structure or move files between local directories.

I would expect the server to appear as another node in the tree, either at the same level as local drives, or at the same level as Desktop, and a chain of directory nodes up to the working directory.

Whenever I upload a file the displayed uploadspeed gets immediately above 155 - 180 MBit/Sec. My internet connection is limited to 40 MBit/sec. This results in the file supposedly been transfered within seconds - as filezilla shows. On the other side (FileZilla Server 0.9.60.2) it shows a upload speed at about 3,4 MByte/sec which would be fine. Since the file seems to be already transfered filezilla closes the connection or it times out and filezilla reconnects afterwards again. This behavior repeats multiple times.

This bug has existed for me for at least a year and happens on 3 different PCs I use. If it has already been filed I apologize but could not find it.

What happens is that Filezilla doesn't "come to front" when clicking it in the taskbar. I am using Windows 10 on all these machines, I think the bug started when I upgraded to W10. As I said, it happens on multiple PCs.

The only way to bring Filezilla to the front, is to minimize all other windows in turn, and then it'll work. Clicking it in the taskbar does nothing. This bug can occur anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 hours after opening Filezilla. Closing and reopening Filezilla makes no difference the bug re-occurs.

At least half a year ago, I noticed a problem. What sometimes FileZilla does not respond and does not connect to the servers. It starts to connect if you restart it. This happens in 20-25% of cases and the program does not give any errors.
