My Problem is: I'm working in a company that needs a FTP server, so we decided to set up FileZilla Server on a Windows machine. Because of a very slow internet connection, we're in trouble with some other internet applications in the daytime. The idea to save bandwidth is, to disable the FTP server function during the day and enable it at night. I know it can be realized via the Task Scheduler in Windows, that is able to start or stop services. But in case of a stopped service, you only get a message from your FTP client, that the server isn't available/don't respond. A much better idea is to send a short ""Welcome"" message to the client and then close the connection. The ""Welcome"" message should be freely chosen. So a customer, that wants to access the FTP server during daytime, gets a message including opening hours of the FTP server. That's much better than ""no answer from the server""!
