FileZilla 3.66.5 executable contains no version information

Description

Hello,
I downloaded and installed the latest Windows 64-bit FileZilla v3.66.5 yesterday and have discovered the filezilla.exe executable contains no version information as existed in the previous versions
Without this version information it is not possible to detect the correct version has been installed with automated deployment tools (such as SCCM or Intune)
FileZilla.exe v3.66.5 properties will be attached as an image once the ticket has been created

I noticed this too and managed to solve it by using the uninstall.exe for now.
But it would be nice if the main application was tagged correctly as well.

Ah Yes! Thanks for sharing your workaround, at least I can get this version deployed with a working file detection for now. I agree "it would be nice if the main application was tagged correctly as well"

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

This issue will be fixed in the next version.

The proper way to detect whether installing was successful or not is to check the installer's return code.

Yes correct - to detect it has successfully installed.
But this is to ensure you have the correct version

Check the registry: Version value of the following registry key:

On a 64bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\FileZilla Client
On a 32bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FileZilla Client
