#11231 new Bug report
Scrolling on Mac Client slow to respond in Site Manager
|Reported by:||scotts7777||Owned by:|
|Keywords:||scrolling on mac||Cc:||Arcadia|
|Component version:||3.25.1||Operating system type:||OS X|
|Operating system version:||10.11.6 El Capitan|
When scrolling down the list of sites in Site Manager there is a semi-long and very annoying pause. This pause does not happen in other areas of FileZilla when scrolling down (for example the Local site or remote site file folder list)
This bug was introduced maybe 1-2 years ago, it never used to be this way. Affects three different Mac computers. Does not affect Windows client.
FileZilla version 3.25.1 Build date 2017-03-20
OSX 10.11.6 El Capitan running on Macbook Retina 12" Early 2016 1.3Ghz Core m7 8GB 1867Mhz LPDDR3 RAM

It's a known problem that unfortunately cannot be reproduced.

This bug was introduced in v3.14.1 - it happens 100% of the time on every tested Mac in v3.14.1 or later and happens 0% of the time on v3.14.0 or prior versions. I installed each version from 3.9 to current and tested each one, narrowing it down to some change between 3.14.0 and 3.14.1.

I've updated my FileZilla because importing xml files to the old version from new versions of FileZilla does not work anymore. Import works now, but i now i have this problem as other mac users. I can't use trackpad gestures on my MacBook to scroll with 2 fingers through the site list because it's so laggy. I can scroll smoothly when i drag the scrollbar though, but it would be very nice if i can use the 2 finger gesture again to scroll. As a developer, i'm guessing this has something to do with multithreading. UI thread should be clear of intensive tasks.

I've added a video of same issue on my platform: macOS 10.15.2 Catalina
FileZilla version: 3.46.3
I had this issue first time some years ago. Please fix it, it's very annoying when you have a large number of sites in site manager!
Thank you for FileZilla!
