#10143 moreinfo_accepted Patch

buttons in update window not visible using screen resolution 1024 x 600

Reported by: GAJ Owned by: Stephen L'Allier
Priority: normal Component: FileZilla Client
Keywords: screen resolution, update, popup window Cc:
Component version: Operating system type: Windows
Operating system version: Win7 starter

Description

Running FileZilla on a Win7 netbook with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 is no problem. However, when checking for a software update, a new window pops up (indicating that a new version is available), but the buttons allowing to choose to install this update (or cancel) are not visible (should be at the bottom of the screen), and there is no way of navigating there (the window is taking up the full screen height already, but no scrollbar appears).

This bug was worked on as a group project at Florida Institute of Technology for an Intro to Software Engineering class. The group members were: Ash Clarke, Stephen L'Allier, Yannis Lewis, and Trung Nguyen. Trung primarily worked on this bug.

The patch only appears to work around the actual, yet unknown reason. Even without the patch, the minimum height of the details is 200 pixels which is small enough for low-resolution screen. Yet the dialog remains far bigger for some reason.
