#9799 fixed 530 Critical Error User cannot log in Michael

Here is a brain teeser.

Status: Resolving address of Status: Connecting to IP_ADDRESS:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220 Microsoft FTP Service Command: USER MYUSER@… Response: 331 Password required for MYUSER@…. Command: PASS * Response: 530 User cannot log in. Error: Critical error Error: Could not connect to server

I want to point out that I've looked in other posts, and I did all the things recommended by so many problem solvers....

And here are the facts:

  1. It was working fine until a couple of days ago. Nothing changed.
  2. I tried changing passwords.
  3. I've added a new user in my hosting FTP User Management.
  4. I tried adding the domain name after the user name with @ in between them. I also tried without.
  5. I tried the domain name as hostname, and also the IP Address.
  6. I CAN connect with WS_FTP Client to my hosting.
  8. I LOVE FileZilla.
  9. HELP!!!
#9396 outdated 530 Error Bug Anthony Trivisano

I have been using Filezilla for over 4 years now, it recently stopped working and started giving me a 530 error. I know all my credentials are correct because I never changed them. I recently purchased new web hosting for another business that I have and same error. Here are the credentials I have tried:

Host -,, Port - 21 Protocol - FTP Encryption - Plain FTP Logon Type - Normal User - atrivisano, atrivisano@… Password - correct password

I tried to login to my FTP server via google chrome with this:

Host - User - atrivisano@… Password - correct password

and it worked. Also, I tried coreFTP and it said I could not log in. I have tried setting to Active Mode and I have allowed Filezilla through my windows 8 firewall. My point of access for the internet has always been my iPhone Hotspot and has not changed.

My question is: How do I fix this because the File Manager on web hosts SUCKS...

#5656 invalid 530 Login authentication failed Peter

I uploaded some documents to the FTP intending to make them available on my website. How do I make them available to the public?

Right now a window pops up and says 'Enter password for gdwf on'. Is there a way to do away with the password protection? If I hit Enter I get '530 Login authentication failed' after I click on

Thanks for your help
