#7287 | Uploading problems with encryption (Linux only) | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
This log is anonymized. Size of cloudy_violet.JPG is 833,949 bytes. Filezilla 3.4.0 client (Linux) with encryption (Require explicit FTP over TLS).The connection timeout is nonsense. The FTP server is the last one which is sending an ACK and is waiting for Filezilla to do something - checked with wireshark. Without encryption, everything is working fine under Linux - but with encryption see this log. Only max. 180,224 bytes per session possible. Firewall was not active. Filezilla 3.4.0 client under Windows Vista is working flawlessly (with no encryption and encryption, too). Description |
Summary Basically, in the event you have a directory containing tens of thousands of files (like a logs directory) FileZilla only shows the first 9998 files. Steps to Reproduce
Result: First 9998 files are listed I wrote a crappy bash script that will create an arbitrary number of files in helping to help with reproducing this corner case of a bug: http://pastie.org/1875855 To use it:
Other Stuff: I have reproduced this on Windows and OSX. I can test on Linux if someone asks but I don't have a VM currently accessible so I took the lazy route :X |

#7335 | Large files change size when copying to a linux ftp server. | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
I created a ghost of my system which resulted in 3 files, 2 were 2147474666 bytes and the last was 654114517 bytes. If I copy these 3 files from windows xp to windows xp using native windows networking the destination files are created with the correct sizes. But if I use filezilla 3.4.0 to copy these files from windows to a linux server running an unpatched centos 5.4 distro, the file sizes at the destination are not the same as the source, different by several kb. If I run ghost, and verify the copied-to-linux image files (over a samba connection), ghost claims that the image is corrupted. |

#7337 | System freeze on Ubuntu 11.04 | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
Just upgraded Ubuntu to 11.04 from 10.10. I had no issue with Filezilla at all on 10.10. Now random freezes occur which make Filezilla totally unresponsive and require a restart, the app won't terminate normally when locked up. I can't identify a specific action that can cause it - its appears to be random. Ubuntu reports I have this version: 3.3.5.1-1ubuntu1 (filezilla) |

#7340 | FileZilla Client (Windows) uses IPv6 in preference to IPv4 - Fallback to IPv4 does not work in all cases | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
Ticket #4204 is still an issue: In preparation of the World IPv6 Day at 8 June 2011 we added AAAA Records in the DNS to the host names of our servers. We can successful connect to all the services at the server via IPv6 - with the exception of the FileZilla Server, that does not offer IPv6 support. This should not be an issue, because the Clients like web browsers or mail clients typically first try IPv6 and then fallback to IPv4, if no IPv6 connection can be established. But the FileZilla Client does no fallback to the IPv4 address (what is also sent by the DNS server), FTP doesn't work any longer. This could get an big issue and could cast a damning light on the FileZilla Client after IPv6 will be enabled by more and more ISP - not only at the World IPv6 Day! |

#7347 | Won't reconnect after timeout (input_pushback not null!) | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
When connected to a server via SFTP, and it times out and disconnects, FileZilla doesn't automatically reconnect when selecting a remote folder in the folder tree. Instead, it gives an 'input_pushback not null!' error, followed by another error: 'Failed to retrieve directory listing.' Clicking on yet another folder will force a reconnect. It's just selecting the first folder that gives this error. It used to work fine, but has been broken for 6 months or so. |

#7350 | Confusing option on prompt after a file being edited has been changed | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
1) Right click a local file and chose "Edit". 2) Make a change to this file. 3) Switch back to FileZilla. 4) On the prompt whether to upload the file check "Finish editing and delete local file". 5) Answer with "Yes" or "No". This does not seem to matter. To my understanding the local file is the file I chose for editing. However, this file is still there afterwards. I am not sure what the expected behavior in this case is. Personally I like the current one, but I am confused by the option saying the file will be removed. |

#7354 | The client may 'badly' create files on Windows, breaking accented letters | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | worksforme
Description |
I had problems with accented letters with Filezilla client freshly downloaded last friday, on a Windows 7 (which I expect to use unicode for filenames). HYPOTHESIS both of the bug and what is causing it ;-) I believe that if the filename contains a 'e acute' with unicode value 0xE9 and so have UTF8 value 0xC3 0xA9, then the created file will have the 'e acute' replaced with two unicode characters. The first being unicode value 0xC3 (A tilde) and the second the unicode value 0xa9 (copyright sign). Which I guess could happens if the createFile windows function called was the non-unicode one rather than the unicode one. |

#7385 | FileZilla 3.5.0 takes down my wireless router | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | rejected
Description |
after update to 3.5.0 (was working fine between same two machines a couple of days ago - only significant change is FileZilla client upgrade) connecting to one of my servers takes down my wireless router. By which I mean it kills the connection between client machine and router, and also connection between iMac (different machine) and iPhone. Steps: 1) wireless connected fine on all three devices. these are the only devices connected to wireless, and client machine (Win7 laptop) and iMac are not using DHCP (iPhone is) 2)Attempt connection to a specific server (which happens to be running FileZilla Server - message logs from both ends of connection at bottom of report). Initial connection fine, but on the PORT step connection hangs. As I say, this worked fine between the same two machine in 3.4.x just a couple of days ago 3)All three devices are no longer able to connect to wireless. 4)Physically reset wireless router 5)Rinse and repeat (6 - 8 times before filing bug report) Other notes: 1) windows command-line ftp works fine to drop files between these two machines Client message log: 06:33:25 Trace: CControlSocket::DoClose(64) 06:33:25 Trace: CControlSocket::DoClose(64) 06:33:25 Status: Connecting to 208.116.32.234:21... 06:33:25 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 220-Welcome to the FTP Server of Niche Music Group. 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 220- 06:33:25 Response: 220-FileZilla Server version 0.9.37 beta 06:33:25 Response: 220-written by Tim Kosse (Tim.Kosse@…) 06:33:25 Response: 220 Please visit http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/ 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 06:33:25 Command: USER web_admin 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 331 Password required for web_admin 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 06:33:25 Command: PASS 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 230 Logged on 06:33:25 Status: Connected 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(0) 06:33:25 Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(0) 06:33:25 Trace: CFileZillaEnginePrivate::ResetOperation(0) 06:33:25 Status: Retrieving directory listing... 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ChangeDirSend() 06:33:25 Command: PWD 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 257 "/" is current directory. 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(0) 06:33:25 Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(0) 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ParseSubcommandResult(0) 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ListSubcommandResult() 06:33:25 Trace: state = 1 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferSend() 06:33:25 Trace: state = 1 06:33:25 Command: TYPE I 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::OnReceive() 06:33:25 Response: 200 Type set to I 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferParseResponse() 06:33:25 Trace: code = 2 06:33:25 Trace: state = 1 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::SendNextCommand() 06:33:25 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::TransferSend() 06:33:25 Trace: state = 2 06:33:25 Command: PORT 69,128,109,218,193,134 06:33:45 Error: Connection timed out 06:33:45 Trace: CControlSocket::DoClose(2050) 06:33:45 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(2114) 06:33:45 Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(2114) 06:33:45 Trace: CFtpControlSocket::ResetOperation(2114) 06:33:45 Trace: CControlSocket::ResetOperation(2114) 06:33:45 Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing 06:33:45 Trace: CFileZillaEnginePrivate::ResetOperation(2114) Server message log for same connection: (000836)6/10/2011 4:12:25 AM - (not logged in) (69.128.109.218)> Connected, sending welcome message... #7419 | Memory leak under load on x64 system | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Server | fixed
Description |
Host: Windows Server 2008 SP2 x64 Version: FileZilla Server 0.9.39 Issue: Filezilla server process consumes an increasing amount of memory under load. On a busy system over few days to a week it eventually reaches 2GB of memory and ceases responding. A restart of the service resets usage to ~5MB, and growth begins again. Observations: We have two instances of FZ server running on x64, a service system and a soon-to-be service system. So I have an opportunity if you can come up with tests to run. It appears that each connection consumes a small amount of memory that is not released. I am running the filezilla service under a domain account. switching to localsystem does not cure the issue. This does not appear to happen on a 32-bit host machine we have that runs FZ server - this is an older version though and is not necessarily a fair test. Over the last day or so I have had fun creating different types of load profiles. I've not been utterly scientific about this but have tested: Single client instance repeatedly uploading/downloading 10MB file - little problem Single client instance repeatedly uploading/downloading 10KB file - some leak Multiple client instances repeatedly uploading/downloading 5Byte files - large leak. Attached is a zipfile containing: ftpit.cmd - the script I used to create the files and the parallel connections. ftptest.txt - the ftp commands run to create activity (ftp-b is a cname to the server) Open to suggestions/ideas/observations. thanks! |

#7442 | Error reading attributes of filezilla.xml | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client | fixed
Description |
Starting filezilla.exe either directly or with shortcut generates this error message: Users\PM\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla\filezilla.xml Error reading Attributes For this session the default settings will be used. Any changes to the settings will not be saved. As a result, the settings are dropped, and any settings entered cannot be saved. This bug appeared suddenly, without any cause that I can identify. It could not be corrected by uninstalling and re-installing, and it could not be corrected by downloading a new setup file and re-installing that. I will answer any questions that would help de-bug this. Thanks for helping. Following is a copy of the filezilla.xml file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?> <FileZilla3>

#7457 | Failed to retrieve directory listing, therfore FZ fails to upload files | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
Our FTP server (Globalscape) has a no list files permission, so clients uploading cannot view or list the files on the server (security reasons). This has been working fine with previous version of FZ (3.1, 3.2), however in the latest version of FZ 3.5, this no longer works. Other FTP clients work fine also. As it used to work fine on previous versions of FZ, and now on new v3.5 no longer works, then I would categories it as a bug. Our problem is that we recommend our users to use FZ, as it's very simple robust, but were now getting clients reporting problems as they upgrade. Problem occurs on both the Windows and mac clients. #7474 | tool bar | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | duplicate
Description |
I would like to report in your software the toolbar will disappear from the screen when the message log is scrolling. I currently own the Toshiba and I noticed on your previous version of your software. This bug did not do this and the toolbar stayed exactly where it was and did not disappear. The only time I can get the toolbar to reappear is when I have to hit F5 and refresh the screen or minimize the window and then maximize it again which will cause the toolbar to reappear at which point we'll stay in its normal position without flickering so every time I open up the program before using it. I have to minimize the screen and then maximize it and then work up from there. I don't think it is my computer because the previous version did not do this. I just recently of graded to the newest version within a week and I noticed this glitch I don't know if anybody else is happening. This type of problem, but it is worth looking into because your program is such an asset to the community. I captured a screenshot live of what it does but I see no way to import it into your ticket system to show you exactly what's going onif you need further information or you want to see in this video that captured of what exactly going on. Please contact me and I will find a way to get to the footage |

#7744 | At 16,385 files, Filezilla goes into an infinite loop | Bug report | high | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
I have done 3 times. I am using FileZilla 3.5.1 on my PC, MS-Windows, Ver 5.1(Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_....:Service Pack 3) I want to transfer 62,424 files, with names like PHO_0xxxxxxx-5_1003457.HL7;1 to an USB drive (E:) on my PC. I am connected to a VAX OpenVMS V8.2. To gather the names (LIST in FTP) takes about an hour. I then do a CTRL-A on the names in the "remote directory" screen, and put it into the "Home" screen. I am also watching My "Task Master" Perforamce tab, to watch the CPU Usage screen. After about 45 minutes, CPU Usage becomes 100% usage and no more files are being copied. I "stop" Filezilla and check the number of files on my USB "Memery stick" and all 3 times the same number files, 16,385. 16,385 = 214 + 1. These files are anywhere 1KB big to 120KB big. And they are 100% text files, or HL7 files. If possible, let me know. Thanks |

If we Download a File from a FTP Server, the Rights are changed. And we can't change it with chmod or a system buil-in GUI afterwards. We have to download it as a zip or as a .dmg for mac then it works. Theres not the rights themselves who are false setted. Because after chmod 777 the rights should be setted right and it also shown. But still we have no permission to write... |

#7748 | CRITICAL FILE TRANSFER ERROR | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | outdated
Description |
For years I have relied on FileZilla to overwrite existing files as a method to change the existing item. What I ended up doinf is deleting and then uploading the new file. Now after trying numerous times I get the message "Critical File transfer error". At first I thought it was my upload speed but its not, as I successfully changed files last week. The only difference is that I receive updates from Filezilla and because I chose to let it update for me, it would appear that trying to overwrite is next to impossible. Any suggestions? |

#7760 | Jan 01 1601 Directory | Bug report | normal | FileZilla Client | worksforme
Description |
The SFTP server is a IPSwitch WS_FTP Enterprise Server, version 7.5.1.2. There are two virtual directories in a home folder but a folder named "Jan 01 1601" is added to every site that I connect to. The folder does not exist at the file system and is not a virtual directory. After some research the date "Jan 01 1601" has some significance in Windows. "January 1 of this year (1601-01-01) is used as the base of file dates[1] and of Active Directory Logon dates[2] by Microsoft Windows" -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1601 I've used tested the same site with WinSCP and native sftp in RedHat Enterprise Linux 5. The other SFTP clients does not display this folder. See attached files for more details. |
