#4849 Columns on remote server do not display properly if reordered Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

In FZ 3.2.8 under WinXP SP3, if I right-click on the remote server's column headings (the gray area above the current directory's file listing that reads Filename | Filesize | Filetype | etc.), check all six boxes, then use the Move Up/Move Down buttons to move Permissions to any position other than the fifth, the column headings move as requested, but the data in the column do not. So, for example, if I exchange Permissions (which was originally in fifth position) with Last Modified (which was originally in fourth position), the Last Modified information shows up in the new Permissions column (which is now in fourth position, where Last Modified was before the exchange), and the Last Modified column contents (now in fifth position) are blank (except for the header). Also, sorting of the date-last-sorted data in the "Permissions" column no longer works properly. Restoring the column headings to their original positions fixes all problems, but of course this defeats the purpose of having the column heading portability feature in the first place.

#4850 No file-list refresh in local window Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

The only way to refresh your local view seems to be pressing F5. When you're dragging files or folders to the Filezilla local window its contents are refreshed regularly. Now add a file to or rename a file to this directory using your explorer (outside Filezilla but while Filezilla is running) Filezilla's local window doesn't get aware of any of these changes. Is there really no communication between Filezilla and the OS for an automatic refresh known from many other applications?

#4851 Filezilla will not descend into directories with name ending in space. Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

I have to access a BBS with some folder names that have spaces in the filenames. Filezilla used to be able to access all folders, but now, if I try to access a folder with spaces in the file names, I get the following error.

Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: CWD /All_files Response: 250 CWD command successful. Command: CWD ABC Engineering Response: 550 The system cannot find the file specified. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

It will sucessfully descend into folders with no white spaces in filenames.

#4852 Local file listing does not match column headers Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Right click on the header bar for local files. The column setup dialog appears. Delete a column or move a column. The results are that the headers move, but the actual listing remains the same.

#4866 FileZilla 3.2.8 crashes on Windows 7 Ultimate RTM Bug report normal FileZilla Client outdated
Description

Just installed FileZilla 3.2.8 Client on an HP 2133 "Mini" running Windows7 Ultimate.

It crashes a couple of seconds after the Welcome splash screen is dismissed and the main interface window loads.

A desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (which was just cleanly installed) does NOT show this problem with the same version of FileZilla Client.

Removing and reinstalling FileZilla Client on the problematic machine makes no difference.

#4867 Problem customizing column headers in version 3.2.8 Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Right-clicking the header bar within the local and remote file windows brings up the Column Setup dialogue for selecting the columns that should be displayed and the order in which to display them.

Changing these configurations by checking and unchecking the boxes and using the move up and move down buttons will change the visibility and location of the column headers, as it should. However, the file details below do not change with the column headers, as they should.

For example, if you uncheck the Filesize box in order to hide that column, the header goes away, but the column containing the Filesize information for each file is still listed below. Only now it appears under the Filetype header, as the Filesize header is no longer visible. And the Filetype information is listed below the Last Modified header. The file detail columns do not change visibility or order, no matter what settings you make in the Column Setup dialogue box.

This behavior has been confirmed on two separate machines, although both are running the same version of Windows.

#4872 Reorder columns only changes column headings not content Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

To reproduce: Right mouse click on a column heading in either the local or remote file pane. The "Column setup" dialog is displayed. Select (highlight) a column, then click either the "Move up" or "Move down" button. Click "OK" then view the pane. The column headings will have changed order BUT NOT the content.

For example, if the order was 'Filename,Filesize,Filetype,Last modified' and you move 'Filetype' up, you will see a column heading of 'Filetype' with numbers beneath, and a column heading of 'Filesize' but the column contents are type names such as "zip file" or "batch file".

#4881 Downloading failes, not renaming - charset issue (iso-8859-1) Bug report high FileZilla Client rejected
Description

First of all: I have read http://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Character_Set and you could reject this request simply based on the fact that UTF-8 isn't used. However, please read on.

The problem is that renaming works, but downloading fails. I would have understood if both failed. This inconsistent behavior seems strange and is a bug in my view.

The server is a CentOS 4.7 with OpenSSH 3.9p1. It's using iso-8859-1 as default charset. When FileZilla connects, it deactivates UTF-8 (because the output of the ls command contains illegal characters I guess - a test file named "æøå.txt"). When I try to download the file "æøå.txt", it fails:

Command: get "æøå.txt" "C:\Documents and Settings\Hans\Desktop\æøå.txt"
Error:	/home/hans/æøå.txt: open for read: no such file or directory

However, renaming works:

Command: mv "æøå.txt" "æøa.txt"
Status:	/home/hans/æøå.txt -> /home/hans/æøa.txt

It's probably my lack of knowledge when it comes to the SFTP protocol, that makes this behavior weird to me.

Thanks for your time and effort - FileZilla is great!

Regards, Hans

#4882 FileZilla Client (Win X64) + vsftpd server + FTPES Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

Connecting from Filezilla client, (tested: running on Vista Business x64 or XP Professional x86) to a vsftpd server (running on Ubuntu 7.04 x86 and Ubuntu 8.04 x86 (two servers) ), using FTPES and TLS authentication. Works fine, but when the client is closed or the "disconnect" button is used, it doesn't seem to disconnect from the server properly, not closing down the SSL session:

Mon Oct 12 12:30:47 2009 [pid 17113] [ftpusername] OK LOGIN: Client "11.22.33.44" Mon Oct 12 12:31:11 2009 [pid 17114] [ftpusername] DEBUG: Client "11.22.33.44", "Connection terminated without SSL shutdown - buggy client?"

I get this on both servers, with all kinds of FZ-Windows clients. Other clients I tested seem to disconnect correctly.

Hi,

I'm not sure whether or not this is a windows 7 issue but I doubt it.

Here's the exact error:

The file 'C:\DW\premierparts.ca\acceptDecline.php' cannot be opened: The associated program (WX_DDE#"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\Dreamweaver.exe","C:\DW\premierparts.ca\crm\acceptDecline.php"##System#) could not be found. Please check your filetype associations.

#4888 Turn ON\OFF Drag and Drop Feature request normal FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

The drag and drop functionality has more often than not misfired and caused an unwanted move. The other issue I have is that when an unwanted move does happen, moving that file back up to the proper directory requires that I set the screen resolution to microsopic size because the mouse does not trigger a move of the directory treeview control.

So to sum this up:

  1. Turn On\Off drag-drop functionality in the client to stop unwanted moves.
  2. Add in scrolling support for the treeview controls when the mouse cursor reaches the edge to better support file movement.

#4891 Overwrite rule keeps asking for confirmation Bug report high FileZilla Client outdated
Description

I've set my preferences for up/download to : overwrite if file is newer/filesize is different.

Why then does filezilla, since 3.8, keeps asking me for confirmation/filename change before overwriting? He knows the rule, he knows what i want. Why ask then? Really annoying when transferring a folder with 1K+ items in it.

#4892 double download Bug report high FileZilla Client rejected
Description

After being downloaded some files have twice the size of the original and indicated size such as 30.2MB instead of 15.1MB. These files work normally, if exe or zip or pdf files but they are excessively large. During progress report the % indicator arrives at 100% downloaded when the expected file size has been transferred but the transfer process just continues while the progress indicator remains at 100%.

The issue has been haunting me for a while but not from the beginning. At some update the issue first disappeared but then returned. I just updated to 3.2.8.1 but that didn't help.

OS: Win XPPro/SP3

Thanks for your help

#4893 Security on public computer - feature request Feature request high FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

It would be great if there were an option (when the program is installed!) to automatically clear the history when the program is closed. This would be very helpful because the option could not be changed by any user because they can't install software, and each person's personal information (connect password etc.) would be safe as soon as the program is closed.

I work at a school and this feature would be great. The reason I'm asking for a high priority is that it's currently a security risk for students to access one another's personal drive space if they forget to clear their connect info.

Thanks.

#4897 Error: local: unable to open Bug report normal FileZilla Client invalid
Description

If I'm trying to copy files from SFTP server in my case (I guess from any server) directly to mapped network drive I get following symptoms:

Some files are transferred OK but then Filezilla Client hogs CPU time (whole machine becomes bit unresponsive) and after some timeout following error appears:

error while writing local file

and to some other files after this one: local: unable to open Z:\dir\ec\to\rytree\file.end

Files with error are partially transferred and then stopped.

Like said error do not appear on all files. If I transfer files to my own hard drive everything works. This behavior appear with versions 3.2.8 and 3.2.8.1. 3.2.7.1 works correctly.

#4899 Site Manage Drop Down Bug report low FileZilla Client wontfix
Description

I consider this a bug, but you may consider it a 'feature request'. Here is the break down of what happens.

I have many many sites saved in the Site Manage, when I click the down arrow on the Site Manage icon, I have a list so long that I can't see any of the sites past 't' in the list.

There is an arrow on the top of the list, but not on on the bottom to scroll down the list.

For sites below 't' I have to go into the site manager and click connect.

Not a huge deal, but I would LOVE to see a version update that included this feature/bug fix. As it would make my life a tad bit easier.

#4900 Unable to connect more than once. Connections unstable Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

I have this problem with most, if not all sites. I am able to connect one time, and after a few minutes, the connection gets dropped. If I attempt to reconnect, I get the following error messages:

Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer Response: 425 Unable to build data connection: Connection refused Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I called a host called Hostgator technical support, and began to describe the problem, and the tech person basically finished my sentences and described the problem back to me. He said this is a known problem in FileZilla.

There was a new version available - which I installed - but it did not resolve the problem.

Thank You William Gunn

#4905 Manually Save/Export Queue Feature request normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

I routinely have several FileZilla windows open at work connected to multiple servers. It would be nice if I could save the queues from each of these sessions independently. Perhaps an "Export as XML" or something similar. Then FileZilla could automatically save the current queue on close (like it already does) and/or the user could export different queues.

This also opens up possibilities such as being able to run batch uploads that are recurring tasks. For example, uploading the same 200 files spread out across 25 directories...

Example: Import Queue -> Select File -> Process Queue => Productivity Win!

Great product. Hopefully this is possible and simple enough to make it into a future release.

#4906 Default file action of overwrite if size/date different results in rename Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

From menu: transfer -> default file exists action. In uploads drop down select "Overwrite file if size differs or file is newer". Note that while I was documenting this problem I also discovered that the same thing happens when the default file action exists setting for upload is set for overwrite if different size or newer.

Upload file which does not meet this criteria. A dialog box occurs which asks to rename the file instead of skipping it.

Unfortunately the attached log does not show the fact of the rename dialog appearing and it being cancelled as it only shows that the file is being skipped. In fact the files being uploaded is the second time for them and should have been automatically skipped.

The attached log shows every file as being skipped but in fact the rename dialog was cancelled. Note that I aslso edited the log to remove server name/ip and user information

#4908 z/os uss directory/file errors Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

Problems with FileZilla client 3.2.8.1 and z/OS USS directories and files. These happen with servertype set to "default(autodetect)" or "MVS, OS/390, z/OS" in SiteManager.

If I issue a change directory for USS in z/OS, the FileZilla changes the second or later / to a . in the directory name.

Command: CWD msussl Response: 250 HFS directory /etc/msussl is the current working directory Command: PWD Response: 257 "/etc/msussl" is the HFS working directory.

At this point I really am in directory /etc/msussl but it displays in FileZilla as /etc.msussl

File transfers are also being messed up. Sending a file to /etc/msussl should end as /etc/msussl/file but FileZilla is sending it as /etc.msussl(file).

Command: STOR '/etc.msussl(CA.der)' Response: 125 Storing data set /etc.msussl(CA.der) Response: 250 Transfer completed successfully.

I use a desktop icon and hot-key of Ctrl-Shift-Z (I know, odd choice, but I doubt the choice matters for this bug) to start FileZilla. When I updated to 3.2.8.1, the installer over-wrote my desktop icon with a new, clean one.

The new icon lacks the hot-key setting. That's fine, I don't mind setting it up again. But the old hot-key setting is STILL ACTIVE -- sitting in the registry I guess. So there is no easy way to get rid of it. I uninstalled FileZilla altogether, then re-installed. Hot-key remained.

It is possible to open the icon, then Properties, then Shortcut: and type a new shortcut hot-key combination. Then I have two of them. If I try to enter ctrl-sh-Z at that point (for documentation, or because of naively trying to re-establish the hot key setting), then instead, instances of FileZilla keep opening.

#4910 Connecting to multiple Hosts Feature request high FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Greetings,

My name is Panduranga, I am from Bangalore, India, working as technology manager.

FileZilla is excellent software, I am using since its first version.

My feature request as follows: Can it be modified to handle multiple Hosts, in one instance? Currently if you need to connect to second host you need to kill first connection.

Best regards, Panduranga (http://www.resourcedesign.co.in)

#4911 ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server Bug report normal FileZilla Client outdated
Description

I still get this error even I disabled Windows Firewall.

What do you think I can do now ?

#4912 Failed to retrieve directory listing with Blue Coat FTP service (firewall) - starting from Filezilla version 3.2.4 Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

I've noticed connection failures in the more recent versions of Filezilla. The error that is shown is 'Failed to retrieve directory listing'.

Not all FTP sites are affected as far as I can see, only sites supporting MLSD are affected.

This issue was seen in 2 corporate networks (both using Blue Coat FTP service). As well Windows computers (Windows XP SP3 tested) as Linux computers (Ubuntu 8.10 tested) are affected.

Please find below some logs of different Filezilla versions. All versions older then version 3.2.4 seem to work fine. Please note for security reasonsm usernames, ipaddresses, filenames , ... have been modified in the log file.

#4915 Connect Error Bug report normal FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

I can connect to my web site just fine if I use Quick Connect. I put in the site ftp.blablabla.com the user name xxxxxxx the password xxxxx and port 990 hit connect and everything works fine.

When I try the exact same connect using the site manager with the exact same information it will not connect? I have triple checked all my login information and started from scratch many times with this new version, all to no avail.

This exact same login using the site manager worked just fine for a long time with older versions. So either I am doing something wrong, and I don't know what that is, or something has changed that has broken the File Manager for me.

Thanks Don

#4918 New file Feature request normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

Hi Filezilla,

First of all: thank you very much for this great tool! But I got a request: I tought, maybe it's a good idea when you add "New file" to the right-click menu on the server side. It would be something I would really often use.

Greetz, Boris

#4924 client not listening to resume settings Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

3.2.8.1 either

  • filezilla client is not listening to the settings I have in Edit|Settings to resume on upload (defaults on Transfer|Default file exists action...)
  • or filezilla client is choosing to do a STOR when it gets a ECONNRESET, which ruins my upload resumes.

my uploads take multiple days, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. quota is not a problem because that is not in the log for this file. I have been having this problem over and over. someone please fix.

here is the log section.

#4927 empty directory listing on AIX Bug report low FileZilla Client outdated
Description

FileZilla client shows empty dir listing in a non-empty directory on AIX. This happens approximately 9 times out of 10 if I repeatedly hit the refresh (F5). Sometimes it comes back with incomplete listing.

To me this sounds like a timing issue.

My local system is Windows XP. Remote host runs AIX.

uname -a

AIX ret4a046 3 5 00C1E7C04C00 unknown unknown AIX

Here is the help/about dump:

#4928 Search only works on first tab Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed

In case I connect to multiple servers at the same time using the new tab functionality in version 3.3.0-beta1 the search works only on the first tab. If I switch to an other tab and open the search dialog nothing happens after clicking on "Search".

#4932 automatic upload does not detect synchronized directory Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Steps: Open FileZilla for website using synchronized browsing. Edit and save a local file. Popup shows asking confirmation to upload edited file. When confirmed FileZilla transfers the file to the root-directory of the remote site, instead of the synchronized directory shown at the right-hand side.

#4933 Pane widths reset on New Tab Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Using 3.3.0-beta1 -- when opening a new tab, the widths of the four directory panes are reverted to defaults. These panes are the local site tree pane, local listing pane, remote site tree pane, remote listing pane. This happens with the layouts with horizontal spacing, e.g. all but classic.

Classic layout remains unaffected as it's only the horizontal layout that's reset to defaults.

#4934 Crash on layout change after closing tab Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Steps to reproduce, in 3.0.0-beta1:

  • Open FileZilla
  • Create a new tab
  • Close that tab
  • Under Settings > Interface > Layout, choose another layout

Causes a crash, then Dr Watson crashes, then Dr Watson crashes trying to crash Dr Watson :)

#4937 site manager doesn't allow moving connections to folder if list is long Bug report normal FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

I created a folder called "sites", which appears way down at the bottom of the list of connections.

I am able to move connections that fit in the window to the "sites" folder, but not anything outside the window.

the only workaround I have that I can think of is to edit the filezilla.xml file when filezilla is not running.

idea: some sort of "move to" button that brings up a folder tree list would be useful, where you could click on a particular folder. it would be nice if it remembered the last folder you clicked on.

#4939 Tab navigation enhancements Bug report low FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Suggest adding the following enhancements to navigation of tabs:

ctrl-tab should wrap around from the last tab to the first, vice versa for shift-ctrl-tab

ctrl-pgup/ctrl-pgdn should also switch tab, per Windows convetion

rolling the mousewheel over the tab bar should also switch tab -- not convention, but used in a few apps and very useful :)

#4940 CHMOD attributes not updated after changing them Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

I believe this is a bug and has been present in all versions that I have used, including 3.2.8.1

I am using XP Pro

After changing the access attributes of a Folder, the new attributes are not refreshed in the client. In this example the existing attributes before CHMOD were 755

Command: SITE CHMOD 777 wp-content Response: 200 SITE CHMOD command successful

Right click on the folder afterwards --> File attributes and it shows the old settings before CHMOD was applied (755). Close FZ and launch it again. It now displays the correct current attributes (777).

Thanks, Danny

#4942 Icons not updated in lasts versions of FileZilla Client Bug report normal FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

I do not remember which one, but one old version of FileZilla Client came with new fashioned icons (as seen in FileZilla web site). Where they are? When I installed FileZilla Client, I checked to install new icons, but I don't get them. Is this right or there is a bug when updating icons if you have installed a very old version? I tried to uninstall FileZilla completely, deleting all files under c:\program files\FileZilla FTP Client, reboot my PC and installa again; but the old icons remain.

#4943 Download of or deletion of folders not working Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Using 3.3.0-beta1, after using the program for a while to upload and download files and folders, when trying to delete a folder on the remote server, or download a folder, including the folder itself, from the remote server, FileZilla will just ignore the command.

Uploading local folders to remote server works fine. Renaming remote folders works fine. Dragging a remote folder into another remote folder is also fine. If I try to download the whole folder or delete the whole folder it will do nothing, not even attempt it, no errors.

I am using multiple tabs when this happens, I do not know if that has anything to do with it or not though. On initially starting the program, whether I have multiple tabs or not it works ok, then later on it will [seemingly randomly] stop working. Then the only way to download a folder is to create it on the local side manually, open it and download the files.

Note that if you select all files & folders in a folder and download, it will download the files and ignore the folders.

#4946 more than 1 connection to server Bug report blocker FileZilla Client outdated
Description

If I try to transfer files to or from a server that only accepts one connection to the server i continuously get disconnected and reconnected with the status message 421 I can't accept more than 2 connections as the same user. i think the way this could be fixed is to add a checkbox in the Site manager that disables more than 2 connections. another suggestion: you can make filezilla automatically change the state of the checkbox (permanently, not temporary) to checked when it finds at least two 421 errors per connection.

Also can someone put a move and copy function into filezilla, for working with files on the server side? thanks!

#4947 FTP Upload stops (similar to #4936) Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Using Version 3.2.8.1

Uploading PDFs appears hit and miss - mostly "miss". Tried uploading singly or as a batch with variable results - mostly "Failed". They appear to get so far in the transfer and time out. They also come up with screwy transfer rates - a file of 237,334 bytes has a transfer rate of 237.3 Kb/s

Uploads via a web based FTP app are successful (so I don't think it's the files' contents).

Has only happened with installation of latest version of FileZilla - no problems previously.

#4948 2 tabs: 1 tab works, other won't upload Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed

fixed in 3.3.0rc1

#4951 Cannot open remote directories after aborting connection and reconnecting to another Tim Kosse Bug report blocker FileZilla Client fixed
Description

FileZilla version: 3.3.0-rc1

Steps to reproduce this bug:

  • Connect to an FTP server that is nonexistant
  • Try to connect to an existing FTP server for the dialog box that shows two options on whether you want to create a new tab or abort connection and connect to the new server
  • Select the abort connection option and then try to open a directory.

#4954 Ver. 3.2.8.1 Drag and Drop to shell disabled Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Hi there! Thank you for providing a valuable and highly useful piece of software.

Just recently, I updated the program (version 3.2.8.1) and found that drag and drop functionality from the FTP file navigation pane to the windows shell was disabled. To clarify, when I try to drag a file to my desktop, my mouse pointer turns into the "unavailable" icon (circle with a line through it).

I've rebooted the pc, uninstalled and reinstalled the program, enabled the shell extention, modified my registry (according to the forums), and read through the existing tickets as well as the forum, and no solution has been identified as of yet. I can still navigate to the local folder in my left file navigation pane and download from there just fine. It's merely a matter of convenience.

Thanks for any & all help! I've attached my fzshellext.txt log, as recommended in the forum.

Yours, Chad

#4955 Uploaded files deleted upon upload to 0 files Bug report normal FileZilla Client outdated
Description

Uploading updates has become a nightmare. Reworked htm files go through the motions of uploading and appear for a moment on the remote server, and then they disappear leaving "0 files" in their place, and no other details of date/ upload as well.

I have tried various options in overwriting to no avail. I delete the blank file on the server and re-do, and fail again. I have had intermittent success.

Meantime I use the server-side software of my web host, but that will only work for HTML, not PDFs/Docs

#4956 Scroll Bar on Drop-Down of Sites in File Manager Feature request normal FileZilla Client wontfix
Description

I have over 100 sites in the file manager and the drop-down menu, which appears when you click the arrow by the site manager icon, descends down past the bottom of my screen. It would be great to have a scroll bar and a smaller drop-down menu.

As it stands to reach one of the lower sites I need to type the first letter until I find it, and it's often hard to see.

Thanks! This is a great program!

#4963 Drag and drop to trash (recycle bin) makes Filezilla crash Bug report normal FileZilla Client outdated
Description

Drag and drop of two files to the trash (recycle bin) makes Filezilla crash: a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" window pops-up, see the image attached. Filezilla closes once the [OK] button is clicked. Is it possible that the previous Ctrl+X of the files (there is no Ctrl+X in Filezilla...) contributed?

How to reproduce: not sure, happened once. Then I tried to reproduce it and it worked only the third time.

#4967 Trying to close busy tab freezes tab area display/interaction Bug report high FileZilla Client fixed
Description

FileZilla Client 3.3.0

This problem has to do with closing a tab while it is still attempting to connect to the server.

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Open A New Tab
  2. Connect to a server
  3. While still connecting (before first directory listing) attempt to close the tab. You should get a confirmation dialog since the tab is active.
  4. Click "No" on this confirmation dialog
  5. Attempt to use FileZilla.

In my experience, this freezes the tab area, while the rest of the UI works just fine. Even while the dialog is still open, the tab area is frozen until you hit "Yes", and remains frozen even after hitting "No". I don't even get the first directory listing.

#4968 Message Log contents spill over, displaying over Quick Connect bar and Toolbar Bug report high FileZilla Client rejected

#4969 Directory comparison doesn't work with multiple tabs Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

I am using version 3.3.0.

When you have multiple connection tabs, directory comparison only works for the first tab. Switching to the second tab leaves the directory comparison icon "pressed", and toggling it does not make directory comparison work in the second tab. Closing the first tab renders directory comparison inoperative.

Procedure:

  • Open a connection.
  • Open a second connection, in a tab.
  • Switch to first tab.
  • Click on "compare directories icon". Directories are compared.
  • Switch to second tab. [You can unclick the directory comparison icon or leave it clicked - it makes no difference]
  • Click on "compare directories icon". Directories are NOT compared.
  • Close first tab.
  • Click on "compare directories icon". Directories are NOT compared.

Alternate procedure:

  • Open a connection.
  • Open a second connection, in a tab.
  • Close first tab.
  • Click on "compare directories icon". Directories are NOT compared.

Work-around:

  • Restart FileZilla.
  • Only compare directories in the original first tab.

#4972 unable to see a specific directory (VxWorks version 5.4) Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected

#4974 Links in welcome dialog don't work Bug report normal FileZilla Client fixed
Description

Clicking a link in the welcome dialog of FileZilla 3.3.0 doesn't work correctly under Linux. On my PC (Crux 2.6), Opera gets started, although the default browser is Firefox. On my laptop (same system), FileZilla tries to start wine, which of course doesn't work. An explicit browser setting in the preferences is missing.

#4975 Remote and Local Directory Tree Toggle / not working Bug report low FileZilla Client duplicate
Description

These two toggles (Remote and Local Directory Tree Toggle) are located in the top bar under the Main Menu Bar. They both have a weird behavior. Both were OFF upon start.

The weird behavior appears as soon as the tabbed interface is activated or a little later on while using it.

This behavior is characterized by:

  • Clicking the button indents it (visual active state) but the panels for remote directory/local directory tree do not appear.
  • The buttons do not respond to any further requests once in this state.

I am using the latest version of filezilla (updated 10 min ago.)

I have restarted filezilla and the buttons work again until I create a new tab. Unless now only the "remote directory tree" is affected by the bug. The local directory switch works properly. Then I create a new tab once again and both toggles work properly again. Then again I leave one tab open (the tab-panel disappears) and create a new tab - the problems appear again.

Truly a strange thing.

#4978 Wrong file/directory name by server side. Bug report normal FileZilla Client rejected
Description

I connect to SCO UNIX ftp server. I use polish version of FileZilla Client. Files/directories with modification date in October ('październik' in polish) have wrong name in server side view panel. I can't use this files/directories (get, open, ...). I think diacritical character 'ź' is the reason for this bug. Name of directory is: 'mounth day time realname', for example: 'paź 21 9:21 adm' (modification date of this file/directory is 21st October)

Example of this situation you can see on attached picture.

Sorry for my English.

#4979 No password asked on Server->Reconnect (Ctrl + R) Bug report blocker FileZilla Client worksforme
Description

I connect to a FTP via "Quick Connect" or using the "Site Manager" (in Spanish "Conexión rápida" and "Gestor de Sitios", respectively), then disconnect and close FileZilla and open FileZilla again, pressing Ctrl + R automatically reconnects to the last ftp server, without asking password.

I have not told filezilla to save any password, nor did in the past. I tried to Quick Connect to a server I've never connected in the past, and then closing, opening and reconnecting still did the login without password.

If I don't have told explicitly to do so, FileZilla should not remember any password. So, even at 'Reconnect', FileZilla should ask me for the password.
