Hello. Since FZ knows when iv'e saved a file (because it prompts if i want to upload changes) what about an option to always upload? subsequent changed files get queued and uploaded one by one until queue is clear or user cancels process.

Immediately upon connecting and at the time that the local site and remote site locations are displayed the scrolling message log listing overwrites the toolbar and quickconnect bars. I'm using 3.7.3 on Windows 7 Home Premium w/service pack 1. System is an Asus notebook k53f/k63f series with 4mb 64-bit operating system.

When you try to right click and rename a file in the FTP window of the remote server the whole client freezes , you can't upload files , edit files or close the app without killing the app in system monitor.

Other applications on the mac automatically move to the primary (laptop) screen when disconnecting external monitors. Combined with the inability to move the screen around this results in an invisible client's window.

I often have to work in directories with thousands of files. You filter feature is quite good. But I would need to quickly change the filter.

For example: one time I search for files like *AD?1234.csv one minute later I need *AB?1234.csv, or *AD?1235.csv

It would be nice to have such an option in the toolbar (“Werkzeugleiste”)

Every time i need to login in my cpanel and compress/decompress a file or folder.

This happens to me farely often, I will click a file slowly twice usually by accident, and then right click (my initial intended action). If you right click in that text box that appears after the slow double click it freezes everything. I can still Exit through global menu but that is about it.

I think i am an overclicker so this may not have come up for other people :)

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 and filezilla 3.7.3 I have had this issue for a long time over several versions of each.

Just tested on OSX and it is not an issue there.

Hello, I very strong request following future: when moving a file or a directory in the server side window, there should a warning dialog; i.e. like: "Want you really move xxx to the destination yyy" [YES] [CANCEL]

Why is this important? Because there can be a lot of trouble when you using FTP on a virtual server as root (where you can not connect other to do admin transfers) and unintended move i.e. some library directory. Just some mouse wipe, and ups, later on you searching what has happened an get a lot of trouble. With a warning you would get in attention what happened and you can stop the move with CANCEL before it has started. I look for this future in FileZilla since years ago. My old FTP-Client WS_FTP form 2001 had implemented this behavior. I could bye a new WS_FTP version but I would more like to use FilleZilla. But without any warning it is to dangerous for me to use FileZilla. I think it is not very complicated to realize this. In addition there could a option in the properties dialog to activate and deactivate this Move-Warning-Dialog; because some do not like it.

As the summary says, this would make it a lot easier to verify which files were actually uploaded. I often use "Skip if same filesize" which, has happened that it skipped a file I wanted to upload because they had exactly the same filesize. It's also just generally nice to see which files were uploaded.

I edit files in a windows environment. The file extension tells the editor how to behave. The target platform is legacy, where a filename has 1-8 characters only. Request example for copy file from windows to legacy: FILENAM1.CBL -> FILENAM1. Also: FILENAM2.SBL -> FILENAM2. Example for copy file from legacy to windows: PROGNAM1-> PROGNAM1.CBL (only one possibility here). WinFTP Pro has this feature. See also ticket 5400. Thanks.

The ability to rearrange and organize tabs would be very useful. I like to open several FTP connections to several load balanced servers simultaneously with identical folder structures, for instance:

ServerA --model --view --controller ServerB --model --view --controller ServerC --model --view --controller

It would be good if I could drag tabs to organise all models to be next to each other without having to close and reopen.

Internet plans (like mine) have sometimes different capacities in different hours of the day and night. Would it be possible to set the time to start for downloading/sending files from/to remote server at a certain time? For instance, I have a limit of my LTE connection for 35 GB a month plus another 50 GB between 1 a.m. to 7.a.m. As a journalist and a photographer I have to send pretty big graphic files to my editor, so with my internet plan it would be more convenience to set a time shift in sending these files during the night time.... Five years ago (Ticket #4565) this request was rejected, with the conclusion "On a secured computer plain text passwords are secure".

There is no such thing as a secured computer, and recent events prove this without doubt.

If you trust your door lock, then you may conclude that you dont need to lock drawers, but in reality you do: you are protecting at different levels; you may want your kid not to have access to the drawer but you still give him a key to your house. The drawer lock may not be foolproof, but it does deter from prying.

Website data needs a drawer-level security.

Stating that "A (security) chain is only as strong as its weakest link" does not mean that making things more difficult to an intruder is useless.

I wish the developers take a different stand on this issue. Until then, I will replace FileZilla with a client more respectful of this point of view.

In FileZilla there is an option to pause downloading files by clicking on process queue, but it stops all files to be downloaded.

Is it possible to stop just a single file while downloading?

It is oftenly required when we're downloading a lot of files of large sizes and for some duration want to use internet bandwidth for another purpose than downloading multiple files at a time.

When launching Filezilla (versions 3.7x and later) the position of the window is fixed. I cannot drag the window or resize it.

Workaround: I have to click out of the window and back in multiple times before I am allowed to reposition the window on the screen.

This started around six months ago and it hasn't been fixed as of the latest version (3.8.1).

So basically there would be another field in the Site Manager generals tab, that would you let input a 'tab name' that is then displayed in the tab of that particular connection. S

Awesome new feature to automatically download updates to FileZilla, however, instead of in the user'sDownloads folder, the archive ends up in Documents instead. Only a minor nuisance, but still I think this should be corrected.

Can you add link to putty into filezilla settings and add icon for execution to the panel? Like it's realized in winscp. If connection type is sftp, then if click on icon, then putty opens this connection with current auth params.

I am using Filezilla version 3.9.0-beta1 and I get the following when closing Filezilla if I ever had a file open which may or may not of been already closed.

[Filezilla Error] File 'C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Temp\fz3temp-1\empty_file_yq744zm' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation conpleted successfully.)

This isn't a show stopper more of an annoyance, I have also added steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce: 1: Connect to server using FTP and Type Normal. 2: Open any file for View/Edit. 3: Close file viewer/editor with the file opened in step 2. 4: Now close Filezilla. 5: You will be told by Filezilla that some files are still being edited or need to be uploaded, even though they are no longer open. 6: Click on the Yes button. 7: Now a Error dialog pops up with above error.

This never happened in the last version of Filezilla and I always update as soon as I am told Filezilla has been updated.

Hi all! I read many tickets related to this issue, but no solution. We have 5 different PCs with Windows 8.1 Pro. On all PCs FileZilla is very slow when listing network folders and files, and increases going deeper into the tree of the folders, until every single file or folder (!) appears every half a second. It 's very difficult to browse folders and scroll through the lists in these conditions. FileZilla is fast on local directories. Do you have an idea or a worksaround? Thank you!

Filezilla asks what to do, but the file is already deleted and should be handled as a new file - without showing the dialog if the user want to overwrite/resume etc.

In CuteFTP there are up buttons for both the client and the server panels. The other button is a bookmarks button which is CuteFTP's version of synchronized browsing.

Adding an up button just to the right of the drop-down menus for both the client and the server would eliminate the need for an unnecessary extra click and really make navigation slick because of synchronized browsing. Putting the up button on top of the grey background like the labels with the drop-down menu in between would probably be the best way to achieve visual consistency. Additionally since it seems customization is important the ability to remove the button via the 'View' menu would be great for those who want to remove the button.

The last 2 versions of FileZilla have downloaded to the wrong directory. (3.8.1 & 3.9.0) When a new version is available, I get a dialog stating that a new version is available and has been downloaded to my Downloads folder. This is not the case. Instead the versions are being downloaded to my Documents folder.

I would expect the archive to be downloaded to my Downloads folder, since this is where everything else ends up. (preferred) Or I would expect the dialog to tell me that the downloads are in my Documents folder.

FileZilla is overriding system preferences (Win 8.1 Pr 64)and using month/day/year rather than day/month/year. Started in 3.9.0 and is in current build 3.9.0.1

I installed the latest FileZilla Client 3.9.0.1 yesterday, and every time I open a new directory now the screen goes black for a second, and I get a warning that says the Windows driver had recovered from a problem. If I try to do anything even slightly complex, I get the blue screen of death and have to restart (x3 so far today). Hopefully a patch will come through to correct this issue. Sorry, I wish I knew something more specific to tell you, but please email me if I can help.

I updated to FileZilla 3.9.0.1 today and am now accidentally downloading a ton of files because if you left click and then immediately right click a file it's treated as a double left click and is downloaded. Normally I will left click a file, then right click so I can edit it and this is disrupting my workflow pretty significantly because I have to wait several seconds before right clicking so I don't accidentally download it.

As of the recent update to 3.9.0.1, when I connect to a site, my screen goes black and windows reports that the display adapter has crashed. It then comes back on with FileZilla not as the window in focus, but still open and I can push/pull files at that point. If I click F5 to refresh a directory listing the same thing happens.

Hi, since the last release (3.9.0.1), the focus on the last selected file ist lost if I use another app and come back to Filezilla. This is frustrating as I need to use the mouse to select the file again. A similar problem occurs when I open the Site Manager : i cannot simply press "Enter" anymore to connect to the last Site I connected to. It was also possible with the previous release.

I've updated filezilla to 3.9.0.1 and all my sites under 'site management' where lost.

I use a symlink to a dropbox account to sync my sites over several computers. When i copy the sitemanager.xml to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla everything works. However, when I create a symlink from that location to the dropbox location, no sites are available.

It worked like a charm in the previous version, can you fix it?

same bug as ticket #9658 installed newest 3.9.0.1 it crashes the display driver every 3-4 clicks with the mouse. Then it recovers itself and you can continue using Filezilla. Error has to do with the Filezilla version 3.9.0.1 program, not the display driver. Even though you rejected the previous ticket.

Tried to find an older version, but not yet succesful.I am sure that will also solve the problem for me, but it is not my ideal solution.

I generally like copying pasting paths in the local site / remote site path between my tabs. This was possible until the latest version came out. It's now no longer possible in the MAC Filezilla client. Is that a bug or a feature that was removed?

After upgrade Filezilla to version 3.9.0.1 i've notice, that sometimes when i "right click" (two fingers) on my macbook with maverics 10.9.4 filezilla recognize it like left click (one finger click). In the prev version, all works well. But if i click again it works ok.

When adding to queue to download, I got this message. See screenshot.

The item is indeed added to the queue ok. When leaving Filezilla, also get the message.

I use FZ 3.9.0.2 in Windows 7, service pack 1, 64 bit edition.

i recently upgraded to 3.9.0.1 and then 3.9.0.2 version. when i start downloading using filezilla, my screens turns black i.e. flickering starts and sometimes i get memory dump error too. earlier i was using "FileZilla_3.8.1_win32-setup.exe" file and it was working very smooth. but with upgrades 3.9.0.1/3.9.0.2 versions, unable to complete my work.

When browsing the "local site" file browser using only a keyboard, the focus is lost after the "Target file already exists" dialog is closed.

The focus jumps into the "host" field forcing the user to either use the mouse or press TAB many times until the focus is back in the local site file browser.

Same thing also happens when browsing the "remote site" file browser and downloading a file. The focus jumps to the field "host" after hitting RETURN in the "Target already exists" dialog.

my Filezilla window moved out of my screen upwards today and I wasn't able to rearrange it. Even when I uninstalled and reinstalled Filzilla I couldn't place the window so that I could see the Icons in the top part..

It worked finally when I installed an older version and then there came a informtion window telling me that there is a newer verison available, which for some reasen also rearranged the main filezilla window into place. (took me about 3h to get there)

Most of the other programs have the menu called "window" next to "help" where there is a function called "zoom", which rearranges the window to fullscreen. This would be great

when adding a private key of SFTP , if you adding a key from an Unicode path, meaning, path with Hebrew folder names and space between the name. filezilla client will not connect to the server with that key. only from English no space path. please add a Unicode and space at names in folder for adding a key, and maybe for other things that i miss. Since version 3.9.0.2 (on Mac OS X) FZ automatically actives "Host" input in the upper area of screen. That's disturbing, because I need to select manually files with mouse. In previous versions I just tapped enter and file uploaded. Thanks!

I read a closed ticket with the same issue that I started getting on my Alienware laptop as well. The only program on my computer that creates the display driver issue is Filezilla. I don't know how coincidental it is that I also got this issue as the other person. Even with the recent update it's still doing it. I've never had this issue before.

Filezilla window is off screen, top left. Can't see close/zoom red yellow green buttons or window header.

Probably related to me having two monitors (one 1920p main monitor, smaller MacPro laptop acting as second monitor).

Most apps have a Window menu with the zoom option so I can fix this, FileZilla doesn't. Tried closing and opening the app. Tried changing desktop res. No go.

When using FileZilla, I randomly get an error message stating that filezilla.xml could not be removed, then in brackets it says the file was removed successfully. See the attached file for a screenshot.

I can't tell what causes this error - it seems to just have begun happening since 3.9.0 was released and sometimes occurs when changing directories, starting an upload, completing an upload, or switching back to the application when using something else. It appears to have no effect on the operation of the software - it's just an annoying error message that frequently appears.

To help conserve network bandwidth, a great feature would be to have the speed limits change based on the time of day entered by the user. These would change automatically based on the system clock and the user-defined times.

For example, let's say that between 6AM-11PM we have the family using the internet and we don't want to have filezilla taking all the bandwidth. We do want to allow filezilla to have no speed limit after 11PM but the next day, at 6AM, we want the limit to return:

When using the remote file search - the result in the dialog window can not be downloaded nor deleted.

When clicking on a file in the result of my search I normally get two options: Download or Delete - but when clicking one of them - the sub-window does not open. There is no action at all.

I use a helper in my macbook and when I close the lid of it and turn off the monitor when you reopen the lid and turn on the monitor toolbar display remains hidden. Ai can not drag the window filezilla. What I realized is that most applications for Mac possesses a menu called "Window", this menu is to minimize the window options, restore, etc ... could you put this option for those occasions

I had to downgrade to 3.8.1 from both 3.9.0.1 3.9.0.3 Only 3.8.1 was stable against a problem I started to have with the new version with the display driver. Every time the display needed to refresh using FileZilla, like connecting to server or confirming overwrite, the display would go black before FileZilla next screen refreshes and the display driver recovers and shows the new screen

I have been unable to connect to my Yahoo server for the last 3 or 4 days. I have checked my password, and it is correct. I installed the latest version of Filezilla today and I ma still getting the same error. I have been looking for FileZilla Server for Linux everywhere, but so far, no one has created or compiled a version. I checked the forums, but everything I saw was related to the Client software.

Filezilla seems to install the update in normal operating mode but every time i close the app and then open it again it want's to upgrade to version current. this installation is accepted for the duration of the usage but when the program is closed and opened again the update is no longer active.

Although, when you run it in Admin mode it works well.

PS; you guys are really kidding when you have the reams and reams of information how to submit a fault report? Do you really think people are going to read all that to fix a fault? It's easier to get a different product.... Please consider.

I often come across a website helpful enough to provide a clickable link to an FTP service, however, FileZilla doesn't appear to know that it can open these, at least on my computer.

Could we register FileZilla as a URL handler for FTP, SFTP, and FTPES hyperlinks, to make it easier to open them?

A client of mine loaded Filezilla - most recent version on his new computer. His IT guy discovered it had a lot of malware attached. It was downloaded from Filezilla webpage (not a third party) and "client" was chosen. All my staff and a good portion of my clients use Filezilla to access my FTP site - this could be potentially very harmful for me.

Can you add the button on top panel that hides pc local drives? I know you already have one button, but it hides only one panel and the other one stays on place.

I’m a webmaster, and a daily user of Filezilla.

BUT: Every time a install a new version, Malware software gets installed without any option of not to select. The product is something called Optimizer Pro.

Every time I have a lot of work getting rid of that stuff.

1) Uninstall work ok 2) My Antimalware product (runs every day) gives results as shown below 3) Spybot gives results as show below, even after uninstall, so traces remain in registry!

Today again an email for a new Filezilla version, but I think I will remain on the old(er)version, or even swith to another cleaner ftp software.

On launching the past two or three versions of FileZilla the top menu bar of the program is not visible. There is no way to "drag the window" to make it visible. It is somehow being blocked by the system menu bar, therefore there is no way to "quick connect."

This must be a compatibility issue with the very latest Mac OS because I don't have this problem on another machine that has not yet been updated with the latest OS.

Also, "component" select menu (below this window) was not allowing me to select the component, which I believe is "client." Seems to work when previewing the ticket.

When i use the "synct" option in the client, both local and remote folders are synct in browsing. But when a folder on one site doesn't exists you get a warning/error message to disable sync browsing or cancel.

Now, i really hate that feature because if a folder doesn't exists, 9 out of 10 times you want it to add it to the currect folder structure so both online and offline are exctly the same.

So the Request in this case is to skip the warning/error message and give a popup with the oppertunity to sync that particulair file or folder so that both on-and off-line version is the same. With a button to cancel this option ofcourse.

Well that says it all . But for more clarity: If you are FTP connected to a website you also have a (to be configured in FileZilla Client) dedicated driveletter or driveletters (multiple sites). This would be very helpfull with editing files.

It would be great if have a option copy HTTP link(s) to clipboard.

I supposed to be doing a new feature request but I saw that many others already did this request, one of them 8 years ago!

the ticket number #2591 are supposed to be fixed but this feature are still not yet implemented on the last version I am using (3.9.0.5 - windows).

Sorting columns in queued files doesn't not work. I tried to sort by file size or any other colums and it didn't work

Starting point:

I've got Filezilla client open on a macBook with an attached Thunderbolt display. The lid of the macBook itself is closed, so only the Thunderbolt display is active. The Filezilla client is positioned normally somewhere in the center of the screen.

Actions:

Now I disconnect from the Thunderbolt display and I take the macBook with me. In a meeting I'm using the macBook normally, without any other displays attached (I didn't check the position of the Filezilla client). When returning to my desk, I connect the macBook to the Thunderbolt display, and then the Filezilla client has itself poisitioned mostly out of the screen. I can't change the location in any way anymore.

Steps to reproduce:

• connect to a server
• on the local side (left), select a few folders
• right-click and upload

Expected result:

• for each folder, it should OBVIOUSLY first create the folder, then upload the files.

Observed results:

• for each folder, systematically, the "put" command to upload the first file in the folder is sent BEFORE the mkdir command to create the folder. So, unless the folder already existed on the server, that file upload gives an error and is not uploaded.

ALSO, whenever a file gives an error it should be kept in the queue so that you can retry!!!

This level of unreliability make FileZilla completely unusable. You have to check all the files one by one, because there may have been any such random error and you wouldn't even know.

I think this is a regression. I have used FileZilla for ages and had never seen such a thing before.

Example log when uploading a folder called "runtime" within one called "protected":

We are getting ready to start implementing AppLocker in our environment. We use FileZilla extensively. Can you guys start entering your signature into the EXEs you create? The publisher information. This will help on allowing people in our organizing to be able to update their own Clients without the IT department needing to be involved everytime you do an update. working w/ two external monitors on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite and FZ client 3.9.0.6 is sometimes only showing lower half of FZ window. Other upper half is out of monitor. Could be a Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite bug as well.

When going through the install process for the client on OS X, MacKeeper is installed. This shouldn't happen.

Since the major update on FileZilla version 3.9.0 the performance became very poor and the GUI very unresponsive during file transfers. I found a similar ticket here in #9667.

I tested this doing a FTP file transfer (10 simultaneous transfers) of 4403 files in 337 subdirectories with a total size of 42,3 MB with the following results: FileZilla 3.9.0.6: Took about 8 minutes to do the transfer and the GUI was very unresponsive during the transfer.

FileZilla 3.8.1: Took lees than 2 minutes and the GUI was totally responsive during the whole transfer.

I currently decided to roll back to version 3.8.1 until this is fixed.

Thought it strange that the automatic Filezilla client updates are finding their way to my ~/Documents folder instead of ~/Downloads

Guessing this is just a "typo" or something, as downloading an application into the Documents folder doesn't make a whole lot of sense!

Hello people of filezilla, I recently designed from scratch a brand new Icon theme for filezilla. I'd be very happy if it will be avalable for all.. (I want the icons to be used only for the Filezilla project.)

also on a differnt note I was wondering how much is the project open for changes(?) seeing that the UI of the program could use an upgrade or two.

those 3rd-party open source software offers during installation actually sometimes are malware. not sure what percentage. but I would avoid them all, a lot of them look pretty questionable in concept.

please remove the 3rd-party software installs and leave filezilla a plain filezilla (and safe from the 3rd-party malware we all have to avoid now).

My hard drive recently crashed and I had to do a factory reset to get back up and running. This also meant re-installing all the programs. (thanks to Carbonite for saving our data).

After re-installing FileZilla we're now experiencing black outs as the "Display Adapter Fails" then recovers. We also use HighTail and TeamViewer with no problems.

We're running a Dell quad processor machine with the standard "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family" on board video driver. The driver is current and up to date. We didn't have this problem before the crash so I can't be certain where the problem lies. My system checks out fine with all trouble shooting tools.

It would be useful if you could move open tabs around (like in Google Chrome etc)

I tried to fix this problem all over google. Some reason when ever I try to conenct to FileZilla my screen goes black for a good 5-10 seconds then I get a blue screen. I can't find any solution I downloaded multiple versions of FileZilla and nothing worked.

If I select "Always use this action" checkbox, it is not remembered. Next time I upload the same file the checkbox is unchecked.

Hey, guys. I use Filezilla regularly, no issues and love it..until today. After installing your latest update, any attempts to connect to my file share result in it hanging after MLSD when it returns two errors:

Connection timed out Failed to retrieve directory listing

i just updated Filezilla 3.10.0 and now none of my 20 or so website will download any files, it keeps timing out.

I'f there is no quick fix can i some how roll back to the last version?

It won't be anything my end ass my websites are with many different servers and i am a long term user of Filezilla

After installing v3.10.0, every file upload attempt fails with "Could not start transfer".

Hello I downloaded the latest FTB your client and tried to link to my friend's FTP, and he does not care. The server has certified but is not valid, that is, when I go into my friend's panel appears the "https" in red. Try to fix this if I have to go back to the old version.
