I've just updated to the latest version of FileZilla. Now it times out everytime and I have been unable to do a successful upload. I know it's the version of FileZilla at fault, because I then tried again, on my laptop, with the previous version still installed and succeeded without any problem at all. Up to this morning I have had no difficulties with Filezilla either when uploading or downloading to a site I have been using for year. This morning I updated Filezilla. Immediately I had a popup notice informing me that the licence to this site was not recognised. The notice allowed me to override this. However, I noticed that the check box allowing me to indicate that this site can be trusted in future had not been enabled.

The site I am trying to connect to is run by Freeola.com, and I was attempting a connection to vip4.freeola.net.

After upgrading to the latest version of Filezilla, 3.10.0, it no longer allows me to download or edit files on servers.

The status claims success: Status: File transfer successful, transferred 1,017 bytes in 1 second

This behavior happens regardless of how I download the file (right click download, drag & drop, right click and "edit")

When I drag and drop, it appears in the target folder briefly, but disappears.

Cannot connect with quick connect, always timeout. In site Manager, I can connect but everytime must enter password even the remember password box is check. This problem only happens with this new version. How to correct?

around version 3.10.0, Encryption on all Site Manager connections get reset on the upgrade to Use explicit FTP over TLS if available. it's a real pain to put them back on 200 entries one by one. I begin to wonder if somehow the setting in the XML file got globally set to this new value or the encryption setting simply got ignored due to a bug either in reading or writing the xml file.

if I change the entry, it stays changed, so I am guessing it only happened during the upgrade process.

yesterday I got the update 3.10.0-rc1, and every time I try to upload a file the program start the uploading, then finish the uploading, then start the uploading again, the file never appear in the screen.

With the new update, the program started to show security certificate warnings and couldn't connect to the server. (It tries but times out.)

No idea what is causing it, pretty sure it is introduced with the last release though.

Version 3.9.0.6 .has been working just fine. I updated to version 3.10 on my desktop iMac (about 1 year old). Now when I connect to my ftp site using Site Manager nothing happens on the right hand side - it simply says Not connected to any server, If try again using Site Manager I get "FileZilla is already connected".

I've gone back to the previous version so I am able to keep working.

I use public key authentication for sftp. When files are transferred with FileZilla Client 3.10.0 file permission are not being set properly. They are being set to 000. Previous versions handled the permissions correctly.

Hello I downloaded the latest FTB your client and tried to link to my friend's FTP, and he does not care. The server has certified but is not valid, that is, when I go into my friend's panel appears the "https" in red. Try to fix this if I have to go back to the old version.

After installing v3.10.0, every file upload attempt fails with "Could not start transfer".

FileZilla 3.10.0 release build fails on FreeBSD due to missing errno.h include in engine/file.cpp and engine/process.cpp. Patch to correct is attached. Patch follows the pattern that errno.h is included into .cpp files which require it.

After upgrading to the latest release, I am now presented with a Unknown certificate dialog window. The 'Always trust certificate in future sessions' is disabled and cannot be selected.

Although I connect to the requested site by just clicking OK on the dialog page, transfers fail with a response message of: 550 The supplied message is incomplete. The signature was not verified.

Prior to upgrade, I was able to connect and ftp files to the requested site without problems.

I tried un-installing and then installing the latest release, but still have the same problem.

Something is amiss with the latest release 3.10.0 of FileZilla. I have always downloaded and installed the latest version. Today when I did that, FileZilla stopped working. Can you let me know the fix, or point me to somewhere that I can download the previous version? I am still running the previous version on my backup laptop, and FileZilla works on that one. Server has not changed. Only FileZilla has changed, and this is the result:

Today when I launched Filezilla it asked me to update it. After the upgrade to new version I got error connecting to the ftp server. I checked with other people and they have no problem connecting . Filezilla version is 6.1. 2015-01-07. I attached the complete error messages to this ticket. Please advice.

Hey, guys. I use Filezilla regularly, no issues and love it..until today. After installing your latest update, any attempts to connect to my file share result in it hanging after MLSD when it returns two errors:

I just upgraded to the latest filezilla version and it's broken.

When I log on to a server now it errors out trying to list the directory. If I uninstall this version and re-install 3.9.06, it works fine.

Hi, When browsing on my local site in FileZilla, I could not find all of my folders. If I wrote the address to the folder manually then it would work. It turns out, the folders I have changed the Icon for dont appear, and if I remove the icon the appear again.

If I select "Always use this action" checkbox, it is not remembered. Next time I upload the same file the checkbox is unchecked.

I have Filezilla 3.9.0.5 x64, but the automated update installed 3.9.0.6 x86. Also my current version (3.9.0.5 x64) won't be uninstalled during the update process.

Since 3.10.0-rc1, every time I upload an existing file, it asks me, for EVERY file, what I want to do (overwrite, etc).

Even if I put "Always use this action", it will keep asking me for every file.

In settings, the "File Exists action" is always to overwrite.

Didn't happen in previous versions. Is still happening in 3.10.0-rc2.

I have 84 Folders and 12 sub folder in each Folder. I need to transfer 5 files to each of the folder and sub folder is there a way to do this ?

I really love the right click - "Copy URL(s) to clipboard" but I always have to go back and paste the password into the link. It would be great to either have it as an additional right click option ("Copy URL(s) to clipboard *with password*"), or have a switch (in settings?, with security warnings?) to have "Copy URL(s) to clipboard" include the password.

Since updating to version 3906 an error message often shows up during use or when closing the program.

I have a local server running Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10, connected to my Win7 Pro with the Windows "connect a network drive" functionality. I'm connecting filezilla on a distant ftp host using my Network Drive on OSX as "Local Site".

Before i upgrade my Mac OSX Server to Yosemite 10.10, no issue. But after Yosemite upgrade, i am sometimes not able to get the Mac OSX Network Drive files list.

After a lot of tries, i get was is causing this issue : when the directory has more than 100 elements inside, i can't get the file list. Less than 100 elements, no issue.

FileZilla crashes reproducibly when going to "Computer". It does not matter whether I select it from local directory tree or whether I go up in local file list from the root of a drive (by double-clicking "..").

I tried to fix this problem all over google. Some reason when ever I try to conenct to FileZilla my screen goes black for a good 5-10 seconds then I get a blue screen. I can't find any solution I downloaded multiple versions of FileZilla and nothing worked.

The last time that I updated the Compila hosted site was 29th November 2014 so would have used version 3.9.0.6 at that time.

I reported the problem to 'support' at Compila and they could find nothing wrong and could access the servers with my website files on.

I have always updated to the latest Filezilla version and in this case have solved my problem by reverting to version 3.9.0.6 - all now works fine. There seems to be a possible bug with version 3.10.0.

My hard drive recently crashed and I had to do a factory reset to get back up and running. This also meant re-installing all the programs. (thanks to Carbonite for saving our data).

After re-installing FileZilla we're now experiencing black outs as the "Display Adapter Fails" then recovers. We also use HighTail and TeamViewer with no problems.

We're running a Dell quad processor machine with the standard "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family" on board video driver. The driver is current and up to date. We didn't have this problem before the crash so I can't be certain where the problem lies. My system checks out fine with all trouble shooting tools.

When clicking sitemanager icon this error is coming up, (see attached file)

In Ubuntu 14.10 if i connect to an ftp server and start renaming the files suddenly filezilla wont allow me to type anything. This bug dosent exist in Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.

i use F2 to rename files and this is still possible to use. Also i can click in the name of a file and move the marker and mark text with the mouse, but i cant erase the names or type new text in the names. This happend very shortly after. If i connect to the ftp find a file and mark it for editing/renaming and go over in a browser or folder on my machine suddenly when i come back filezilla kinda freezes.. only thing to do is close filezilla and start it again and this happens everytime.. i cant even have filezilla open for 5 minutes and conencted..

I tried to debug filezilla, but the debug dosent catch anything related to what im doing.. (i will try to get some debug/logging that could be useful, but maby you just need to run Ubuntu 14.10 64 bit and rename files on your ftp.. when i enabled debug/logging it took longer time before it did freeze.

those 3rd-party open source software offers during installation actually sometimes are malware. not sure what percentage. but I would avoid them all, a lot of them look pretty questionable in concept.

please remove the 3rd-party software installs and leave filezilla a plain filezilla (and safe from the 3rd-party malware we all have to avoid now).

Hello. Here is the scenario. In the remote directoy the file that I want to download is being builded (an sql backup) and the size displayed for Filezilla Client is X. then when I note in the SSH terminal that the dump has been finished, I proceed to download with FileZilla client, and the issue here is that Filezilla uses the size of the file detected the last time reviewed, and not the final size (then an incorrect file size is displayed in the progress of the file that is being downloaded).

I have successfully used Filezilla in the past with all the same settings. Since the last update I have not been able to retrieve the directory listings. I can access the FTP site via Windows Explorer and via browser with no issues. Tried Cute FTP which also worked well Below is the debug report from logging in. I am using an HP8560 FileZilla Client

I am running fz Client on 1 pc with win 7 and on another pc i am running win 8 with fz server. i am trying to connect the two... I have made the connection but when i try to create a new file i get an error..

when i "View/Edit" file with same file name, when i upload the last edited file it overwrite the first one.

details :

1. "View/Edit" on a file, (i use Brackets code editor).
2. edit that file, Save, and return back to FileZilla, it will display a message that file have been edited, upload that file.
3. navigate to other directory, find the same file name, "View/Edit" that file like in step 2. return back to fileZilla, upload it.

4 check the file, in my case the first edited file is overwrited by the last edited file. the last edited file is no chages.

When I use the Manage Bookmarks feature, the items are ordered case insensitively. When I close the Bookmark manager, I see that the bookmarks are ordered case sensitively. I think this should be standardized to case insensitive. When you have the time ;)

Filezilla client 3.9.0.6

With some files, overwrite is confirmed but although the date of the file changes, the content does not. Also the file size remains the same.

When I drag a file from local site to the remote site it prompts me for action. I select overwrite like I always have. Filezilla shows the upload progression and status. It gets to 100% and the actions window pops up again. If you select overwrite, the whole process starts again. If you hit cancel, it does cancel, but the file is always incomplete and not upload fully.

If on the actions screen I choose "always do this" in addition to the overwrite. Filezilla will just keep going through the process over and over automatically. It will keep doing it with no end.

WTF! I am only running the automatic autoupdater within the application already running in my system! and running the proposed package!

Buddy of mine runs a server that doesn't allow password authentication at all, only allows public-private key exchange. Since the keyfile is password-protected I've got Pageant set up and working for PuTTY for shell access, but FileZilla doesn't want to cooperate.

I tried using this same Pageant/Filezilla/key combo to get onto my webserver, which has the same pub key installed (but allows password authentication as well if I choose to use it), and everything works. I can paste that logfile also if needed.

I believe this to be similar to ticket #8934 (​http://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/8934) but since that never got resolved I guess I don't know for sure. In the logs below, I've modified the server name by inserting SERVER where relevant to mask a portion of it.

You can produce this situation with:

• gigabit connectivity

Thought it strange that the automatic Filezilla client updates are finding their way to my ~/Documents folder instead of ~/Downloads

Guessing this is just a "typo" or something, as downloading an application into the Documents folder doesn't make a whole lot of sense!

Auch wurden Log Daten über einen längeren Zeitraum aus dem Shop gelöscht. Um Daten hoch zu laden hatte mein damaliger Kollege Herr Zedler den File Zilla Client Version 3.7.3.0 genutzt. Alle Verlinkungen die auf diesem Flyer waren wurde auf Grund einer Unterlassung zwischen dem 20.7-26.7.2013 gelöscht. Der Flyer selber blieb allerdings weiterhin auf dem Server. Da mir auch Log Daten im Shop durch Hacker gelöscht wurden ist es mir leider nicht möglich das dementsprchende Datum ermitteln zu können. Meine große Hoffnung liegt nun darin das es eventuell möglich ist die Daten über File Zilla Datenbank auslesen zu können. Entweder über den Server von curativo.eu oder aber über den Server von promoringa.de Ich bin selber absolut unerfahren im Bereich der Server und von daher wirklich sehr dringend auf Ihre Hilfe angewiesen diesen Vorgang klären zu können. Ich bitte Sie mich diesbezüglich zu unterstützen. Leider habe ich keine anderen Möglichkeiten dieses klären zu können. Im Betrieb arbeite ich alleine das ich zur Zeit auch hier auch keine Unterstützung erhalten kann.

Various websites such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Imgur allow users to upload files by dragging and dropping files directly on to the browser window. However, trying to upload a file by dragging it from FileZilla into the browser window results in the following error.

"Could not determine the target of the Drag&Drop operation. Either the shell extension is not installed properly or you didn't drop the files into an Explorer window."

Would it be possible to add support for dragging a file into a browser window for file uploads?

FTPS stopped working in the new update for FileZilla.

In looking into this issue for you, it would appear that the issue is related to the FTP client you are using when trying to upload files. I was able to replicate the issue using Filezilla. In speaking with one of my Tier 3 Tech Support Agents, I was informed that there is a know issue currently with Filezilla and other clients with uploading files using FTPS. They advised that I try a different FTP client such as CuteFTP to complete the upload using FTPS. I downloaded CuteFTP and confirmed that uploads are successful when connecting with FTPS. Since the major update on FileZilla version 3.9.0 the performance became very poor and the GUI very unresponsive during file transfers. I found a similar ticket here in #9667.

I tested this doing a FTP file transfer (10 simultaneous transfers) of 4403 files in 337 subdirectories with a total size of 42,3 MB with the following results: FileZilla 3.9.0.6: Took about 8 minutes to do the transfer and the GUI was very unresponsive during the transfer.

FileZilla 3.8.1: Took lees than 2 minutes and the GUI was totally responsive during the whole transfer.

I currently decided to roll back to version 3.8.1 until this is fixed.

May I help you with further details to fix this issue?

applying a filename change causes FileZilla (version 3.9.0.6 and earlier) to crash.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Click right on a file (of your local filesystem)
2. Select "Rename"
3. Change the name of the file
4. Apply your change by pressing [Enter].
5. => FileZilla crashes

When I start a new connection and it's successful, the file toolbar and the website details (port, domain etc.) toolbar disappear. When I wave my mouse pointer over where they're supposed to be they reappear but only where the tabs are.

When going through the install process for the client on OS X, MacKeeper is installed. This shouldn't happen.

if i want to send a pdf file to my pc the file transfer ends in an critical error only if one german umlaut is inside the filename (the file is created at server side with ISO8859)

I have a very large file -- 320+MB -- and when I upload it to our FTP Side, after about 30-45 minutes, it ALWAYS ends on the Failed Transfers list with the reason "could not start transfer."

This error is (a) obviously erroneous as it just uploaded the file. I can verify this by first deleting the version on the site and then uploading a new version. When it's done uploading the new version is there; and (b) it didn't actually fail because if I download the file (which is a signed exe) it passes all integrity checks and its signature is still intact which it wouldn't be if it had failed.

For some reason uploads start to fail soon as the successful transfer count reaches 14,385 (or close to this number).

This happens both when a large directory holding in excess of 14,385 files is uploaded and also when several smaller uploads totalling more than 14,385 files are uploaded.

The only way I have found around this is to pause the upload when the successful upload count gets close to 14,300 then shutdown FileZilla to clear the successful transfer log count, re-open FileZilla and resume the transfer of files in the queue.

If there is a way around this I will appreciate someone telling me.

This will help on allowing people in our organizing to be able to update their own Clients without the IT department needing to be involved everytime you do an update. After first successful connection, i can upload file or files, but the next time I try to upload another file in the directory, it tells me it cannot connect to the server, response 421

When I click on the right side of the windows(Remote Website),if the folder name is chinese,then there will be another folder with messy code name,and the origional folder is still be shown in the list.

I am using filezilla 3.9.0.6 on linux with wxWidgets 3.0.2.

After starting filezilla, without connecting to a server or doing anything, the filezilla process uses 99% of a CPU Core, and the X-Server process raises its CPU load from 1% to about 60%.

I am trying to debug a situation. My FTP client initiates a download of a file using EPSV. FileZilla FTP Server writes all of the file data into the data socket buffer. FileZilla FTP Server then sends reply code 226 (closing data connection. Requested file action successful) on the command socket.

Using Wireshark, I can see that the 226 packet is sent on the network before the entire file is sent. At some point during the file transfer, a packet fails to be ACKed by the client. The server OS retransmits the packet 4 more times and then gives up. This problem is not FileZilla's issue.

The problem is that FileZilla FTP Server will send 226 before the data transfer is complete. Instead, FileZilla should wait to see if there are any problems with the data transfer and only send 226 when it has fully finished.
