#10097 Issue for FileZilla Client(v3.10.0.1): Can't auto identify the character-set from the FTP server correctly normal rejected 9 years 9 years
Description

add a FTP site in Site Manager window, use the DEFAULT setting (NOT do any setting) for the character-set: Auto check.

connect to FTP server, browse and double click someone directory in the file list view which has some Chinese words, then the "remote site" and the directory-name of the directory-tree are showed the "Unrecognizable Code". (like Ticket #10096)

When I set character-set to "Use the custom character-set" [set the value is: GBK] in Site Manager, and re-do the above operations, the "remote site" and the directory-name of the directory-tree are all showed the correct Chinese words.

So.., I guess the issue comes from the function of Auto-Check character-set.

(My environment informations of the server and client are all in the Ticket #10096)

#10112 Opening Failed normal duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

Filezilla is opened and a connection is made to my remote server. I CMD-click multiple files and click EDIT (my editor is Text Wrangler on Mac). All appears fine except some of the files are not opened. I re-select one of the files that did not open and click EDIT again which produces "Opening failed. The file <filepath> could not be opened: The associated command failed." Repeated attempts produce the same error.

If I rename the file from Filezilla (and even rename back to the original filename) then Filezilla will properly open the file.

#10119 OS X Filetype Association setting does not allow spaces in app name normal fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

When I try to create a Custom Filetype Association in the settings, FileZilla strips out the space when I try to specify

php "/Applications/Sublime Text.app"

. I get a pop-error window which reads:

Failed to validate settings Associated program not found: "/Applications/Sublime

I've tried entering the following different specifications:

php "/Applications/Sublime Text.app" -open
php /Applications/Sublime\ Text.app -open
php ""/Applications/Sublime Text.app"" -open
php '/Applications/Sublime Text.app' -open
php "/Applications/Sublime\ Text.app" -open
php "/Applications/Sublime\\ Text.app" -open
php /Applications/Sublime\\ Text.app -open

(As well as other variations without the "-open") Interestingly, double quotes and double backslash got VERY close.

Since there are work-arounds (I believe), this is not a barn-burner. It may be a documentation issue, I just have not able to google an answer that works.

BTW, cut'n'Paste is very quirky /and/or not working in this settings dialog as well as the error message window.

...Wait a minit! Now the double quote double back slash does not preserve the space. I swear it did-- Is this related to the cut'n'paste issue? I must be loosing my mind!

#10159 line-break parasite character resulting in display in chinese normal rejected 9 years 9 years
Description

I have uploaded to my server the following html file http://mapage.noos.fr/mecitoyen/france/ROUAGES/livre.htm When I then accessed it, either by Firefox or by Internet Explorer, it was displayed in what appeared to be chinese or japanese characters. In the source code, I noted that the original line-breaks had been replaced by a character represented by square with four tiny characters, in it.ⴀ䔀儀唀䤀 I downloaded the file back again, through Filezilla, onto my PC, and the result is like my original file except it dispolys line-breaks had been replaced by a character represented by a thin vertical rectangle. The source code contains the original french characters but with the squares: "acteurs de laഀ mondialisation" How can I eliminate that unwanted transformation ?(which I imagine is due to some kinf of compression, the file is 728K )

#10157 MLSD timeout after upgrade to 3.10.0.2 normal duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

If I download the FileZilla version from the filezilla-project.org website (through Source Forge), that works fine on my computer. That is version is 3.9.0.6. However, when I install it I get a message saying that there's a new version (3.10.0.2). If I upgrade to 3.10.0.2, suddenly FileZilla times out after the MLSD command.

Here is the information I get when trying to use version 3.10.0.2 that results in a timeout:

Status: Resolving address of ftp.kgshultz.com Status: Connecting to 69.195.124.172:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is your current location Command: TYPE I Response: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (69,195,124,172,100,165) Command: MLSD Error: Connection timed out Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I did some searching around online and found lots of people saying that MLSD timeouts might be because there was a problem with my router. I tried logging on in several different locations with different routers, and I still have the same problem. Not to mention, it works fine using version 3.9.0.6.

I'm at a bit of a loss now and the only solution I've found is to stick with version 3.9.0.6. I'm nervous that there will be another upgrade (beyond 3.10.0.2) that will cause me the same problems, but I will no longer be able to download 3.9.0.6 from the website.

#10155 FileZilla not working after recent update high duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

Hi,

I have been unable to connect to my usual servers after I updated FileZilla yesterday. It was working fine before the update.

Error message: Connection timed out ... Could not connect to server.

I ran tracer command to see if I could reach the server — and I could. So it's not a machine or external connectivity issue.

Furthermore, I could reach the server and do normal upload functions via FireFTP, which is not my first choice. I definitely prefer FileZilla.

Thanks.

Anu

#10168 File Sizes wrong on remote end normal fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

Hi, I have noticed an issue with the file sizes on a remote server. Most of the files on the remote end have a size that's the real size of the file minus 4x10243 (4gb). The files are fine on the remote SFTP server but the sizes displayed in FileZilla are wrong. Most of the files are between 4gb and 8gb in size.

Here's some more information:

  • Client: Windows 7 x64 with FileZilla 3.10.0.2 (latest)
  • Server: RHEL6.6 server reached/browsed through SFTP.

I tried changing the server type from 'Default (Autodetect)' to 'Unix' but there was no noticeable difference. I also tried using the 'Raw listing' in the debug menu but to no avail.

This makes things a little wacky when resuming a transfer or calculating a transfer duration..

Please do not hesitate to contact me if there's need for extra info.

Regards,

Vincent

#10218 Failed to load SSL libraries Do not touch normal outdated 9 years 9 years
Description

Hi We have a few clients that receive the message "Failed to load SSL libraries" when trying to connect to our FileZilla Server. Our Users are currently running FileZilla 3.10.1.1 and our FileZilla Server version is 0.9.43. We understand that there are newer versions of the FileZilla Server, but since this server is in production we do not want upgrade (which will affect other clients) until we know for sure other that it will address this issue. Other Technical information about this issue is:

We have currently set up the Server to use FTPS on Port 990. The Server Certificate is a FileZilla generated cert using TLS 1.2 On the Server when the connection fails we can see a message in the log: "431 Could not initialize SSL connection"

The clients are set to use: Protocol: FTP- File Transfer Protocal Encryption: Require implicit FTP over TLS Logon Type: Normal

Additional information can be provided. ANY help with this issue will be greatly appreciated! Good Day, Chris K

#8114 Prompts again for action on file aready exists, despite "always use this action"/"apply only to current queue" previously checked within same queue high fixed 12 years 9 years
Description

Steps to reproduce the bug:

  1. Select a folder with many subfolder on the server. Make sure you have a folder of the same name on the client with a similar tree structure containing at least a few files in common. Right click and choose "Download"
  1. When the first file that already exists is found, the prompt appears asking you what to do.
  • Select "Overwrite"
  • Check "Always use this action"
  • Check "Apply only to current queue"
  1. Click OK

Expected: it should download all the rest of the files and never ever ask you again what to do with existing files in the current queue

Observed: every once in a while the "file already exists" dialog appears again. I select "always use this action" and "apply to current queue only" again, and again, but it will still pop up again.

I don't know if this happens when the connection is lost and reestablished with the server. Even if this is the case it is wrong.

#10020 Filezilla is not connecting not retrieving directory listing normal outdated 9 years 9 years
Description

Up to this morning I have had no difficulties with Filezilla either when uploading or downloading to a site I have been using for year. This morning I updated Filezilla. Immediately I had a popup notice informing me that the licence to this site was not recognised. The notice allowed me to override this. However, I noticed that the check box allowing me to indicate that this site can be trusted in future had not been enabled.

The site I am trying to connect to is run by Freeola.com, and I was attempting a connection to vip4.freeola.net.

This is the log of the attempted connection:-

Status: Resolving address of vip4.freeola.net Status: Connecting to 193.0.158.4:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/" is your current location Command: TYPE I Response: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (193,0,158,4,182,147) Command: MLSD Error: Connection timed out Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing.

I have included an attachment which is the licence warning I received on a pop up screen.

I am concerned that up to noon today I was able to use your software to connect to this site, as I have been doing for several years, and then with the 'improved' update it is now effectively useless to me.

Awesome new feature to automatically download updates to FileZilla, however, instead of in the user'sDownloads folder, the archive ends up in Documents instead. Only a minor nuisance, but still I think this should be corrected.

Hello, please bear with me, I am very much a newbie. I barely know how to upload files, but have been doing that through you for a while and all was going fine until recently when I updated my version of FileZilla. I keep getting error messages, such as "Failed to retrieve directory listing", and can't connect to my website(s)on my main computer. I called GoDaddy for help, and they thought it might be my browser or firewall, but nothing changed and I don't think that's it. Then I tried to upload via my laptop, which had an older version of FileZilla, and it worked fine. I asked my friend who told me about FileZilla a few years ago, and he suggested I report the issue, because maybe no one else has noticed it. I can't imagine that I'd be the only one, but don't know what else to do. Here is the message I've been getting: " Status: Connecting to 160.153.59.0:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Status: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Can you help? Bear in mind it's hard for me to comprehend much of this at all. I hope I am using the proper protocol to ask for help. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Steve

#10236 Unknown Certificate with many SAN entries missing "Always trust certificate..." high fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

Since updating FileZilla Client from v3.10.0.2 to v3.10.1.1, when FileZilla prompts for my 'Unknown certificate' it no longer shows the checkbox for 'Always trust certificate for future sessions'.

Certificate is within the Validity period and host address matches the SAN. This is self-signed, with many SAN entries to cover all accessible hostnames the FTP is accessed from internally and externally.

I can only assume because of the number of SAN in the list, it pushes the checkbox off screen, and doesn't have anything to do with any problem or expiration of the certificate.

Only other issues I found similar to this were expired certificates where the checkbox was visible, but not selectable.

For me, it's not even visible.

#10165 Proxy ignored for SFTP connections (Regression from 3.9.0.6) normal fixed 9 years 9 years
Description

Since version 3.10.0, connections through SFTP always ignore any proxy settings I might have configured. 3.9.6 and older do not.

I've got it configured to use a HTTP proxy, over port 443. The "Bypass Proxy" setting for the connection I use is not checked.

The console shows the following lines (after enabling detailed output):

Response:	fzSftp started
Command:	proxy 1 "proxy.domain.com" 443
Command:	open "user@site.com" 2222

But then it actually does a direct connection instead. I confirmed this by looking at my firewall's network connections view, netstat, and by the fact that I'm no longer speed-limited by the proxy.

I've downgraded until the issue disappeared, and found that the proxy 3.9.6 and older versions do not have this issue.

I assume it's caused by the "Updated SFTP components from PuTTY" change introduced in 3.10.0-beta3, but I might be wrong.

#10199 FTP over TLS fails on IIS without all patches installed high rejected 9 years 9 years
Description

First I connect to the server with the client and it is fast and no problems. I open the folders on server and on my pc so I can make a transfer. I doubleclick to transfer a file, and it reacts allright, but then it reports an error and for a slight second I can see the file in the list on the serverfolder and then it disappears. So instead of updating the file on the server the file is now missing!!!! I tried several times. This occured just after upgrading the client on automatic suggestion. Which I have done before without problems. Now this is extra annoying as it is the last thing I wanted to do before going on a travel tomorrow morning. And now instead of having an updated website I have a website with 2 missing files. Here is a copy of the report:

#10182 File Upload/Update fail after yesterdays update high rejected 9 years 9 years
Description

Have been using FileZilla. FTP had been working fine. Perhaps last update of FileZilla changed something – They updated yesterday. It does connect, and I do get the file listing at the Remote site. However:

During a file update (upload) I get a message: Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection. Response: 550 The supplied message is incomplete. The signature was not verified. Error: File transfer failed

  • If the file to be updated is already at the Remote Site, I will have seen something happening at the Remote Site view of FileZila, then the target file disappears.
  • Now if the target file of that name is not there, if I try again, it does upload the desired file … keep in mind, however, that I still get that error message.

This is true with other hosts I am using also.

My webhost website has an alternative, Cyberduck, and the update worked with that, but... I strongly prefer FileZilla interface.

Currently you can only hide the local tree view. I don't use the local section. I only use the remote section and drag & drop.

Is there a way to hide the entire local section? It's extra space that I could use.

Sadly it only collapses so far and that's it.

I would like to hide the entire local section. If my attachment works it will be marked red.

#10215 Updates Never not working low rejected 9 years 9 years
Description

Hello. I got an update recently which messed up my secure FTP functionality. As such, I installed the previous version of Filezilla client (btw, with one slip of the finger I was "rewarded" with extra software that was extremely annoying and was quite difficult to fully uninstall, nearly malware. I guess that's how Sourceforge rolls now, probably not your fault.)

Anyway...because of the above, I tried the feature where in Settings... Updates you can choose "Never". This apparently doesn't work. Now I'm nagged every single time I use the program. And yes, I already know that there was some fix that deals with secure connections, so I might try my luck and see if the program works again for secure stuff.

So I'd call it non-urgent priority, even though it's super annoying. :)

Thanks for your help.

#10292 Version 3.10.2 normal duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

When attempting to upload using FileZilla the server access does not list the directories. Unable to list directories is the error. At first I thought it was my problem then discovered after the update from my older version (3.9.0.5) is when the problem began. I rolled back to the 3.9.0.5 version and the app began to work correctly. I now ignore the prompt to update each time it loads. I have other clients that use FileZilla and I recommend to them not to update until further notice about this problem being solved.

#10295 v3.10.2 won't connect to server normal duplicate 9 years 9 years
Description

As connection proceeds, it comes up with a "certificate expired" for the server. Whether or not this is 'OK'd' it then moves on, makes a complaint about non ascii characters and finally holds and times out at 'failed to read directory listing: Initializing TLS... Status: Verifying certificate... Status: TLS connection established. Status: Server does not support non-ASCII characters. (what non-ascii characters??) Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing..

(there may be some extra lines here but they don't wait around long enough to be copied)

Response: 200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary Command: PASV Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (173,254,28,147,20,170) Command: MLSD Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Have installed v 3.9.0.5 on another PC and it works fine. Seems to be a problen with 3.10.2

#10298 Error Replacing Files normal invalid 9 years 9 years
Description

Hi There,

I have been experiencing an error lately when I attempt to drop files into folders that are intended to replace outdated files. Perhaps some context will help...

We operate an online storefront for Neighborhood Health Plan. They have thousands of products which are identified by product codes. For example, one item might be labeled "11020". Each product has a thumbnail and full sized image which we drop into a directory in Filezilla, which we pull from when "creating the product". Thumbnail images have a _2 suffix, with _1 for the full sized image.

Now, lets say they print a new version of 11020 with new graphics, new colors, etc.. In this case we would need to create and drop in new thumbnails. So I would Scale and crop the image, save as 11020_1 and 11020_2, and drop it into the appropriate directory. When I do this, I see a prompt asking me If I want to replace the existing files with these new ones. I click yes to replace, but the file never gets swapped out. I find that the only option I have is to change the suffix to _T and _F for the new file to be available.

There are several other ramifications for this replace file bug, but I figured this was the easiest way to describe it.
