After updating to 3.1.6 I can no longer drag&drop files from Windows enviroment in order to store them on my server. It has worked well before switching to the newest version.

no error messages and no failed transfer files on the failed tab it happens on multi-tiered subdirectory directories, usually 2 or more deep. The application it happens on the most are zen-cart and almost all updates where you click a folder on your local PC and drop it on the ftp server. Now the error occurs so often, I have to manually click through all folders to check each folder and all its subfolders to copy the files it does NOT copy.

I dont remember this happening in the past, but i got a bug in the php application and tracked it down to a missing file. I retransfered the whole folder again, with its subdirectories and then i started checking and counting files on both ends. It consistantly does not file transfer the 2 and lower directories and worst does NOT report it that it is missing files

I think this is related to Active mode. I have opened a 1000 tcp/udp ports on my router. This error shows up straight away with only 20 ports open. I am transferring a few thousand files in a lot of folders (Joomla site). Filezilla should retry these failed commands a bit later, it does work after a few fails or after first try. Maybe burst mode has something to do with it? I set to High and still not 100% working.

After a while I get some of these errors flashing by, but at random seemingly.

I m using a slow network connection that uploads file with 40KB/s

While uploading a single large file (800MB) filezilla get disconnected upon 75%. When i tried to resume it, it is again started from beginning of file.

What should i do?

Trying to drag a File from FTP-Folder to download to the desktop or any other folder on the client-system causes an error: "can't find the target of drag'n'drop operation. Shell extension might not installed properly..." (translated from german system) Reinstalling fzshellext_64.dll has no effect.

Dragging files to ftp-upload works fine...

With version 3.1.6, I've had problems uploading a file that is 15,738,880 bytes. Progress bar goes from 0 to 100% in the right kind of time, and the transfer moves into Successful, but the destination file has 0 bytes.

I've tried multiple times, including deleting the 0 byte file. I eventually used standard command-line ftp, which was successful. The ftp server is PureFTPd.

In FileZilla Client 3.1.6, src/interface/Options.cpp declares a t_default_option structure containing a const wxChar array (name[30] - see line 132). However, such a const array can never be initialised, so HP's C++ compiler in HP-UX 11.X refuses to compile the source code. I removed the const keyword and this fixed the problem.

I open up a remote FTP site. In the window where files from the remote site are listed, I drag and drop one of the files to my Windows Vista desktop. Instead of the file being downloaded and copied to that location (the expected behaviour) I receive an error message which reads "Could not determine the target of the Drag&Drop operation".

We send about 100 pdf files at a time to our website. We are having a problem that some of the files are getting renamed, then we get an error that the file all ready exsists. When the file is openend on the website the file name is correct but it may have content that belongs to another user. When this happens, I have resent the files and the second time everything runs smoothly with no errors. Then we go to open the file and it has the correct content. We are using version 3.1.6

I am haveing problem with uploade of large numbers of files. The problems are much the same as the "sync" upload problem that was supposedly fixed in the 3.1.6 release (which I am running.)

Some of the files are either not uploaded or are only partially stored. Redoing transfer with fewer files corrects the missing/corrupt file

Im having the problem that filezilla crashes everytime if i want to upload a pretty amount of files. Like the phpbb forums or joomla portal.

After click on Check for Updates the check will always fail even if there is a newer version. The problem appears to be the URL used to check for updates. There is no ampersand (&) separators between the parameters as seen in the attached image. The original file I'm uploading has a file size of 603,953. The uploaded file size is 69.098.

The file is an html file. It has a few lines of text but the main portion of the file is a series of 6 lists that are copied and pasted from an Excel file. After uploading the lines of text are there but the lists copied and pasted from Excel are missing.

The feature from: Ticket #2804 (closed Feature request) has stopped working when I upgraded from 3.0.xx to 3.2.0 of FileZilla. I run Windows Vista Ultimate SP1. And I use putty pageant for my ssh key auth (SFTP). I had my connection working, upgraded FileZilla and after the upgrade I tried Reconnect, it didn't work, I had to add a password to my connection.

I'm uploading a bunch of JPG-Images, Compressed and resized properly by IrfanView. As the bunch (about 50 pictures) is uploaded, my Gallery-Programm often gives Errormessages, because the content of the pictures is scrambled. This happens just sometimes, about 5-10% of the Pictures. Usually two parts of the picture are switched. (Examplepictures in Attachment)

As I reupload the Pictures, everything ist fine...

When I upload a file, for example, 0001.jpg to my server, and then I attempt to upload another file named 0001.jpg to the same directory, the client asks me if I'd like to overwrite, resume, rename, etc. If I attempt to rename the file to 0001-2.jpg, which doesn't exist on the remote server, the client once again asks me if I'd like to overwrite, resume, rename, etc. It's impossible to rename the file and upload it, unless I cancel out of the transfer and rename the file locally and then upload it, which defeats the purpose of the dialog box popping up in the first place.

FOLDER WITH NAME LIKE "sub-domain.domain.ru_rB1QN#P" cant open with Filezilla, but Total Commander can open it

Hello, I've been using FileZilla for a long time now, and I love it and recommend it to all of my friends, so first off, great job! I appreciate the work you've put into FileZilla!

Just a little thing here - when I download several large files at once, typically, the file queue fills up to the point that I have to scroll, and I want to keep tabs on the progress of the files being downloaded, so I grab the resize bar dividing it from the upper 3/4 of the program, and drag it up so more queued files can be seen, but the progress bars all disappear, and I can't see the progress of any of the files any more. I can get it back, I believe by starting a new series of downloads, but with big files, I like to know how long they'll take to download.

Filezilla Client 3.2.0

If I try to enter a space into the name of a file or folder in the window from the server that shows the most detail (its headers are Filename Filesize Filetype ....), the space is executed as an instruction and not entered as a space.

This occurs ONLY when I double click to edit the name. If I use rename, I can enter a space.

Various flavors of this error occur when I try to enter a space into a name elsewhere in the Filezilla window.

when making the columns bigger the temp guide line doesnt disappear after you resize the columns. you can min/max the window to get rid of it tho.

Latest version of Filezilla (3.2) when trying to select multiple directrories in remote site window only last click item is highlighted. In previous version, I could click first and shift-click last and all in between would be highlighted for download.

I'm trying to upload a 700MB file to my web site. The connection inevitably interrupts before the entire file is uploaded. When I try to upload again, I get a screen from FileZilla asking me to select from several options - i.e. overwite, skip, resume, etc. I select resume and it attempts to resume the upload, but it doesn't work. The upload status bar appears and a few bytes transfer and then it resets and tries again. It does this at least 10 times before stopping. It never makes any progress.

The resume works with other FTP programs, but for some reason FileZilla uploads 10 times faster than all other programs. I wish I could use it, but it just won't work.

Gentlement, For several days now, I have been writing several simple perl scripts, and using filezilla to upload these text files to my server, and I kept getting 'Configuration Error' when trying to run the scripts. I contacted my host tech support, and they could not find any reason as to why this error was occuring. This morning I created a simple example from an old perl book, using Notepad (windows XP of course), and uploaded it with Firefox FireFTP plugin, which shows the ASCII transfer mode, and the script worked. I have gone into filezilla Edit Settings, and under Transfers->File Types, set this to ASCII, but it does not seem to make a difference. When uploading a file to my host, it shows the transfer as Normal. FYI... My email is trebor0926@…, if you want to pass on info to me.

When I load the program, I immediately get the following errors:

I hit OK. The program launches. I can access the files in my ftp directory, but when I try to view a CSV file, it can't find Excel to open the file anymore (screenshot attached). This was one of my favorite features of Filezilla.

I downloaded the update for filezilla on 2/9 (3.2.1 for win32.exe) I am running VISTA os. I can no longer view, edit or download .xls spreadsheets. I could be fore the upgrade. I tried to uninstall and reinstall and that did not help. The spreadsheets are not corrupt, I have validated that by using a different computer to download. Any suggestions?

I expexct filezilla to connect to ftp.kernel.org instead it just hangs as you can see in the picture attachment.

I did not want to up date as I am in the middle of a huge project but after I said no to update the program locked up.

Ok so I did the u/d bam it doesn't work at all now freezes right up.

when I try to shut down the computer the send error and end program go into a tango together......

The steps I take are: 1) Connect 2) Select file from web server and drag it into local directory. 3) right click file in local directory and click "edit" 4) edit the file and save 5) As soon as I put focus on FileZilla, a pop-up says that a file has changed, do I want to upload it? 6) I click "No" BUG: as soon as I click "No", the program connects and executes a skip file transfer command. Sometimes the file actually uploads to a random directory.

This happens primarily with Windows XP home edition.

But I have detected a bug in the current version 3.2.1 of filezilla client (just downloaded update before using today). Below the step-by-step description:

1) Connect to the remote server (with blank directories). 2) Select on local site a directory with subdirectories. Local directory tree is shown. 3) Select some files in the window below of the local directory tree and choose "upload" from the context menue (right mouse click). 4) Download ok. 5) Select some directories in the window below of the local directory tree and choose "upload" from the context menue. These directories contains a lot of small files (704 files in 14 directories). 6) Uploads begins to work... 7) Some files later the message window appears "Target file already exists", asking me for an action. But there is no duplicate file. The remote ftp server was empty. I didn't touch the local subdirectories while uploading.

After confirming the window the upload repeats working. In summary all files are uploaded. (I hope the contents of the files are correct, I didn't checked all files yet).

Sometimes at the right side of FileZilla windows (FTP Server W2000 Server) I cannot see folders in the lower area that are shown in the upper area (3.2.2 rc1), see attached screenshot

After transferring file from computer to server the file size is 0.

Exporting the Filezilla.xml from the PC and importing it into Filezilla for Apple Mac crashes.

When a project is listed in the server manager, and has a local directory in PC format inserted (so let's say c:\projects\www.kfz.net ) and your are moving your data to the mac filezilla is crashing because he can not find the c: drive.

Maybe it make sense to check for PC drives and remove the entries and set them to empty when a user is importing the filezilla.xml on a mac.

Since upgrading FileZilla (current version is 3.2.1), I am unable to connect to a server. I have two server connections established, and I've ensured that the settings are accurate. They are the same for each server. I have no issue connecting to the first server, but connection fails on the second server. It is not able to validate my security certificate. I do not get beyond AUTH TLS or AUTH SSL (error: 431 could not initialize SSL connection; could not connect to server). This was not an issue prior to upgrading to v3.2.1.

Also, my connection to the first server seems to only last for a short time, and then I am automatically disconnected from the server (error message: Disconnected from server: ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted). This, too, did not happen before the upgrade.

I am running Windows 7 beta 1 (build 7000) x64 Ultimate, and I know this is beta software, however I think this may be something to look into when W7 goes final.

I installed the shell add-on, and now if I drag a file from the remote location, it makes a folder named fz3-12352698462440 (sometimes different numbers will appear)

Anyone have any ideas? I would be more than happy to test them out. Thanks again for the great software! -noop

When I access my Terastation network file server in FileZilla, using a network address of the type
Tera\Shared1\ in the local site input box, everything works fine except the local directory tree pane does not update. Whatever irrelevant directory tree was there previously remains displayed. Navigation is only possible using the directory pane itself. I generally have to turn off the directory tree display when accessing the Terastation in order to avoid accidentally switching back to the computer drive.

IF A: is empty (no floppy), the arrows cannot get you passed the floppy..

if possible, a blank listing or a default (C:\) list could appear instead.

Sorry, prefer keyboard programs, but can use mouse if necessary.

If the files in the remote site are zip files, Filezilla see them as directories and the file transfer is failed.

Hello, I enjoy using Filezilla daily, but there's a bug when uploading large files. This has occurred in previous versions of Filezilla, but I haven't reported it until now. The uploads complete, only to show zero bytes on the server. The uploaded files do not play or download when requested by a browser. These are mostly audio and video files in excess of say 100 MB up to 250 MB. I've tried uploading the same files to the same server directory with other clients - WS-FTP, Cute, Smart, ftp Explorer, ftp Voyager, etc. They all complete the transfer and show the correct file size. Which makes me think there's a subtle bug in Filezilla. I've attached the Filezilla verbose log. For now, I'm using WS-FTP to transfer large files.

This is technically not new - it was well described in Ticket #1414, but that ticket was timed out by the tracker. After the setup app downloads (I put it on the desktop because I know I'll have to click it), it attempts to start but fails with unknown error 193. This is on Windows XP SP3, and I have Panda for Desktops as my antivirus.

From what I can tell on Google, the error code 193 means "%1 is not a valid win32 process."

No biggie, just a nuisance, and it's been that way ever since I discovered your wonderful Filezilla client last summer.

FileZilla Client 3.2.2.1 Vista Business SP1, up-to-date as of 07.03.2009

FileZilla Client crashes during transfer of 760 files (appx 200MB) to an FTP server. Debugged using VS 2008, got following message:

Unhandled exception at 0x0094f3d9 in filezilla.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000004.

No symbols found.

I see a ticket close with an annoying issue that is not resolved with the increasing of the drag threshold. Apparently FileZilla doesn't use a component that make use of the wacom configuration.

Inside of the FileZilla browser when you click a folder with the wacom it generate a drag event instead of a click event and an error message appear every time showing:

A directory cannot be dragged into one of its subfolders.

It is basically imposible to use filezilla with the wacom and only happend with FileZilla, applications like CyberDuck does not have this problem. By now I had to use another ftp software becouse of that.

I dont know if it's only a FileZilla problem but it came up two times after i used the programm. All entries in the menus are black (black font and black background) until i move the mouse over them. THen they become visible. The problem exists now in all popup menus of my operating system (win xp sp3). Entries are black when i open a popup...very annoying. It's NOT a problem of a visual style!

New website - www.TheCrossingsLancasterPA.com / I did not build the site and am not a "techie." / I can make text corrections and update the site using FileZilla. That part works fine. / I need to be able to post mp3 files of Sunday teachings / When I use FileZilla, it takes the normal amount of time and it appears as though it is posting to the website / When the process is complete, on the website side, it shows "0" file size / I send the exact same sound file to the guy who built my site and he is able to upload it using FileZilla. / He uses FileZilla and has guided me to do the same / He is not the maintainer of the site and I have to be / What do I need to do or to adjust so that I can post the mp3 files from here?

I upgraded today and got a "ECONNREFUSED" message. Connection refused by server. This is a first for me, so I had to do it the harder way.

I have Zone Alarm, but it's never stopped it before. My PC is running home edition XP.

I am using Latest FileZilla 3.2.2.1. I transfer a file and the same file in place of getting transferred 1 time, keeps on getting transferred again and again.

I have been uploading files which has more than 7,400+ files and 2,200+ directories for the past 2 days to our web hosting. I have tried the upload a dozen of times every time clearing the files again on the server to make sure that it will re-upload everything.

The problem encountered is after checking the files, there are a lot of missing files on the server especially if its in the 2nd or 3rd level directory although files on lower directories are complete (well it looks like its complete).

After a couple of re-tries (deleting and re-uploading the files), I checked the list of "Successful Transfer" and the missing files was not in the list. Note, there are no failed transfers.

After this, I re-queued the files by dragging the files again to the Queue list. Making sure the files that I noticed are missing is in the queue list. This time, I didn't delete the files in the server but selected the "Skip" option for the existing files.

It was able to upload some of the missing files, but after running the web application there are still lots of missing files.

This is getting tiring. Its not possible to check every 7,400+ files to see if they are all uploaded. Just checking them will take days which will hamper our productivity. Actually it already hampered our development and productivity since I have been trying to upload our web app since yesterday.

I know this was working prior to updating to the current version (3.2.2.1)

OS is Windows XP with SP3

When I upgraded to version 3.2.2.1 my account setting were not preserved. All site that I use are no longer in the site manager.

Some but not all of the ftp files I upload to my webhost become corrupted. When downloaded by Firefox into Adobe Reader the latter throws the error "File does not begin with %ftp-", and when I check the uploaded file, it doesn't. The files I'm sending do start with the correct code.

When I start filezilla from the command line in the directory where I installed filezilla, I get the error message in the terminal window but the filezilla window opens and appears to function properly.

Note that the error message appears as the filezilla window is being drawn. I have not interacted with the filezilla window at this point.

I just edited all my passwords on a laptop and now need to transfer the site manager entiris to a) a portable version and b) to my main PC. Both of these already have Filezilla 3.2.2.1 on them with my old site manager entries.

When I select File . . . Export and try to export the Site Manager entries fromeither version the program freezes and I have to use Task Manager to end it.

What I do not understand is that when I downloaded this verson 3.2.3 (zip file) it automatically found the settings in the previous version 3.2.2.1 even though it is in a different folder. There is no sign of any XML file in either Filezilla folder, just some DLLs ... where are the settings stored? Can I copy the 3.2.3 folder to another PC and keep the settings, and will I have to delete my previous 3.2.2.1 installation on the other PC?

You did and wonderful job here, from the last version i saw you made a lot of improvements, all do it seems that there is still an problem there. What happens with me is that I have a local ftp server and I just want to backup my files from the laptop so that I can format it, I put all the files in queue and I start transfer, because there are to many files in a small amount it seems that it get stacked and it just loads in memory and after stop responding. For ex I had 45 Gb to transfer but there were something like 700000 files so now I still have 139500 files and 3 Gb but it already start to respond harder and harder, I just looked in processes and I have allocated for filezilla around 595,190 K and If I leave it on pause it starts to go down but very slow. Do you have any solution in this problem, until now all the other software crashed, this one is the only one that still resists. Thank you and i`m waiting for your reply.

I need to troubleshoot the problem. Before I change my PC hardware i was working great but after I change my Major PC Hardware and install the Windows OS, I starting to have this problem... It will let me log in at the Nationa-anime.com server, let me view or open file directory but when I try to download file it won't download anymore. I already adjust my Norton firewall including the windows firewall. I can download using a Torrent software. So what should i need to do?

Have had issues trying to transfer .mp4 video files via ftp to a server using filezilla client version 3.2.3.1. File transfer would fail at aprox 30 mb. Resume would fail to work. This has happened four times with that version.

I've since reverted back to version 3.1.5.1. This version, the binary transfer works as it should. The transfer isn't failing and resume is working as it should.

With the latest version 3.2.3.1 I found an issue with specifically uploading to Limelight networks. llnw.net (must have an account with them.)

Uploading files found that the speed of upload would slow down to 1k after an initial burst. A 5mb file will upload approx 200k and then slow down to as low as 1k per second. I let the 5mb file upload and it took over 45 minutes to finish. I am on a dedicated T1 and testing the speed I show 1.15Mb/s download and 1.00Mb/s upload speed.

I tried from multiple connection locations and different service providers with the same result.

I checked with Limelight for issues on their end and found nothing. Initially 4/3/09 thinking that it may be net related I waiting till today to test again with the same result 4/6/09.

The tracert to the server showed no significant slow down.

Finally I tried a different FTP client and had no issues with the alternate cleint.

The unix file system that our FTP server runs on allows for some very terribly named files.

Although some FTP programs allow these names, FileZilla seems to have an issue with some.

I fully understand that this is a terrible file name. However, some programs are able to handle it. So I ask, why can't FileZilla? It's way better than anything else!

Removing a folder fails if it was not created by a FileZilla Client and matches the following cases:

• this folder has a file ".DS_store" (Mac) in it (cannot remove file as well)
  
• this folder has a comma (,) in its name (in my case, it was created by a php script, I cannot open or rename the folder as well)
  
• this folder/file has some backslashes (\) in its name (also created by php; however, I was able to rename the folder and afterwards I could remove it)
  

For all cases, it fails "No such file or directory". I reproduced this bug (especially the first case) several times.

However, I can delete the folders by a webbased system having the same user/group-rights as FileZilla had.

Perhaps there are some more problems if the folder/file name is not binary and was created by some other ftp client? I think the problem could be the charcater code?

I have the fileZilla server(0.9.29 beta) and client(3.2.3.1) and I connected, but I was not able upload/download or list the directory.

The fileZilla server(0.9.29 beta) is on win 2003 sr2.

The remote site list window is only showing the first two folders that are available on the FTP site. I can get to the other folders if I type them in the text box but they are not available to select. Looking at the ftp site thru the windows FTP program shows all of the available folders.

Recently upgraded to Filezilla version 3.2.4.1

Now, when I try to access a directory where the name contains spaces, the following error is reported Response: 550 The system cannot find the file specified. Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

The program will successfully access any folder with no spaces in the folder name. Previous version did not have this bug.

When connecting to 1 ftp server I receive an error after it logs me in that it can not retreive the directory listing. See Attached. I am currently running 3.2.4.1

It only occurs on my WAN. On my cable modem at home, it connects and transfers with no error. I spoke with our network data center and they are showing no "backtalk" from the firewall or the remote server. This has always worked until I loaded your software update about a week ago (version before this one). When I use my MAC to connect, It has no problems. No problems with DOS or Windows explorer.

Our FTP server is on a local network, so when I FTP files there, they go really fast, not sure if that's the cause of the problem.

Basically every time I drag-drop a file to FileZilla to upload to the FTP server, it asks me 3 times if I want to overwrite the existing file. The first time it actually displays the old file size and the new, but after that I'm overwriting identical files twice.

This is very annoying just having to click the ok button multiple times, but even worse when moving multiple files, I can't tell if all were moved successfully because I keep getting a bunch that say failed and that are getting moved multiple times, so the counts are off, and they aren't actually failing.

1. Download a file.
2. Right click on downloaded file and select edit.
3. Navigate to a different remote folder.
4. Edit and save the file.
5. Filezilla offers to upload the file. It goes to the new folder, without any way to change back to the original one.

Expected result: Upload the file to the folder it came from.

Workaround: 1. Select "No". Navigate to the correct folder and upload manually.

2. Remeber to navigate back before saving the file in your editor.
3. Edit/view the remote file instead of the local one. (But the connection may drop.)

After I copy files from a ftp site that begin with a . (period) when trying to open the file in my application it treats it as it is being used by someone else on a network. I copy the same file with a different ftp utility I do not have the problem.

When uploading a group of files & subfolders to an empty folder, I got several times (not only during the same upload) the message "file exists". This is not possible as I just did a drag and drop to an empty folder. It seems that the same file could be queued several times.

I use filezilla to connect to a FTP server (NAS drive) in the office LAN. Sometimes we change the port that the NAS FTP Server hears. These are the steps:

• I connect to the ftp server in port 21 (any port)
• The admin changes the port of the server to 321 (any port)
• I disconnect.
• I enter the site site manager in filezilla and change the port.
• I try to connect, but the port that filezilla tryes to use is the old one.
• Only if I close filezilla, and open it again, the new port is used.

I have only tested this in a local FTP server with 2 devices (a Lacie NAS and a Freecom NAS). I have not tried with a server in Internet.

This was posted years ago, but was listed as closed and fixed years ago also. Occasionally, when downloading a file, it will reach 100%, pause, then continue downloading. I also noticed the possibility listed that the server could be sending out the wrong file size, but I have also set up my own FTP server and was able to replicate the problem. In this instance, the file size reported was correct, just a couple megabytes, but continued to over 5 gigabytes.

I am getting this error (Failed to retrieve directory listing) when conneting to my AS/400 system. This has always worked with older versions o FileZilla.

Unable to drag out files to any window from 'FTP view'. Could not determine the target of the Drag&Drop operation (Cursor ico does not allows to drop dragged file).

Filezilla for Windows generated an error when doing an FTP GET of the file named SW-SOHO-0501-1700.bin, so I performed an update to version 3.2.4.1 and tried again. The same error occurred, so I did a download of the file using IE6.

The site is public, so you can try it as many times as you would like. The file in question is a binary image for an IP-PBX; about 20-22 Mbytes in size. The type of FTP server is unknown.

When connected through FTPS, filezilla shuts down directly after displaying the last log line "initializing TLS". Did not recive any "not responding" dialog or anything. Tried restarting the computer and reinstall filezilla with no luck. Ordinary FTP works with no problems.

Directory comparison button options (on right click) looks like not shown correctly... probably there should be an menu radio buttons for "Compare filesize" and "Compare modification time" options (or they should be organized as an checkboxed items...)

The another negative of the current button (which control so useful functionality) is that looks like it doesn't keep it's default state.. i.e. it doesn't turns on after it was turned off automatically after for example out of synchronization root.

when trying to download a complete remote site, the filezilla client crashes if this site contains a file or folder that, when seperately downloaded as a single file or folder, would generate a ftp 550 error : 550 : No such file or directory. filezilla crashes (displays the crashed popup), while other threads successfully download the rest of the site. it seems the offending files are not visible in the standard available windows ftp commandline client utility (ftp.exe) the full error when attempting a separate download of such a file is : "550 icon: No such file or directory Error: Critical error"

the crash info in the eventviewer is : "Application popup: filezilla.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x77c43de0" referenced memory at "0x04397000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program"

incidentally, the crash is reported in the system section of the windows event viewer as an application popup, while instead it should be reported in the application section as an error.

For some reason, MANY people using Filezilla to upload files to their Wordpress, self-hosted blogs are getting parse errors. It seems filezilla is doing something to the files as it uploads that is corrupting the file and causing our blogs to be UNUSABLE. Sometimes you can just keep uploading the offending file until filezilla gets it right, but I have now reached a point where even my localized file seems corrupted. Not sure how to explain this, but if you search wordpress.org forums for parse error, you will see the mention of filezilla being the ftp client. I wasnt having any trouble until the last two upgrades. The last one seemingly the worst offender of all! Now i get to try to figure out how the heck to get this fixed, as my blog is out of commission until i do. I liked filezilla until the swtich to wordpress...guess i better find a different ftp client.

Running Filezilla client 3.2.5, I cannot get a directory listing from certain VxWorks servers in Vista. The servers are embedded in a home controller (AMX NetLinx, to be precise) and are running VxWorks 5.5.1. Here is a copy of the exchange on my Vista machine:

Passive or active does not matter, and it is not a timeout; the failure comes immediately. On the same network, the same connection, the same router, and an identical setup, but on a machine running XP, the listing and all other operations are fine. The problem is only with my machine running Vista.

We cannot see the .htaccess on some FTP server. On the FTP Server of ​http://www.olympe-network.com/ I see the .htaccess with Adobe Dreamweaver but not with FileZilla.

This bug had been submitted as Bug No: 4409 on 10.04.2009 for Filezilla 3.2.2.1; and was solved. It has now reappeared.

When I use the "Checkfor updates.." function on the "Help" menu on the

FileZilla Client v 3.2.2.1 (it was the same with the previous versions) the progress bar and the text below, runs off the right edge off the window. The the blue progress indicator works as expected for some time but it then hits the right edge. The text below indicates that the download is still going on. It seems that the progress bar and the text below is out of scale by a factor of 2. It needs to be reduced to half of its current width.

Sometimes the size of files, after one or more resume operation, once completed upload is different from original file.

Version of FileZilla Client is 3.2.5.

In 3.2.6 rc1, running on Windows, data execution prevention closed filezilla after clicking on view/edit.

I couldn't find anything like this bug in the database. Apologies if its already reported.

I got the message Timer Creation Failed when upgrading from 3.2.5 to 3.2.6. The forum ticket says this was reopened and reclosed because it cannot happen in 3.2.5. However, it did happen. The download was successful though and manually running the update worked fine. Now at 3.2.6.

When uploading a file, if the FTP server closes the connection, FileZilla client asks me for my password in a popup for immediate reconnection.

This is annoying when the FTP server systematically closes the connection (for example because I have exceeded the limit of simultaneous connections and the server has put me on a 10 minute timeout). FileZilla's password popup steals focus from the main window so that it's impossible to stop the queue processing. Trying to close the popup just makes it open again immediately. Effectively the only way to escape the situation is to close the popup as many times as there are files on the queue.

after uploading big files (2.5 GB) I found that FileZilla does not mark files in red when the filesize is diffrent (toggle directory comparison on). Please compare the line above the marked in the attachment.

On setting maximum simultaneous transfers to à value up to 2, the CPU load is realy high, and FileZilla (FZ) has some freezes ( computer too).

A value of 5 make à load of 50% with à AMD Athlon x2 (on VISTA) and a value of 10 make à load of 80%, and FZ are unuzable and must be kill.

This problem apears in the 3.2.6.1 version.

Filezilla 3.2.6.1 vsftpd 2.1.0 on AIX with TLS support

When I downloaded a large text file (e.g. 80KB file) in ASCII mode from remote server to local PC (using either implicit or explicit tls/ssl), the file does not get copied. This was tried on both passive and active mode. I have no problem downloading same large text file in binary mode. I also have no problem with smaller text files and uploading large text files in ASCII mode.

I see 2 error TLS messages in debug mode Trace: GnuTLS error -8: A record packet with illegal version was Trace: GnuTLS error -9: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.

WinSCP have no problem downloading large text file in ASCII mode so it may not be the server issue.

Filezilla 3.2.6.1, external site, arrow mouse on file, mouse right,option :"URL copy to clipboard". Then: open browser (Opera 9.64), paste URL in adress part of browser. Gives : ​ftp:// my domain name@ ftp. my domain name/folder /folder/fille.php. After enter, dialog window which asks for username and password. After filled in and sent username and password , the file is show on browser. Problem : Mistakes in some shown files on browser. Text/script which should not be there, is on the web page. See attachment : Example 1 bad.png. It goes all right when ​ftp:// my domain name@ ftp is replaced by me in ​http://www. See attachment : Exmple 1 good.png.

FileZilla (newest versions) fails to connect to a VSFTPD server (2.1.2) using the standard timeout of 20 seconds in standard FTP mode on Windows XP machines. Clients never 'touch' the server as far as server logging is concerned and shows 'connection timed out could not connect to server'. Server is running RedHat Enterprise v5 patched as needed. Kernel: 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5 #1 SMP

1. Increasing the client side timeout to 30 seconds allows the clients to connect, but directory displays and other actions are sluggish.
2. This occurs on previously installed and used FileZilla clients, even those that have been uninstalled and reinstalled.
3. NEW/Fresh (never before installed) installs of FileZilla on Windows XP/Vista machines connect to the server quickly and flawlessly every time with the stock 20 second timeout.
4. We have turned OFF firewalls on the server side, no effect.
5. Disabled firewalls on Windows machines, no effect.
6. Using other FTP clients (cuteFTP, NCFTP, and command line clients) on the effected machines provides clean/quick FTP connections. Only FileZilla seems to have this problem.
7. This is occurring from various locations, and connection types so its not related to a particular network or location on the client side.
8. Problem can be reproduced every time.

When I connect to a FTP site and I start with remotely renaming a file FILE1.TC to FILE1.TC1, immediately followed by uploading a file called FILE1.TC, the connection appears to have been lost.

FileZilla version: 3.2.6.1 OS: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

The following error is shown when opening password protected XLS file is failed (wrong password or cancel button was pressed): "DDE execute request failed: a transaction failed."

filezilla 3.2.6.1 asks for properly quoted command after browsing for a file viewer/editor from dialog prompt, when trying to edit a file.

Filezilla client v3.2.6.1 OS Windows Vista ultimate sp1 intel core 2 quad processor

similar to existing ticket# 4659 but with filezilla clent instead of server. During file transfer with 85k adobe pdf file, prompted twice to overwrite existing file with same name. Upon closer inspection after transfer, file appears to be "cut" at 65k size and balance of file appears to be overwritten, but transfer terminates due to timeout.

Went to verify on second computer: filezilla v3.2.6.1 OS windows XP sp 3 intel core 2 duo

same file transferred without a problem without second prompt to overwrite existing file. Transfer is successful.

Error is repeatable with Windows vista ultimate computer and successful transfer is repeatable with windows xp computer. Appears to be specific to window vista ultimate for this case.

I am trying to save data to my ISP's free FTP; Filezilla is configured as:

Host name dl.free.fr Port : 21 login: robert.soubie@… password : any password

When password is received, messages say :

Freshftp, using the same data, works perfectly; so does Ontrack Easy Recovery Professional, which can send data salvaged from hard disks data to a ftp site.
