I am showing an incorrect time stamp on the remote server. The remote server shows the correct time as does my laptop. A report was processed at 6:30 pm which only takes a few moments to process and the time stamp shows a time of 2:30 pm.

If I type /tmp/ in Local site, it works fine. if I then type ~ in Local site, it says: '/tmp/~' does not exist or cannot be accessed.

It seems to look for ~ as a subdirectory of the current directory.

This is on Filezilla 3.7.3

Hi, when executing the program on my Windows XP pro corp operating system running SP3 (P4 system with 2gigs of RAM), Filezilla locked up and then causes my computer to be rebooted. It happens just as the program is opening the window panes, as they expand outward to form the gui before you can use the program. They almost expand completely, but then the system locks up and the mouse stops moving and then the computer reboots after about 30 seconds of being locked up.

Now, this is not all the time, but after rebooting, sometimes it works correctly and does not cause a system crash/reboot. It has done this same action with the two previous versions of Filezilla.

I have read about 50 changelogs and none of them have contained "added confirmation for drag and drop" meaning that I still have to use WinSCP (yuck), please add this as soon as possible (thousands of people have been asking for drag and drop confirmation for decades as they don't like to destroy their server with the accidental flick of a mouse cursor)

There is an issue with the icons navigation bar in Mac OS X El Capitan version of FileZilla. Either they disappear or look funny depending what you are doing.

So it becomes impossible to use FileZilla in all it's potencial.

When I start a new connection and it's successful, the file toolbar and the website details (port, domain etc.) toolbar disappear. When I wave my mouse pointer over where they're supposed to be they reappear but only where the tabs are.

When navigating the main window of the client with tab and shift+tab, navigation seems to get stuck in the log. In other words, when keyboard focus is on the log, nothing happens when I press tab or shift+tab. I review the log often and I use a screen reader, so being able to use this kind of navigation is critical, and many screen reader users don't use a mouse at all. I discovered it is still possible to use the F6 key to move away from the log, which is a good workaround but not one that will be obvious to many. I do not know if this occurs on non-Windows operating systems but I did verify it on two Windows 10 machines. Marking high priority because even if it affects a small number of people, not being able to exit the log is arguably a blocker to being able to successfully use the client, and on the development side it seems like a small regression.

• Connect to an ftp or sftp server by using FileZilla 3.30.0
• Enter a remote directory and rename a file in that directory
• End renaming operation by clicking outside of the file-name textbox
• As a result, you won't be able to click on any file from that point forward or click on "..." to switch to another directory.

Upon loss of focus during transfers and regain of focus, the file transfer stats are WILDLY wrong. I only have a 30 megabit LTE link but the transfers are claiming something like 90MB/sec (see attached image).

For this session the default settings will be used. Any changes to the settings will not be saved.

Open filezilla client and create a connection to a ftp server for downloading a big file. Then I switch the other window and switch back. The toolbar disappears. When mouse focous on the button's position the buttons appear again. But the other area remain the same. This situation occours sometime.

I had problems with accented letters with Filezilla client freshly downloaded last friday, on a Windows 7 (which I expect to use unicode for filenames).

HYPOTHESIS both of the bug and what is causing it ;-)

I believe that if the filename contains a 'e acute' with unicode value 0xE9 and so have UTF8 value 0xC3 0xA9, then the created file will have the 'e acute' replaced with two unicode characters. The first being unicode value 0xC3 (A tilde) and the second the unicode value 0xa9 (copyright sign). Which I guess could happens if the createFile windows function called was the non-unicode one rather than the unicode one.

I use Windows 7 and everytime I scroll completely down on the client side to show the last file, Filezilla Client hangs up and all I can do is to close the process. So I won't be able to upload the last item to the server.

Only the upper portion of the Title Bar moves the window. The entire Title Bar should move the window.

I recently upgraded to the latest version of FileZilla. I think it worked after upgrading but a day or two later, I cannot open it anymore. It comes up saying "The application Filezilla quit unexpectedly"...

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and the same issue occurs. The only time I got it to work was when I restarted my computer.

The only other thing is I also upgraded the software on my Mac recently... Could that have done anything?

Below are the logs. The connection is still open, but all I see is the ".." entry under the filename & <Directory listing failed> on the server side window. The Remote site: window shows the correct tree, which is the default directory I set up using the advanced tab from the Site Manager screen I used to define the FTPES connection. Other FTPES clients don't seem to have this issue connecting to this server. After I pasted the logs below, I attempted to change directories & again I got the same error as shown below. After I upgrade to the latest version ( v3.2.4.1 ) of the FileZilla Client, it just can't show non-English characters correctly. I see the "2009-04-14 - FileZilla Client 3.2.4-rc1 released" notes about "Always use MLSD to retrieve directory listings on servers supporting it". I think it cause this problem Is it possible to turn it off to avoid this problem? Or is it a bug?

Delete and backspace keys do not work for:

Site Manager, Site Name, "Host" "Port" Change the Logon Type to Normal, then "User" has the same issue. "Comments"

These keys work perfectly for other sites, including in this field I am typing right now.

Repro Steps:

1. Open FZ and connect to a ftp server
2. Open one directory and create a folder with Chinese name, such as "格里"
3. Click the new added folder

Then the name is changed to unreadable code.

When I click on the right side of the windows(Remote Website),if the folder name is chinese,then there will be another folder with messy code name,and the origional folder is still be shown in the list.

Whenever I right click and choose "Edit" menu for a file, for instance a txt file, although the file will open up in my Macbook Textedit app as usual, an error message following will popup says "Opening Failed.... 'file path' could not be opened: The Associated Command Failed".

File extension included txt php htm html etc.. Although I didn't setup any filetype association under the setting menu, it shouldn't behave like that. Also the filetype association command is not working too I had tried. It only happens in this latest app version for Mac.

After upgrading FileZilla from version 3.12.0.2 to version 3.14.1 I'm noticing that sitemanager.xml gets malformed a bit:

• Within a <Server></Server> entry at the end the text that is in <Name></Name> gets appended.
• </Server> gets not indented correctly.

I combine synchronized browsing with directory comparison.

For some reason, the file sizes, even though they are identical (I checked), are mismatched, which shows files being different when using the comparison feature. Those files are text files.

I suspect the issue might come from the FTP server sending erroneous, 1000 or 1024 rounded file sizes, or something similar.

OS is windows 10, filezilla 3.48.1.

I'm not sure if the filezilla team is very fond of this comparison feature, I'm not sure if it can be customized for my needs, but I really like this feature. The feature seems to work fine for jpg and PNG.

I use Filezilla to download the current release of a CMS system we have developed. I have verified that this problem is not in the download of these files but in the upload.

After download the files, I then upload the files to a domain with Filezilla. All files transfer fine and everything looks well, but when I try to access some of the files I have uploaded I get error messages from Firefox.

I then use Dreamweaver to check the script, and it appears that Filezilla has removed all of the linebreaks and whitespaces and characters spaces from many of the scripts.

I repeat I have checked the files after the download and they still have retained there formatting. It is only the uploading process that seems to cause this.

When select option for edit two files from a server with the same names, the 2nd is replacing 1st, and old is not uploading into server.

On new FileZilla_3.10.1, there is a temp files corruption problem with editing 2 files with same name.

Each time I receive and install an update, a temp file is created in my temp directory called nsh505.tmp and I cannot delete this file from the folder. The only way it dissappears is to re-boot. Pleas advise...thank you

I needed to update the index.html file to reflect new information. I dragged the new version from local site to remote site.

I got the "Target file already exists" dialog, which is set to overwrite. I did not click OK yet, because I was waiting on confirmation regarding the updated information. Target file size was similar to that of source file, since little information was added.

I left the computer for just under 30 minutes with the overwrite dialog still on screen (this was an accident). The connection was active when I left the computer.

When I returned, the dialog was still there and the connection was no longer active.

However, I noticed that the actual website was blank (tested on a couple of devices and confirmed by third party). I cancelled the dialog that was still on screen and again I dragged index.html from local to remote.

Server reconnected and the overwrite dialog appeared once again. This time, the target file that was going to be overwritten (index.html) showed up as having a 0 byte size. This is consistent with the blank website I encountered through the browser. I OK that dialog and now the new and updated index is live, no problem.

Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce this error myself, nor do I have the logs-because the client was set to not save them by default I believe, and I exited the program before deciding to submit a report. Still I thought this might warrant some looking into.

I did try searching for this bug but did not find it. It was a hard bug to search for, language-wise.

When I download a folder containing thousands of files and sub-folders I receive a lot of "Target file already exists" pop-ups. I am downloading into an empty folder, so apparently FZ is trying to download the same file twice. I can see from the timestamp of the "already existing" file that it has just been downloaded, but now the file apparently is being downloaded again. I have also observed, that the file that is to be overwritten is smaller than the source file, i.e. the file wasn't transferred fully, but I did not receive any error messages. What is going on? I am really worried if I can trust that everything has been downloaded correctly.

I am using the most current Filezilla version. I transferred the file 1harry.html onto my Website ​http://www.igs.net/~awhp. The file 1harry.html shows 1,190 as the file size from my computer files and 0 when I upload it to the site. I double click on 1harry.html to upload and get the window twice "Target file already exists," with action as "Overwrite" since I'm attempting to upload an updated version of 1harry.html. The transfer starts at Queued Files, looks like it's transferring with the numbers increasing. The message at the bottom says,"Failed transfers(1) and the message "Could not start transfer." Before, the upload would say successful but show the new file size as 0. I have checked the forums and attempted all the recommendations listed but without success. This issue has been ongoing for three weeks.

Hello!

I am totally in love with this client and have been using Firezilla for more than an year now but your latest version is so disappointing. It takes some 10 seconds to refresh my local files and the remote ones. It just goes on loading and then refreshes. This also happens when I delete a file.

Please fix this as soon as possible.

Suggest adding the following enhancements to navigation of tabs:

ctrl-tab should wrap around from the last tab to the first, vice versa for shift-ctrl-tab

ctrl-pgup/ctrl-pgdn should also switch tab, per Windows convetion

rolling the mousewheel over the tab bar should also switch tab -- not convention, but used in a few apps and very useful :)

the option to "always trust certificate in future sessions" is grey'd out meaning one has to ok it everytime he logs.

Using Filezilla 3.53.1 and sessions cache limit with the new TLS session resumption seems to cause problems. (In order for a session to be restored, a cache of previous sessions needs to be maintained. Essentially, these cached sessions are the stored sessions that can be resumed.) There is a limit of 255 sessions in the cache on our server, which means that not all past sessions are capable of being resumed. I think client should definitely not generate an error because a server does not have a previous session recorded in its cache.

my server is running ubuntu 7.10 server with proftpd. i use filezilla to connect to it using explicit TLS. it was all working fine until i updated to the most recent version of filezilla (3.1.0.1). now i am getting an error

When we create FTP accounts, we advise our clients to use your client. This allows the customer to use an FTP session with TLS encryption. A new client downloaded the current version of FileZilla and set it up per our standards (using TLS encryption). When the customer ran the connection, they were able to connect, but received the following:

The customer was continued to be logged in, but the directory listing was not available.

In the certificate details, if you're using TLS 1.3 and an ECDSA certificate, the key exchange will show "ECDHE-RSA", when it should be showing "ECDHE-ECDSA".

It only seems to happen when using TLS 1.3, prior TLS versions correctly display "ECDHE-ECDSA".

I just downloaded the latest version 3.10.0.2 and it wouldn't work. My ISP worked on the problem for a long while today and finally called to say that the new version doesn't authenticate with a PLESK Web host.

Just upgraded Ubuntu to 11.04 from 10.10.

I had no issue with Filezilla at all on 10.10. Now random freezes occur which make Filezilla totally unresponsive and require a restart, the app won't terminate normally when locked up.

I can't identify a specific action that can cause it - its appears to be random.

Filezilla the newest verison does not like any port number it keep giving a syntax error stating it has to be a port from 1 to 6555.

If synchronized browsing is active and a folder contains a lot of small files (>100) the following behaviour was observed: Some files where selected and uploaded. While uploading is in progress, the folder is changed to another folder with a lot of small files (>100) on the local side. The folder is then not changed on the server side while the upload is in progress. Another folder must be selected after upload is finished to synchronize the folder view again. This happens in version 3.2.6.1 and before.

When a new tab is opened the synchronized browsing button stays on, but synchronized browsing is off

With Filezilla Client 3.5.0 there are a lot of information that don't show correcly. The symlinks don't show it, owner and group show the uid and permissions show strangely.

Server is ProFTPD 1.3.3d Server (ProFTPD Default Installation) with UNIX Type: L8.

The same ftp work fine with WinSCP.

I've updated filezilla to 3.9.0.1 and all my sites under 'site management' where lost.

I use a symlink to a dropbox account to sync my sites over several computers. When i copy the sitemanager.xml to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\FileZilla everything works. However, when I create a symlink from that location to the dropbox location, no sites are available.

It worked like a charm in the previous version, can you fix it?

Recently i have upgrade my proftpd server to last release (1.3.4a) on AIX servers (6.1) and filezilla client even at the last release (3.5.3) on Windows does not reconize anymore the symlinks. It happens only with filezilla clients. All other clients i have (standard ftp windows, standard ftp client on AIX) works perfectly but i'd rather filzilla for my customer because it's a very good client ! But now the symlinks are displayed as files and not as directories and we can not go into the symlinks. Mays be this issue is a combination of proftpd last release and filezilla but now i'am block. I'm using capistrano for deployment.

This creates a datestamp-named folder and updates a symlink called "current".

In FileZilla, refreshing the directory containing this symlink doesn't update the target.

I guess that the destination of the symlink is cached, but can't be in this situation.

This goes back to v3.0, just verified in 3.1.5. Create a symbolic link in Linux server as:

ln -s ~/path/dir linkname

FTP to server and refresh FZ and linkname appears in the tree. Clicking on it returns error 550, No such file or directory, may return Critical error, sometimes reports "Failed to retrieve directory listing" and then "Disconnected from server" -- even though it is still connected.

Manually disconnect and reconnect. No change. Connect to a different server, disconnect, come back to the first server, then refresh, and the link is now recognized in v3.0. In 3.1.5 the link never seems to get recognized.

After this, I can't seem to find a pattern: I have a couple symbolic links that work and some that don't, all on the same server, with the same owner/group permissions, under the same user /home, etc. The ones that don't work were updated more recently but I don't see anything in permissions or anything else to explain them not showing up.

How can we clear the FZ cache entirely so that a CWD and "LIST -a" actually get the current server state? I'll provide debug data and any other diagnostic info if requested.

In FileZilla version 3.0.5.2, symbolic links on a remote FTP server are treated as folders in Filezilla. This causes you to be unable to download that file. Other FTP clients and a prior version of Filezilla (Version 2.2.32) did allow for the client to follow the symlink and download the file.

This only appears to be the case when dealing with symbolic links to files. Symbolic links to directories are handled correctly.

I am using FileZilla since the 2.x series, and it consistently does not handle symbolic links to files correctly.

If, for example, one tries to download

kubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso

from

FileZilla displays the error message:

Failed to retrieve directory listing

and cannot download the file (which is actually a symbolic link to the file

​ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/releases.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/.pool/kubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso).

It also seems very strange to me that it seems to have never occurred to any user as a bug (I did a search for "symbolic" before posting this, but nothing turned up); either I must be missing something important, or my search was not for the right word...

When downloading from ftp.symantec.com (dragging file from remotedir to localdir)

in the dir

/public/english_us_canada/antivirus_definitions/norton_antivirus

the download of any one *.x86.exe file more times than not will continue to download past the full 100%. It looks like it gets to the full 100% then it sits for a while then it picks up downloading the entire file again appended to what had already been downloaded. So a 40 MB file might end up being 80 or 120 MB by the time it actually gets to a download complete.

For some reason, the Symantec Endpoint Protection brought up a warning today, saying that the installer of Filezilla client 3.30.0 was a risk. The file was then moved to Quarantine (see attached screenshot).

Just installed 3.1.0.1. Disappointed to have my language set to Dutch automatically, I switched back to English via settings, but this is only the case for the menu and not for the names used in the file list panels and the bottom panel and the tabs used in this bottom panel.

I'm always annoyed when a install program decides form me that I should use some other language than English. Although I'm Dutch I don't like the translated menus (much to long in my native language) and I always use the English versions of software on my PC.

Anyway I like this soft a lot... Keep up the good work.

I have installed FileZilla 2.2.15 client on two machines Both machines have suffered otherwise inexplicable corruption of core MS software

And yes, I am running up to date virus software on both machines

• Machine 1: Windows Explorer consistently failed to

load correctly during Windows XP boot up, following a restart. Required an OS re-install

• Machine 2: MS Outlook encountered problems and

had to close; failed to start in safe mode and reported missing CAB files, requiring repair from original installation disks

I cannot prove that FileZilla was the culprit. However, neither machine has had any similar problems before, and both happened within a few hours of installing FileZilla 2.2.15

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

I'm sorry, I searched a ticket about my problem but those I found didn't meet my expectations. I join a screen copie in order to be clear. The recap sizes displayed by Filezilla are consistent between local and distant site, but a far cry from reality. I don't understand this artefact because by clicking on each file, the size is good, but as soon as it is a folder, the value does not count up the total size of the folders inside.

I don't think it is a bug (because this question has probably been put to you) or if it's intentional, but it's, for me annoying :-(

The summary status on number of selected files / bytes is wrong (too many files) if multiple files are selected using CTRL, SHIFT+CTRL keys. once wrong, the status stays wrong until a single files is selected. Also the sum of file sizes is wrong. It looks like a file is calculated in two times if it was selected using CTRL+left mbutton if CTRL+SHIFT+left mbutton is pressed to extend the selection. The wrong behaviour exists both for local and remote file selections.

Example / how to reproduce:

• Open a folder with 8 files of 1024 bytes each (just as an example).
• Select the 1st file (left mouse button). The summary shows "1 file selected. Total size: 1.024 Bytes" [correct]
• Select the 3rd file (CTRL + left m.button). The summary shows "2 file selected. Total size: 2.048 Bytes" [correct]
• Extend the selection to include files 4+5, by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+l.m.button. There are 4 files selected. Summary shows "5 files selected. Total size: 5.120 Bytes" [WRONG !]

Additional info: The problem always starts when you use CTRL+SHIFT+MOUSE. e.g. select single file 1, CTRL+SHIFT+click file 5 shows "6 files selected", although only 5 are selected. if I continue to CTRL+SHIFT+LMB click alternating on file 1 and file 5 there are still only 5 files selected, but status grows by +5 files (and their size) everytime I do this.

I don't understand the strings ending with " once" in the translation. msgid "R&eboot system once" msgid "S&hutdown system once" msgid "S&uspend system once"

They are use when you right click in the transfer queue (in Windows, not Linux).

Why " once"? Would it not be better to remove " once" from the strings?

Also there is a seperator in the context menu above those strings which is fine in Windows where the strings are visible, but in Linux the seperator is there but the strings are not, so i suggest to remove the seperator when there are not strings below the seperator.

Instead of writing "dotfiles" would it not be better to write "hidden files"?

The majority of the time, file transfers work fine - but what I've found is that periodically when uploading files over poor connections, Filezilla will report that a transfer completed successfully, but it turns out that the "successfully" uploaded file is LARGER (on the remote server) than the original source (local) file!

If, for instance, I upload a directory of 50 images, eventually FileZilla will report 50 successful transfers. However, if I then do a directory comparison of the source and destination, it'll turn out that i.e. 45 of them match in filesize, but 50 of the remote files are LARGER than the source files which were supposedly uploaded.

While the File Queue Tab and the Failed Transfers Tab correctly show files in queue and files that failed to transfer, respectively, the Succeeded Transfers Tab stays completely empty.

This error occured since version 3.9.0.0

Note: the actual Tab names may be a little different, since my Filezilla Client is a brazilian portuguese version and I just freely translated the tab names from protuguese to english.

When I was downloading my website to my computer, Filezilla deleted one of the subfolders I was downloading. Part of the subfolder still showed in the queue to download, but most did not. And when I tried to download that part of the subfolder, it didn't work.

I ended up having to restore that folder from my backups.

When I transfer from local to server a directory with files and subdirs often filezilla transfer only files and make directories without files inside.

I've tried this with Filezilla 3.1.5.1 on windows xp pro.

Result: Only files under MainFolder are added to queue and uploaded. Subfolders appear to be ignored. This has not been the case in the past. Downloading (remote to local) subfolders work as expected.

I have used FileZilla for years with no major headaches and want to thank you for looking into this issue.

I've been using FileZilla for a while, but early this year (March or so), during the same version (2.12/13), I believe, I started getting problems with sudden, unexpected timeouts.

It usually happened right after I logged in and did something (like create a new folder, move a file or switch to a different folder). I also got timeouts during uploads, always when FileZilla sent the keep-connection-alive-comands.

I uploaded two files, each with a different example from the log window.

I hope I'm not repeating a bug, but none of the titles I looked at resembled anything I encountered (they are often vague, anyway, like 'buggy upload' and such...).

I am running XP SP3. When I try to launch I get several XML errors. layout.xml (failed to write), queue.xml and filezilla.xml (access denied).

The "Stop current operation" button is not available and I an unable to stop a download without quiting Filezilla. I am using Filezilla 3.2 on OSX 10.5.

My mouse pointer becomes very sticky during uploads of multiple files - just within Filezilla. In other windows, it is normal. This behaviour makes it hard to make any changes or stop the transfer while an uploading queue is being processed

I opened a connection to download 2 files. While the 2nd (long file) was downloading the status indicator was wrong.

The most recent status message being "Disconnected from server". That could not be right because the file transfer indicator showed the file was downloading and eventually the file did fully download.

I am using WinXP sp3 with all Microsoft patches and the most recent Filezilla (v 3.4.2.1)

Since FileZilla 3.10.3-beta2 the status bar of the local file list always shows "Not connected". This does not change after connecting to a server.

I updated this morning to 3.0.2

The first pane, the status pane – has quit working in this version.

It is blank and does not display any status information.

All other panes appear to be fine.

Only thing I noticed was the status pane.

It takes 1 - 15 mins. to start FileZilla after clicking on the icon.

It is installed on 5 computers, and it the same on all of them.

It is not all the times it takes long time to start. But most of the times it is.

All the computers is: WinXp + SP3 Kaspersky Antivirus/Firewall. (Have try to disable it)

I have try many differen version of the FileZille but it is the same on all of them.

I have had far too many updates and this startup message will not go away. Is there a way to get rid of it?

When we install filezila 2.2.x, the start menu items go into the user's profile, instead of in all users.

Therefore, if I install the application as "Administrator", when the user logs in, there is no way the user can start the application without going manually into C:\program files\filezilla.

Hi, I am using FileZilla on Windows 7, I was transfering many files to my FTP Server. Mostly small files, but few big ones. After all small files are transfered one of the Big files left. The Speedmeter isn't korrekt from that moment. Its as small as while the Uploadbandwith ist divided by multiple transfers, but now there is only one. In my taskmanager i can see that the full bandwith is used, but not showed in the Speedmeter in the Filezilla transferlist. It's growing but slow! I think you have to improve the calculation of the actual Speed, if there are big differences in short time.

With the latest version 3.2.3.1 I found an issue with specifically uploading to Limelight networks. llnw.net (must have an account with them.)

Uploading files found that the speed of upload would slow down to 1k after an initial burst. A 5mb file will upload approx 200k and then slow down to as low as 1k per second. I let the 5mb file upload and it took over 45 minutes to finish. I am on a dedicated T1 and testing the speed I show 1.15Mb/s download and 1.00Mb/s upload speed.

I tried from multiple connection locations and different service providers with the same result.

I checked with Limelight for issues on their end and found nothing. Initially 4/3/09 thinking that it may be net related I waiting till today to test again with the same result 4/6/09.

The tracert to the server showed no significant slow down.

Finally I tried a different FTP client and had no issues with the alternate cleint.

My Internet Connection has 5 MBit/s Upload limit.

I wanted some 1500 MBit/s upload speed. To achieve this I have to set Filezilla to 150 kBit/s in the speed limit dialog. See Screen Shots. When I set the speed limit to 600 kBit/s, FileZilla consumes the whole upload bandwidth.
