Hello,

I am using the new snapshot of FileZilla and i have a problem. The "UP" directory now works but i have another problem in that as soon as i use it i cannot then get into any folder i have not previously been in to.

Looking at it, there seems to be a problem with the /:sd:/ I am not sure if it is being stored twice or something but if i delete it from the Remote Site bar i can then travel into directories manually.

Also, it seems when you go down a level from the root directory and then go back, when you next try and go down a level it fails becasue it is trying to enter :sd:/:sd:

The software was working fine and suddently it wont.

By won't , I mean that it loads the process to the ram , and I can see it the task manager, but I don't see the interface. I have to kill it via the task manager. Any suggestions?

I uninstalled,. re-installed it,. but to no avail.

In version 2.2.14 I am transferring multiple files ([Process Queue] and [Use Multiple Connections] are both turned on). with no upload speed limit.

After the upload has been going, I apply an upload speed limit. Right after I hit [Enter], it stops transferring the current files, takes them out of the queue (altogether) and then continues on with the rest of the files in the queue. The speed limit takes effect, but now I'm short files in the queue that didn't really finish.

I can duplicate this.

I'm using Filezilla Client 2.2.14a. In past versions, after I made the initial connection and started the queue processing, I could disconnect from the primary FTP site and the queue would continue transfering. I could then connect and disconnect independently from the "Q" button.

Now when I press the disconnect button on the toolbar, the primary connection is disconnected AND the queue disconnects and shows "Transferring" in the status window (but nothing is actually transferring). At that point I cannot restart the queue until I close the program and restart it. The queue does not respond to the "Q" button.

I´m using Filezilla Client 2.2.14b under Windows 2000.

I´ve renamed a file with the same name that another file that already exists. The problem is that the application don´t say anything about the problems that you can get if you rename a file with the same name of another. I try to explain me:

1.- I have a file named index.html 2.- I have a file named indexOLD.html 3.- I change the indexOLD.html to index.html and the application don´t show any message advising if you want to rename the filename or overwrite or something like that.

No matter what setting I use, PASV mode is always set after login. On one particular server, this is not an option and I am dropped immediately. It's really rather annoying...

When retrieving data from a remote host, the data is sent to a local port that is not explicitly opened by FileZilla.

The result is that a firewall that unsolicited (or unexpected) inbound packets will reject all inbound data while attempting to use this program in a normal manner.

Example: FileZilla opens port 3825 on the local machine, but the data is being sent to local port 5004, which is not open by any program on the local host. As a result, the firewall on the local host rejects the data.

I use Filezilla to transfert my JPG files to HTTP server. After transfering my images are deteriorated.

an example : original file size is 792 234 octets, after transfer the size is 792 226 octets.

I had this problem only with image file.

When starting Filezilla, the local site shows both the file view and the local treeview, but the remote site shows only the file view. I select View | Remote Treeview, and the remote tree view pane is shown. When I close Filezilla and open it again, the remote treeview is no longer shown.

This manifests itself in the Windows version, v2.2.16.

For the second time in 2-3 months i lost my sites and got an empty sitemanager. The 1st time i used XML, now i used the registry. The same problem.

When it happened: when i quickly EXITED the program, while transfers where happening.

Running latest version and there doesn't appear to be support for SSH with private/public key. You can only use passwords for SSH.

i've tested old version 2.2.14 and new 2.2.17 with same result: while downloading an iso of size ~6GB filezilla looped downloading.... dunno what. i stopped downloading when file exeeded 9GB.

Have been using FileZilla to access mainframe system. Have noticed a problem. z/OS is comprised of two different types of filesystems: USS (Unix System Services) HFS/ZFS that behaves much like traditional unix systems from an FTP client perspective and then there are MVS datasets. The MVS datasets are accessed in the following manner with an FTP client:

'DSNAME1.QUALIFY.THIS'

Depending on the type of dataset, this may represent an individual file or a whole directory. However, when using the GUI, if I am in the HFS location /u/home/cuppett and typing in a directory change into the GUI, it attempts to navigate to this location:

/u/home/cuppett/'DSNAME.QUALIFY.THIS'

I am asking that the pwd not get added onto the front if a special character such as ' is added to the front of the path, or perhaps if the pwd is cleared out on the remote side, pwd is never prepended to what is typed in.

I have used various versions of FileZilla v2.2.17 client. Unfortunately none of the clients allows for exporting the SiteManager settings with the passwords in clear text.

My ISP is TDC (​http://tdc.dk) that comes with a free homepage. When logging in everything works as normal until FileZilla has to use the FTP LIST command. The program doesn't crash or freeze, it's just stuck trying to list the folders and files. FileZilla 2.2.15 works fine. The address to the FTP site is home20.inet.tele.dk port 21.

If you have a network drive mapped to a directory on a UNIX machine, FileZilla can browse it in the "local site" window just as it can with C: etc.

But there's a problem... the UNIX filesystem is case- sensitive, so you could have X:\MyFolder and X:\myfolder as two separate folders (where X is the mapped drive). FileZilla can't handle this. When you try to view a local folder that contains two folders of the same name but different case, FileZilla hangs. It stops responding and hogs around 100% of CPU.

This was particularly bad for me, as I was viewing a folder, then I created a subfolder which had the same name but different case as an existing subfolder, (to be fair, FileZilla didn't let me do this, I had to do it on the command line), and refreshed FileZilla. Not only did it hang at that point, it proceeded to hang every time I started FileZilla... it had remembered the last local view and tried to reload it at startup.

Unfortunately it doesn't get as far as writing anything to the debug file.

When activating the 'Quick Connect' bar in 'View', it doesn't remain activated on next startup of FileZilla.

• Previous version of Filezilla 2.2.17 doesn't show me

a progress bar connecting via SFTP SSH2 to a FreeBSD (SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_3.6.1p1 FreeBSD-20030924) but ran fine connecting via SFTP SSH2 to a Linux (SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.9p1 Debian-1ubuntu2)

• I installed 2.2.18 to see if this problem was solved

(since old versions prior to 2.2.17 showed me progress bar in both machines) but this new version runs inversely: it shows progress bar connecting to FreeBSD but not for Linux!

Using FZ 2.2.18 there is an issue when using FileZilla in HTTP 1.1 proxy mode.

The issue is caused by the use of the CONNECT verb for establishing the connection with ISA proxy.

The use of CONNECT verb cause ISA proxy to raise a 502 error related to SSL connection. Checking ISA logs, show that the proxy try to establish a tunnel for SSL... ​http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616- sec9.html#sec9.9

Using ftp with IE and Firefox browsers cause no problem. An Ethereal capture shows that the GET verb is used instead of CONNECT. But when a tcp port is entered the request is blocked by ISA too...

I use Filezilla to download the current release of a CMS system we have developed. I have verified that this problem is not in the download of these files but in the upload.

After download the files, I then upload the files to a domain with Filezilla. All files transfer fine and everything looks well, but when I try to access some of the files I have uploaded I get error messages from Firefox.

I then use Dreamweaver to check the script, and it appears that Filezilla has removed all of the linebreaks and whitespaces and characters spaces from many of the scripts.

I repeat I have checked the files after the download and they still have retained there formatting. It is only the uploading process that seems to cause this.

Over the last week while using 2.2.17a this has happened several times while transferring large batches of files from W2K machine to a remote site via FTP -

the contents of files in a given directory are switched ... i.e. file hokum.module has the contents that should be readme.txt and vice versa.

All client FTP for linux are very bad.(gFTP,Nautilus,Konqueror,Firefox extension) Filzilla will be the best FTP for linux

I have had multiple problems transferring to and from various linux servers from XP with filezilla my current version is 2.2.18. this problem was noted on previous versions as well.

I have noted may other seemingly unresolved but closed complaints about this bug.

It appears the problem relates to the file being first saved to the server in binary mode, in other words the crlf pair is retained.

if you then transfer the file to a windows machine in ascii mode the file becomes corrupted.

Filezilla does not account for the crlf pair and adds an extra cr making it crcrlf so in hex 0D 0A Becomes 0D 0D 0A

This has been verified.

to repeat it upload an ascii win/dos file to a nix server in binary mode then download it in ascii mode open the file in a hex editor not the hex values as above

I beleive this is the main source of various complaints about ascii mode transfers

filezilla should check for crlf not just cr when doing the ascii nix=>win conversion. if there is a crlf pair then leave as is if there is only a lf then add the cr

This bug has started to occur alot lately and is very quite annoying. What is happening is if i try to upload 2 files at the same time sometimes those files are named incorrectly.

For example I have 2 files, File1 and File2. If i try to upload these to at the same time. The contents of File1 gets saved as the file name of File2 and the opposite for File2 contents saved as File1.

This has occurred on several WinXP SP2 machines and even on Win2K, and doesn't matter if i'm uploading to a windows or a linux server. Most of the files i upload are graphics or text files for website (ASP,PHP,JSP,.NET, etc...)

using filezilla client 2.2.17a I encountered the following: if you browse an ftp directory with more than 5000 files in it you will get a file list back that stops after 4998 files. the rest of the files will be ignored and thus are not accessible for the user.

in my case i tried browsing a directory with 30000 files in it and I found ths limitation quite irritating..

When downloading large files (greater than 2GB), we regularly get back error reports of critical errors - in most cases the file did download successfully.

Question - Are there issues with large file handling that are causing this error?

with the latest FileZilla version on Windows I've noticed a problem while I was downloading the German version of the Wikipedia DVD from a download mirror. It seems that there is a wrap around of an 32 bit variable because FileZilla keeps downloading over and over. The GUI reaches 100% but it is still downloading and after a few hours I had a file of 20 GB on my harddisk. Please download the following file and test it for yourself.

When connecting to a ftps server (vsftp 2.0.4) with explicit encryption (AUTH SSL in passive mode), filezilla client (2.2.19a) seems not to encrypt data and/or command channels, although the authentication session is correctly encrypted. The 'LIST' command gets '150 Here comes the directory listing.' response but followed by an error message (something like : can't proceeded with directory listing). FileZilla seems to wait for a response although the server sends it up correctly.

This transfert with the same configuration is working fine with lftp 2.6 and 3.4 or cuteftp home 7.1, therefore it is not a server problem.

Version: FZ Client 2.2.19a

Steps to reproduce:

• Launch FZ Client

• Enter any valid hostname into the "Address" box of

the Quickconnect toolbar, and add a trailing space. For example, "ftp.wustl.edu "

• Click Quickconnect

FZ can't resolve the host name, and times out.

The same problem occurs if a connection is created in site manager with a trailing space in the hostname. Leading spaces, however, do not cause a problem.

This is a minor issue, but keep in mind that it's not uncommon to get trailing white space if you copy a hostname out of a text file and paste it into FZ.

I am using FileZilla client 2.2.8b. Today I was dragging a file and I accidentally dropped it onto the status bar. The file vanished. I guess this one is very easy to reproduce if you want to...

A user is unable to manually refresh a directory listing on a remote server.

1. Connect to an FTP server
2. Navigate to a directory.
3. On the FTP server (externally to filezilla), modify

the directory you are looking at.

Expected Result: A context menu item allows me to re-request a directory listing.

Actual Result: There is no way to refresh the directory listing, I have to disconnect from the server and reconnect.

Suggested: A right click context menu item to refresh directory contents; similar to windows' file explorer context menus and web browsers.

The "Transfer Queue" pane collapses whenever you minimize the program. You have to resize it to see it again.

FileZilla Client 2.2.22 crashed me system twice, every times computer was restarted to POST. When I try to upload iso image to another computer in local area. On first sight I thought it is some problem with my computer, I try to upload second time with the same result. Finally I uploaded file with internet explorer without trouble. The server is FileZilla Server version 0.9.14a.

When uploading multiple files to a server some of the files are swapped. For example, the following files are uploaded:

about.htm (16 KB) calendar.htm (32 KB) index.htm (64 KB) news.htm (128 KB)

Sometimes, after uploading the files together (with or without the queue), the resulting file list on the server will be:

about.htm (16 KB) calendar.htm (32 KB) index.htm (128 KB) news.htm (64 KB)

The data in the server's copy of index.htm is the data for the client's copy of news.htm and vice versa.

This happens to me at random, but quite frequently. I can never just assume that everything uploaded fine. I always have to check every file on the server or simply uploaded each separately (very annoying).

I've seen this behavior on several client computers and several different servers. I can't find a pattern.

I am using filezilla client 2.2.23 and filezilla server 0.9.16c beta. When uploading text files they resume correctly if they are paused and uploaded again. When uploading binary files they overwrite everytime even though the resume setting has been set.

I can resume with other ftp clients to the same server so I think it's a problem with the filezilla client or the settings I have.

After doing a view/edit on a remote file, Filezilla would normally prompt you to upload the file back to the server. I'm now running FileZilla 2.2.23 on Windows XP Pro (SP2) w/ ZoneAlarm Security Suite 6.5.677, and it no longer asks to save the file and upload the changed file back to the server.

I am not able to connect to a server with v2.2.23a if I use a password with chars like ÄÖÜ.

Everything was fine before I updatet to v2.2.23a and is fine if I downgrade to v2.2.23

It should find the shell's register to locate. desktop's shell register should be HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe rsion\Explorer\Shell Folders\desktop ???

Since FileZilla 2.2.23a, and even on 2.2.24a, FileZilla fails to load on my Windows 98 as it is trying to find/load the "UxTheme.dll" that is not existing. Previous releases were OK on my Windows 98.

With 2.2.22 or older versions : no problem.

FileZilla Version 2.2.x Client kills D-Link DSL-584T during usage. No Protocol works after the kill. The route have to been reseted, to work again.

With other FTP-Clients there are no problems. Switching beetween passive / active mode make no differences. FileZilla kills the router after one file is transfrered.

Any Idea? Any Setting? Any suggestion about the D-Link DSL-584T

When selecting a file with a long name (either in the local panel or remote panel) only a portion of the file name will be highlighted. Additionally, it will truncate the name to 5 characters plus "..." (this is the part that highlights) however any additional characters in the file name past this will still be visible.

This may be a bug with Microsoft Windows Vista, however I felt it prudent to file a bug here just in case. I have filed a bug report with Microsoft as well.

The title says it all, trying to delete a lot of files (750+) takes a long time - possibly because the remote file list view is emptied and refilled for each file. The time to delete each file decreases as the number of files decreases.

If you start transferring a lot of files and then resize the message log window, the files currently being transferred return an error (I've got 8 simulatenous ports open). Once these files have reported their error, operation continues as normal.

I am using 2.2.16 on windows xp. When I upload files I somtimes find that the content of the files is being swapped around. So file a contents end up in file b

When typing an URL in the Quick Connect Address box with username only, FileZilla pops up a dialog box for password but uses it as username.

e.q. ​ftp://someuser@somehost/ is given in the Address box. While FileZilla asks for password, "somepass" is given. In this case, FileZilla connects to "somehost" with username "somepass" and empty password.

I have a reocuring minor problem with uploading large batches of pdf docs

when I try to upload more than 20 pdf docs 2 - 4 mb in size I get a popup error mesage saying that their is a error in the transfer quie and if I can reproduce it report it and the upload then stops

This error has reocured on numerous occasions when uploading pdf docs and I can reproduce

it does not happen with other formats with similar file size jpg html php etc I have found that if I upload 10 pdf docs at a time their is no problem and the transfer list is procesed quite quickly

my os is windows xp pro and my web server is apache

How to use ports aboud FileZilla Client ?

I was trying to download a folder from a Windows server today, and every time I tried, FileZilla would get in some weird loop and fail to download the files/folders.

The folder I was trying to download has 439 files, 65

folders, with a total of 178 MB of data.

I was able to reproduce this problem using both Microsoft's IIS FTP Server and FileZilla Server, so the problem is definitely with the FileZilla client.

I will attach logs from both the FileZilla client and the FileZilla server.

There only is an litle buggy. When i select an directorie, want to change the attributes of the files only. It changes them for those folders also.

during the upload, the filenames gets changed from lower case to upper case. can't it keep the filenames case as they are.

e.g if i have a file name called picture.jpg when I upload to a server, it gets changed to PICTURE.JPG. can it keep it in its original case i.e picture.jpg ?

When downloading a large file ( over 2 gigs ) the download never finishes. It continues downloading indefinitely.

Possibly due to a 32bit signed integer usage instead of a 64bit unsigned int??

All current filezilla exe-files are infected with Trojan.Zlob.B

When I select several files on the local Site list (bottom) and move them to a folder on the same list, one of the file does not get moved - see attached screenshots that illustrate what i'm saying

My virus scanner, Norton, detected a trojan in the FileZilla Client.

In the last couple versions of FileZilla, the Default local directory stopped working as expected for one of my projects.

I've been able to reproduce the condition in version 2.2.25 with the following example:

Steps to Reproduce

1) On an existing FTP site, set the Default local directory to (without quotes): "C:\Projects\eclipse\FauxWeb\workspace\Faux Web Site"

2) Save & Exit the site manager.

3) Initiate a session with the modified FTP site.

Resulting Behavior

FileZilla does not change the location of the left-hand pane to the saved default local directory path.

Expected Behavior

FileZilla opens the specified local directory in the left-hand pane.

Additional Information

If I set the default local directory to (without quotes): "C:\Projects\eclipse\FauxWeb\workspace", FileZilla works as expected. It appears to be the addition of the "Faux Web Site" on the end of the path that triggers the problematic behavior.

In the german translation the english word "site" is translated to the german "Seite", which is wrong. It only looks similar (site <-> Seite). "Seite" is the english "page". It is difficult to translate "site" to german. The normal translations doesn't fit the meaning of the internet term "site". An FTP-site is best called "FTP-Server" in german. "Server" is very common and don't need to be translated. There is also not a very fitting translation for "server". If you really want a good german translation for "FTP-site" that fits the meaning, you could use "FTP-Zugang", which would be more like "FTP access" in english.

I switched my Filezilla to english because this translation really hurts my brain ;) I didn't check any of the remaining translation but this "bug" is the most prominent.

When I start Filezilla Client and use CTRL-R to resume the last connection, the timestamp adjustment specified in the advanced settings for each site is ignored.

This only occurs when resuming the connection from a previous run and not when resuming the connection from the current run. This bug was present in older versions.

I wanted to switch from XML-file to the registry so I exported my settings, uninstalled Filezilla, reinstalled and selected use registry (force).

The problem is that now when I want to import my old settings into the registry nothing seems to happen. I use the import settings tool and select my old xml-file but I can't get my sites back.

On a closer look, it appears that my sites wasn't even saved when I exported my settings. That really should have been the case.

And by the way, using config files does not exclude multi-user. Just save the users config files in their application data folder.

I kept getting a Critical Transfer Error in FileZilla while uploading to SourceForge. It turns out that the server was prompting me to switch to PASSIVE mode; when I did that, the problem went away. It works fine now.

Is it possible for "Critical Transfer Error" to suggest Passive Mode as a possible solution?

I know, there are a lot of bugreports concerning difficulties with countryspecific characters (for example ÄÖÜ) in various contexts. May I draw your attention to the fact, that in the FileZilla-Client these characters do not work in passwords as well.

Users are accustomed to use such characters in passwords, because they are able to use them - for example with Servers as Serv-U and clients like CuteFTP and FTP-Voyager.

Much to my regret this is a reason, why FileZilla at the present time cannot be recommendet as alternative to these clients. Perhaps you can set the bug on the list.

This is very serious!

The contents of files are getting mixed up. I have downloaded my web site several times and the contents of some of the files are interchanged. They are files that are near each other in the directory, so they were probably downloaded close to each other.

I have erased the directory on my PC and re-downloaded the files several times and it appears to be different files each time.

Some History: I previously had an older version of Filezilla (can't remember which one, but about 6 months old) and upgraded to 2.2.26a yesterday. That is when the problem started.

We are having trouble connecting to some servers and have traced the problem back to the code.

A bug that was fixed in the latest version of PuTTY has not been propagated to the latest version of the 2.2.x branch of FileZilla.

Specifically, when filezilla connects, some servers send a window adjust (SSH2_MSG_CHANNEL_WINDOW_ADJUST) to allow the client to send data after creating the session. FileZilla then fails to trigger the send data functionality and thus hangs. The method in question is in SSH.C:

When setting a directory's sticky bit, I think the wrong command is sent to the server.

Reproduce steps:

Right-click a directory on the remote site, choose "File attributes...", enter 1777 as the numeric value, click OK. The remote site in my case is some Linux box (I don't have more details here, I'm sorry).

The message log now shows:

Note the command on the first line in the message log, it states: "SITE CHMOD 49777 /public/sites/www.someserver.nl/aaa", while I think it should be "SITE CHMOD 1777 /public/sites/www.someserver.nl/aaa".

Note that I replaced my actual server with "someserver".

FTP server is on AIX platform, where language is set to slovenian. If file is created in august, it doesn't appear in filezilla remote file window. If I "touch -t" file date to july or september, then I can see it in filezilla remote window.

But file 2.txt doesn't appear in remote file list window.

There are problems with parsing months like "avg".

Same problem on hp-ux with slovenian language, when file or directory is created in august (avg).

Other slovenian abbreviates are: jan, feb, mar,apr, maj, jun, jul, avg, sep, okt, nov, dec

Filezilla is the latest (tested with older versions too).

After login into a server I have to change the internal server by writing for example metusalix/tmp into the "Remote Site:" drop down list. This is equal to the ftp command "cwd metusalix/tmp".

But FileZilla is throwing away the second / and so the command fails. This is what Filezilla is writing into the log when I'm typing "metusalix/" into the "Remote Site:" drop down list and hitting enter:

Command: CWD /metusalix/ Response: 550 Invalid Path Error: Could not retrieve directory listing

but it should be

Command: CWD metusalix/

instead.

When attempting to upload a file to a folder where the user doesn't have write permissions, the FileZilla GUI is caught in a confusing loop. It displays a "File Already Exists" dialog asking the user whether or not they want to "Overwrite", "Overwrite If Newer", "Resume", "Rename", or "Skip". None of this is accurate, since the real problem is that the user has no permission to upload/write the file. If you click "OK" in the dialog and the default of "Overwrite" is selected, the dialog simply returns an additional 2 times and then it appears as if the file was uploaded, but a "Refresh Views" will then show that the file was not uploaded. The only place that the user will see a "permission denied" is in the message log. This is all very confusing. If a user is being prevented from upload a file due to permission denied, shouldn't the GUI just present a dialog that states that?

When transferring files larger than 10MB to a PureFTPD server (Version 1.0.20-7 running on Suse Linux 10.0)upload is successful (according to logs) But the file length is zero bytes. This appears to happen less often with smaller files, but almost always with files of 100MB or more. The newest version seems to do it more than older versions. It will resume properly if interrupted, but is just as likely to create zero length files. I am including the entire log file generated during these transfers.

I haven't found another client which does the same

thing. If needed, I can provide a network packet capture or try it again with various settings if it will help. This problem seems to occur whether active or passive, and through two different firewalls (Symantec Enterprise and Smoothwall) or through no firewall.

Connecting to Globalscape ftp server running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server is causing the ISP server to crash, resulting in a server reboot. (Filezilla version 2.2.26a). Thought the server was at fault but after uploading from CuteFTPpro, on a diferant laptop - I had no issues.

Environmental information:

• One of our passwords contains a Euro character (€).
• The tested connection type is FTP over SSH2
• We use the .xml config file

In version 2.2.22, it worked fine. Since we updated to version 2.2.25, the password isn't accepted anymore.

When does the error happens? The error always happens when we try to open the one connection.

When does the error NOT happens? I can setup my connection properties, reenter the password there and click on "connect", then the server accepts my password. (But if I press "Save" and then connect again, it doesn't work, too.)

Items in exported queue contain password (albiet encrypted) even when "Don'tRememberPassword=1". I would think queued servers would need to reauthenticate when "Don't Remember" was set.

Using Filezilla for one year I've stored all my site with all accesses.

I closed it, reset my computer, and at the start try to launch Filezilla, no problem, but all my sites stored are lost ! There is no more adresses, nothing at all.It's empty ! Can anyone tell me what append ? Because there is a lot of site and I don't remember all my accesses !

Can I find it or not ? Can anybody help me ?

Filezilla Client (2.2.5) does not react to "STOR"- command, if the user has no permision to "LIST"- command.

I'l append a screenshot of the server-settings.

With any ohter FTP-Client there is no problem.

In this situations:

• FTP Download
• Server: IIS 6
• Proxy: HTTP 1.1 without any authentication

The connection is quite unstable so many retries/resume are required to complete de download.

The download still continue when the local file size reach the remote file size. The local file size continue to grow and the file appear corrupted.

In my opinion: The resume restart download from the begining of the file but append to the previously downloaded part. It's not seems to be a server error because pure-http download manager (downloadthemall firefox extension or gigaget) download the same file without errors even with lot of stop/resume operations.

Checking the "always trust this certificate" is not working -- I am prompted every time whether or not to accept the certificate.

Client is FileZilla 2.2.28 (and I reproduced with 2.2.24 also).

Server is FileZilla Server 0.9.19beta

The popup prompt says self-signed certificate (which is true, as I used the FileZilla Server to generate the cert, several versions ago), error at depth 1 in the chain.

When uploading several html files with a javascript, with the file transfer settings as "auto", the javascript broke because some characters were deleted by filezilla. It took me hours to solve this problem.

It was solved by uploading the html files using the

binary setting, even though the files are all ascii encoded! btw, love the program! Thanks for all the hard work!

When you uninstall FileZilla, a dialog is displayed that says: "Delete all Registry keys...(including Site Mannager..."

I login to a server via SFTP using the IP address. The server name is set to some name like "server". I have a user id ssrini on the server. When I login from FileZilla, the user name is automatically set to ssrini@ipaddress but this login will not be found on the server and authentication fails. If I set login id to ssrini@server the login id is set by FileZilla to ssrini@server@ipaddress and this is also wrong.

How do I setup FileZilla to not append any data to the user id specified ? (I can do this in the Putty SFTP command line client easily !)

I'm pretty sure this used to work before 2.2.23. I am currently using 2.2.28.

Now, when you click on a shortcut ("symlink") in the LOCAL file list, instead of moving to that directory (like it used to), it now opens up that directory in a Windows directory view window. (I don't think it's even a file explorer window -- is there a diff?)

When trying to delete a directory the command fails

because of the last slash. If I try to delete the directory using Raw command menu and pasting the same command without the slash, it works.

The ftp server is:

220 FTP server (BSDI Version 7.00LS) ready.

Here some logs. You can see the RMD /xtry/ which fails and the RMD /xtry (passed using Raw command) which does the job:

by going right click, delete folder it does:

it doesnt like that forward slash at the end.

The german translation of the term 'site' is inconsistent and misleading.

In the current version "site" is translated using the words "Server" (which is obviously not the same as site) and "Seite" (Seite is the german word for page!)

Somebody may construct some word like "FTP-Präsenz". But this word is not in use, it sounds ugly untechnical, and it is longer and more complicated than "Site".

Since there seems to be no german word for the term site in this context, I suggest to use the word "Site", which is frequently used by german-speaking people.

on the remote server i am unable to list a directory if the path is longer than 255 chars. Filezilla then simply trunk the path to 255 chars.

is it Filezilla or FTP, that i don't know.

When we install filezila 2.2.x, the start menu items go into the user's profile, instead of in all users.

Therefore, if I install the application as "Administrator", when the user logs in, there is no way the user can start the application without going manually into C:\program files\filezilla.

when you have a leading blank in a filename, filezilla cannot download ist (i made this experience with files in a very long path) - i have the latest version 2.2.9

work around: manual editing of source filename in queue xml file solves the problem

Filezilla cannot navigate into a directory that has a space after its name. For example, if a directory is called "Gross Margin "(notice the space at the end), Filezilla gives a "No such file or directory" error since it seems to parse the space out of the directory name.

I have a problem with solaris 5.8 ftp server.

Some files and folders do not display. I have been reviewing past versions and in the begining i have the same problem, but worst because i couldnt see the most of the files and folders in this operating system.

I have no personal firewall. It is in the local network.
