i´m using the filezilla-client 3.7.3; with SFTP max. 2xConnections. This was the last version with no bluescreen´s. The problem occurs in version >3.7.3 after -> "Action after queue completion"->"shutdown system" (when the queue is empty)

-the new version 3.9.0Beta i haven´t tested, the version 3.8 have the same problem!

When I use the Manage Bookmarks feature, the items are ordered case insensitively. When I close the Bookmark manager, I see that the bookmarks are ordered case sensitively. I think this should be standardized to case insensitive. When you have the time ;)

Filezilla client 3.9.0.6

The Use synchronized browsing checkbox doesn't appear to be bound to anything. Synchronized browsing works appropriately for new bookmarks by setting it in the dialog, but changing it for existing bookmarks doesn't seem to have an effect, and it always appears unchecked even if the bookmark was created with it and it works. I'm using v3.2.3.1 of the win32 zip package from SourceForge.

Even after my session has expired and the connection terminated, I get a "Break Connection?" alert when I attempt to re-connect. FileZilla should know that the connection has expired and not alert me.

When downloading to USB drive in Windows 7, if the drive disconnects for any reason the file download stops and does not restart when the drive reconnects. The file name of the partially downloaded file is moved to the successfully downloaded window instead of the download failed window. This makes you believe you downloaded the entire file successfully but instead you only downloaded part of the file and you have to check each file to make sure you downloaded all of the file.

It used to work correctly in older versions of the client.

Since the last update I have issues with the FileZilla Client. evertime I download or upload an image on my FTP server with your product the file is destroyed u cant see what is on the image but the filesize is the same as efor up or downloading. If i use an other Programm for transfering data there are no issues

I have broken main menu icons on my mac book air. And it breaks every time I click on some buttons in main panel and stays broken next time. And after application restart too. I've attached a screenshot.

In the latest source code /tests/dirparsertest.cpp, there is a buffer overflow in function DirectoryListingParserTest::testIndividual().
len is the length of entry.data, not including the null character. So the sizeof(data) is len. According to the reference of memcpy​http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/cstring/memcpy/, we need to make sure the 1st parameter of memcpy is larger than strlen(2nd parameter)+1(1 means the null-character.) So we should change 1475 to char* data = new char[len+1]; data[len]=0;

To avoid overflows, the size of the array pointed by destination shall be long enough to contain the same C string as source (including the terminating null character), and should not overlap in memory with source.

On FileZilla 2.2.27, go to:

Edit->Settings->FTP Proxy Settings

and select any Proxy Type, then enter some details in the Proxy host, Port, User and Pass fields and save these.

Next go to Edit->Settings->FTP Proxy Settings again and try and remove all the entries you put in the fields and click on None for the proxy type.

You will get a /!\ dialog box with no text. If you press OK for the dialog box and then press OK for the settings window, you will get the same dialog box and cannot get out without pressing Cancel.

In FileZilla 3 I get the following Errors: Error: Could not read from transfer socket: ECONNRESET - Connection reset by peer Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

This only happens on one server I connect to and I can connect and do a directory listing successfully to other servers on the same domain. It doesn't happen in FileZilla version 2 and I can connect and do a file listing on this server with KFTPGrabber so it seems to be an issue with FileZilla 3. I have found that if I go to the view menu and click refresh that sometimes it will reconnect and the directory listing will work but sometimes it won't. It's a difficult bug to squash I'll bet. I have seen others having this same issue in the forum. So just to be clear, I can connect, the error occurs when FileZilla attempts to execute the directory listing on the remote FTP server. The remote FTP server is running Microsoft FTP Service (Version 5.0).

i try all versions portable cludnt version server version

i cannot list my owner pc Harddisk C or D or any one from stick i can connect the server and transfer files from server to my laptop but ohnly on Main Drive like D or D i cannot list any folder on my Lapto to see files or folder on my PC on Server side i can see folder and change them and can see files too und transfer them in both ways .

Previously when a user used SFTP and exceeded a storage quota Filezilla would report an error indicating the user had exceeded the quota and would not upload the file. With the recent update this no longer happens and the user does not receive an error message but only a 0kb file is uploaded. User thinks upload is successful. Please see attached log file.

When using FTPS, the file is not uploaded however the system tries repeatedly to upload the same file over and over and over again. Please see attached log file.

Attached log file is for a user with a 0 storage quota uploading a 82,751 PNG file to the server.

I'm not sure whether or not this is a windows 7 issue but I doubt it.

The program will not allow me to open/edit any files from within the program using dreamweaver CS4 even after setting the file type associations which creates a lot more work for nothing!

Here's the exact error:

The file 'C:\DW\premierparts.ca\acceptDecline.php' cannot be opened: The associated program (WX_DDE#"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS4\Dreamweaver.exe","C:\DW\premierparts.ca\crm\acceptDecline.php"##System#) could not be found. Please check your filetype associations.

The whole problem is that if two files are named the same. e.g. rules.php and one is on the remote server and the other on the local disk, then editing this on the local disk causes that it overwrites the remote server file.

Hi, for about 3 months or more I have problem when I try drag&drop folder/file to my Explorer, so I have to download it to current local directory set in FileZilla :/ I am updating with releases continously, so FileZilla is reinstalled very often. Hi ! I am using File-Zilla for the first time & saw that it's a very nice tool. But, have 4 issues, which are as follows: -

1. Due to any reason, if system get restarted or shut down, it don't keep the track that which of the files are in download/upload process, how much %age is completed & how much is remaining, how many files are their to be downloaded.

2. Suppose a RAR/ZIP file is getting downloaded or uploaded & say it's size is 315 MB. If, in between Internet gets disconnected or by any reason Connection between Server-Client interrupted. Then after resume, File-Zilla continues the Download/Upload process even after 100% process graph & when we see the size of file at the download location then it's size is greater than original size & the file is of NO use.

3. Verfication & Synchronization after download - both of these options are missing.

4. If we set - "Action after Queue completion" to "Close File-Zilla" then it closes the File-Zilla software WITHOUT DISCONNECTING THE CONNECTION FROM SERVER. I personally saw this issue that after completion File-Zilla closes itself & when I check at the Server then in FTP current connection the connection is active. In this process, I suggest that after completion, File-Zilla first gets disconnected from Server & then closes itself. This process should be following in two more actions - Restart system & ShutDown system.

I'm using FTP 3.37.0 (compilation date 2018-09-17) under Windows 10 Enterprise (Version 1703, 15063.1324), all in french.

Settings:

I've a site registered :

• FTP Explicit with TLS if possible;
• Host name setup, no port setup (21 used)
• Normal authentication, login with a '|' and a regular password
• Second tab is left empty/default;
• Third tab is set to passive transfer mode, nothing else modified;
• 4th/last tab left as default.

It's not a public ftp so i can give it by mail but not in public.

Usage: The certificate is expired, and is well raised as expired with a pop-up, with expiratino date in red (level 0). But when i use the drop-down list to see intermediate certificate (n°1) and root certificate (n°2), the expiration date is colored red, even if their expiration date is in the future.

Abnormal behaviour: It seems that the red color of the 'expiration date' zone is kept red for other level than level 0, even if they are not... Shouldn't it be only the expired one that must be in red, and not the other ones ? If in red, we can think that it's expired, even if it's not ;-(

I cannot delete a file because I do not have permissions to. I chmod the file to 777 but the response is: Command: SITE CHMOD 744 index.php Response: 550 Could not change perms on index.php: Operation not permitted

Chmod the directory to recurse into the file doesn't work either.

I believe this is a bug and has been present in all versions that I have used, including 3.2.8.1

After changing the access attributes of a Folder, the new attributes are not refreshed in the client. In this example the existing attributes before CHMOD were 755

Right click on the folder afterwards --> File attributes and it shows the old settings before CHMOD was applied (755). Close FZ and launch it again. It now displays the correct current attributes (777).

In the previous version (the 2...something), you could have changed the file attributes in Linux AND Windows, but now you simply execute a simple "CHMOD" command, which of course does not work on Windows servers.

RaidenFTPD is one of the ftp client that requires CLNT before OPT UTF8 ON. However, the CLNT detection on FZ v2.2.15 fails to detect the CLNT requirement since the reponse of RaidenFTPD is something like:

That is, there is a single quote mark "'" (ASCII 0x27) prefixing the CLNT string such that CFtpControlSocket::DiscardLine method defined in FtpControlSocket.cpp could not catch that and not set 'm_hasClntCmd' to be 'true'.

The attachment is a small patch that adds " 'CLNT" and " \"CLNT" pattern into the CFtpControlSocket::DiscardLine. I'm not sure it will work since I have no VC++ to rebuild on my box. ;-)

CMD+C to copy a file name does not work in the file list.

CMD+A does not work for marking all files in the file list (local and server).

CPU Usage 99% on Windows 2000 FileZilla Client using FileZilla_3.2.8.1_win32-setup.exe The client loads and starts, but stays at 99% CPU usage. The menus are not clickable. I cannot close the application, says the debugger is still running. The only way to shut down the application is to do a shutdown>reboot

I am using filezilla 3.9.0.6 on linux with wxWidgets 3.0.2.

After starting filezilla, without connecting to a server or doing anything, the filezilla process uses 99% of a CPU Core, and the X-Server process raises its CPU load from 1% to about 60%.

When I start filezilla from the command line in the directory where I installed filezilla, I get the error message in the terminal window but the filezilla window opens and appears to function properly.

Note that the error message appears as the filezilla window is being drawn. I have not interacted with the filezilla window at this point.

For years I have relied on FileZilla to overwrite existing files as a method to change the existing item. What I ended up doinf is deleting and then uploading the new file. Now after trying numerous times I get the message "Critical File transfer error". At first I thought it was my upload speed but its not, as I successfully changed files last week. The only difference is that I receive updates from Filezilla and because I chose to let it update for me, it would appear that trying to overwrite is next to impossible. Any suggestions?

Upload on Filezilla 3.7.0.2 of css files from Win7 to GoDaddy arrive corrupted and with smaller file sizes. I upgraded to 3.7.1 and found I could not connect at all, so I downgraded. When files are uploaded directly through GoDaddy they arrive intact.

On opening Firezilla I get: Subclass 'CTToolbar' not found for service 'ID_TOOLBAR', not subclassing!'

Also, I am running version 3.3.4. I have downloaded v. 3.3.4.1 but when I try to install it I get an 'already running' message. I have no version open, and Task Manager does not report either an Application or a Process running.

After connecting to the server with a wrong password this pw is cached and can not be corrected. So Filezilla needs to be restarted in order to connect again. As Filezilla realizes, that the connection can't be opened, it should ask for the password again.

This is still happening in 3.29.0 even though response to issue #4491 says it would be fixed in next version. This happens when save password for this session option is selected upon entering password on a site where login is set to "Ask for password."

When downloading 100GB backup files the overwrite/resume prompt window shows old (cached?) size info about the local files after an unexpected reboot during long download (Enforced Windows Update reboot).

The Local site file listing also shows old data. Hitting F5 multiple times to refresh sometimes updates the window to the current file size. Without knowing it has to be refreshed, FileZilla will redownload large parts of the file.

Event Sequence: Start downloads at 9 am after backup finishes. File download is progressing to 80GB. Unexpected reboot happens at night. Restart the machine and reload Filezilla. Local site and overwrite/resume window show the file progress is at 50GB (the last server reconnect perhaps?) and resumes from 50GB point. Window Explorer shows file was 70GB before download resume.

I uploaded a file to my server through FileZilla. I realized a typo in the file name so within filezill I renamed it to the appropriate name. I then when to check within a web browser if the file was viewable and it was not. The permissions are all correct and it is in a publicly viewable folder.

Further looking into it I found that the file that filezill was showing versus the files that were on the server were different. Out of the 4 files in this folder the one I had change with filezill had not been changed on the server. The server was reporting the old info.

I called the hosting comapny, host gator, and they had no issues with the server or the ftp. So I remove the filezill version I had on my PC, windows 7, wiped all the info out and got the newest version from your site. I added the folder from the zip file to my comp and ran the program. When I ran the program it came up with all the server information already in it.

Two questions,

1. How did it come up with the server info if I deleted the older program and

2. Why is the program not showing the correct files or uploading them.

I get the error message:

"Could not determine the target of the Drag&Drop operation. Either the shell extension is not installed properly or you didn't drop the file into an Explorer window."

I have the shell extension installed and I dropped the file into an explorer window.

Also, I am able to drag & drop a file from explorer to Filezilla.

I need to troubleshoot the problem. Before I change my PC hardware i was working great but after I change my Major PC Hardware and install the Windows OS, I starting to have this problem... It will let me log in at the Nationa-anime.com server, let me view or open file directory but when I try to download file it won't download anymore. I already adjust my Norton firewall including the windows firewall. I can download using a Torrent software. So what should i need to do?

Since I updated to the latest version (3.13.1), I could no longer connect to one of my FTP servers using sftp. There were no changes on the server side, and nothing out of the blue seems to happening.

This issue was also in the 3.13 version, though I did not report the bug at the time. The last working version that was able to connect to the server is 3.12.0.2.

I can't connect to any of about 7 sites I normally maintain via FTP - same error message for each.

I've updated Filezilla, updated my browser to OS X Maverick, re-installed and older version of filezilla, and nothings helped.

Any clues please, or things to test to find where the problem is.

Since I've upgraded macOS to mojave I can not move multiple items (single files or folders) from local drive to FTP server. Once I select more than 1 item FileZilla hangs or shuts down. I can transfer (by dragging) files only one by one. It takes forever. I have FileZilla client 3.37.1

Once an address is attempted, it can not be removed or edit from the Quick Connect drop down list.

Since the last upgrade I can no longer get a directory listing on my websites. I also got a Server Certificate message. My ISP has said other FileZilla users have reported this and that it is related to the Active or Passive setting on FTP Transfer mode :

I'm able to upload to ftp sites, but when I try to download files from the same sites I receive:

Error: Failed to open "/file" for writing Error: File transfer failed

However, I'm able to use other ftp clients to upload and download to the same ftp sites. I can also successfully download the files on filezilla by using the "view/edit" option instead of the download option.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

When creating a new site in the Site Manager, under Encryption, there is the option "Only use plain FTP (insecure)". If you choose this option and fill in the rest of the information, and then click OK or Connect, it still defaults to try and use TLS. In fact, it seems that no matter what option you choose under Encryption, it seems to default back to "Use explicit FTP over TLS if available".

Steps to reproduce: 1.) Open Site Manager, and click New Site. 2.) Fill in the standard info, and under Encryption, choose the option you want. In my case, plain FTP. 3.) Click OK or Connect 4.) Go back into Site Manager, click on your site, and view the Encryption setting. It will not be what you chose, but "Use explicit FTP over TLS if available".

If I do, I can't connect to an FTP site. I always time out. So I then have to just reinstall 3.7.3 which works properly.

I have already tried reordering cipher suites as desribed here, but it didn't help: ​http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaushal/archive/2011/10/03/taming-the-beast-browser-exploit-against-ssl-tls.aspx

Changing certificates on the FTP site doesn't help as well. I think the error happens before certificate is received.

WS_FTP and some other FTP clients work fine, while WinSCP makes a connection but throws errors on file transfer (something about invalid signature). It did help with file transfers when I prioritized TLS_RSA_WITH_RC4_128_SHA on the server SSL Cipher Suite Order.

It is worth noting that a version of FileZilla from a few weeks ago (I don't know which one exactly) connected fine, but was not able to transfer files (also a lot of errors), exactly what WinSCP does now.

Connecting to my Windows Server 2008 R2 (IIS 7.5) machines works perfectly. FTP sites are configured the same way as they are in the IIS 8 installation.

I updated filezilla to latest and cannot connect to half of my servers. This happened to me back in 2013 once but you guys fixed it pretty fast.

I generally like copying pasting paths in the local site / remote site path between my tabs. This was possible until the latest version came out. It's now no longer possible in the MAC Filezilla client. Is that a bug or a feature that was removed?

I'm currently unable to download files over 30kb in size, the transfer starts and works normally, until 30kb has been downloaded, then for some reason the connection gets dropped, and the transfer restarts. Just before this was happening however, I was getting a 451 Broken Pipe detected error message.

Recent versions of FileZilla will not download certain text log files which contain very long lines or weird escape characters. I know one or the other causes the issue, but I can't tell which is the problem. I can upload these weird text files using FZ, but they cannot be downloaded using FZ. I have tried "auto", "text", and "binary" modes when downloading.

The attached "access_log_search.2018-08-01" file is an Apache server log file in text format from my hosted site. This file is a compilation of a certain type of SQL hack. This type of attack has no affect on my site, but the very long lines or an escape character prevents me from downloading the server log for that day. This is VERY annoying and so I must fall back to other methods to download the log file. While every line in my example log file is weird, just ONE of these weird lines in a log file causes FZ download to fail on that line.

I can understand that if "text" or "auto" modes were used to download, an extremely long line-length or perhaps some weird escape characters inside the file might cause FZ to fail. But I don't understand why the file download hangs if "binary" mode is used. FZ should not process the file contents in that mode. It should just flow the data to my computer.

This download error type seems to be due to a relatively recent change in FZ. I've downloaded these rather strange log files many times in the past. From my experience, the issue seems to have been introduced within the past 6 months.

However, I cannot decide if this is a FileZilla issue or an FTP host issue. My hosting company (Web.com) says this is a FZ issue. I do not have any problems using the online file manager to download these weird log files. But using the Web.com online file manager is a nuisance.

From the verbose mode FZ debug log below, the error line which appears to describe the problem is....

"Error: File transfer failed after transferring 1,400 bytes in 20 seconds"

The retry gives this similar error line...

"Error: File transfer failed"

The full verbose level 3 debug log from is attached as "filezilla.log". I also appended the status screen log from an earlier attempt in "filezilla status window.txt".

By the way, all personal information was masked in both FZ logs. This is a security issue which should be corrected in the FZ log files. The debug logs do NOT need to include FTP hosts, URLs, usernames, or IP address specific to an FTP host.

I am having trouble downloading certain files from my webhost. I think this has something to do with the filename itself. The filename has 1 space, a colon (:), and underscores.

example file name: "2008-05-01 13:52:14NO_GAME_FOUND.txt"

I am running FileZilla 3.0.9.2 on Windows XP SP2

I have tried an older version of FileZilla (2.2.19a) running on Win 2000 Server SP4 and downloading the exact same file works.

Previously I was able to select some files or directories from the Remote Site window and drag/drop them into the Queued Files. That doesn't work anymore (nothing happens). To achieve that functionality now, I need to right-click the files and choose "Add Files to Queue".

This seems like the weirdest problem to have. I've been shown that its a simple drag n drop, but i can't drop my docs onto filezilla. This is keeping me from moving forward with my website. Is this a firewall issue? I have Mcaffe on my computer. Let me know if seeing the docs simplifies. Hope this is a simple solution. Thanks, Jill

First I open a file to edit, using right mouse click and choose "Edit". Then Notepad (the associated program) opens. When I close Notepad and then again choose "Edit" I get a warning: (translated from Dutch) File can't be opened. The corresponding command has failed.

This happened after I upgraded FileZilla Client to version 3.10.0.

note: another user of our system was able to obtain a directory listing, but he has far fewer data sets than I do.

I'm using FileZilla and it has worked without problems for a long time. When I recently did an update I start to get problems with directory listings. I have now problems of logging into the FTP server. Then it comes to fetching directory listing it fails, the sequence is like this:

I copied and pasted a URL into the Address field but got a space at the end. FileZilla couldn't connect until the space was removed.

I'm on version 3.41.2. I can't report a bug without upgrading to 3.42.1. When I upgrade it wants me to load 3rd party virus protection software. My company doesn't allow that, so I cancel out of it and it doesn't install the software. So I can't report the bug. Which is by the way, Filezila runs at system startup and I don't want it to. And I can't find it in the startup files. My only option at this point is to uninstall it, and install it when I want to run it. Pretty lame stuff.

In all versions of the FileZilla Client source after 3.0.4 (including the latest at the time of writing, 3.1.6), I have been unable to link the filezilla client binary using HP's C++ compiler in HP-UX 11.X. I have been compiling with "aCC -AA -O -D_HPUX_SOURCE -D_XOPEN_EXTENDED_SOURCE" and using wxGTK 2.8.9 - here is the link error:

Sadly, I have been able to work out why the link fails (removing optimisation doesn't help, before you ask).

We use a Sambar FTP server. And I can't use Filezilla like I do whit my Linux server. The problem is the list of directory ans files. All other ftp client work fine ans explorer too when I connect to my Sambar server that run on a NT server.

I have a local server running Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10, connected to my Win7 Pro with the Windows "connect a network drive" functionality. I'm connecting filezilla on a distant ftp host using my Network Drive on OSX as "Local Site".

Before i upgrade my Mac OSX Server to Yosemite 10.10, no issue. But after Yosemite upgrade, i am sometimes not able to get the Mac OSX Network Drive files list.

After a lot of tries, i get was is causing this issue : when the directory has more than 100 elements inside, i can't get the file list. Less than 100 elements, no issue.

I have been using filezilla for years now and all of a sudden I seem to have lost access to all my stuff. I haven't changed my log in information or password at all and now I can't log in. I get a "Critical Error" and "Could not connect to server" It is vital I get this working asap.

Please help me in any way you can,

Got the same error with an older version. But it works fine with FTP Expert v.3...

Downloaded 3.5.2_i686-apple-darwin9.app from FileZilla-project.org. Upon attempt to open the app received the message: "You can't open the application FileZilla_3.5.2-i686-apple-darwin9.app because it may be damaged or incomplete."

I searched the bug reports and forum for this problem and only found on the forum to compare the checksum of the file with that of the FileZilla Project checksum.

I'm currently running 3.5.1 and it works fine so I tried to download 3.5.1 and got the same message when I tried to open it.

Just upgraded to 3.3.4-rc1, no problems with the upgrade. Then tried to transfer a couple of files by dragging and got error 2. However when I right-clicked and selected 'upload' - it worked fine. So it appears to be drag-n-drop related issue.
