#8776 Displaying incorrect Last Modified Date over SFTP-SSH protocal connection normal outdated Windows Windows 7 SP 1

Reported by sbianconi, 13 months ago.

description

FileZilla version 3.7.1.1 Windows 7, service pack 1. Issue discovered when connecting over a secure SFTP-SSH protocol connection. The Last modified date of a .txt file is showing the year 2010, when it should show 2013. This only occurs over the secure connection, not in any regular FTP connection protocol. This is not an issue with the remote site as a different FTP program used at my institution displays with the correct 2013 date. Attaching .png screen shopts of both for examples.

#8784 Auto upload when editing/viewing files normal duplicate Windows 7 Pro

Reported by blueblau, 13 months ago.

The feature listed in the title, does not work, even when the option that disables the feature is unchecked in settings.

Option disabled:  http://i.imgur.com/ZfJLwbC.png

Popup still shows when saving, and change focus back to Filezilla:  http://i.imgur.com/ZWWU1Wp.png

Is it by design, and poor labeling, or is the feature broken?

Thank you for a brilliant piece of software!

#8797 Slow access to File Shares normal duplicate Windows Windows 7

Reported by jthomas, 12 months ago.

Our sFTP site is populated with files from our File Shares. When opening FileZilla, the access to these shares is excruciatingly slow, often taking over a minute to populate with the files found on the drive (none of which are over 1MB). The access to these shares are not slow when accessed through any other means (Windows Explorer, for example).

#8807 Crash when Ok or Connect with Site Manager normal outdated Linux Kubuntu 12.04

Reported by markskayff, 12 months ago.

description

I'm using Kubuntu gnu/linux 12.04. I have downloaded and installed Filezilla directly from your site. I've been using it in this Kubuntu distribution for about a week now (few days).

Today when using the Site Manager after configuring several sites, I find that when I click on "Connect" or "Ok" Filezilla just crashes and goes away. This is happening to me all the time and is not allowing me to use the Client (will I have to go look into another one after using Filezilla in Windows for 6 years?).

So this is just going on when turning on the "Site Manager", choosing one site from the list and then clicking on "Connect" or "Ok" -it happens with either-, then Filezilla just crashes.

Wanted to report this as it's very odd. Never happened to me before/

#8849 No Connection when connecting through a Win7-PC with "share internet connection" normal wontfix Windows Win7

Reported by MikeKnife, 11 months ago.

description

Setup-desciption:

Internet= [Cisco WLan-distribution-system (EAP)] =WLAN= [Win7-GW-PC] =LAN= [Internal-LAN; Work-PC(Win7)]...

Appartmenthouse-Installation with Cisco-Routers, authentication: Enterprise-AES-EAP

The Win7-GW-PC connects to the Cisco-Router through WLAN and is configured to share the internet-connection of the WLAN-interface through a second (LAN-) interface to the internal LAN

A PC connected to this LAN can do everything, even DL via Firefox-Browser like: " ftp://userid:pw@filezilla-server-address.net"

No connection can be established to the same filezilla-server using the filezilla-client. It stalls at the "211-Features" response:

(Using filezilla-client on the [Win7-GW-PC] itself works fine.)

Hint: After setting debug-mode to 3 for testing and a restarting the filezilla-client just one time the directory was displayed correctly, but that could not be reproduced yet. This might have been a coincidence but leads me to the assumption that timing might be an issue here.

#8878 Symlink (dir) not updated on refresh normal worksforme Windows 7

Reported by jezmck, 11 months ago.

#8902 PROBLEM UPLOADING FILES normal outdated Windows Win 7 professional

Good Morning, today I noticed several times the same problem: copying a lot of files (500~1000) to an empty folder I receive (randomly) the message: "the target file already exists, please chose an action ..." In the message box the first file has the correct size, the second file has a size of ZERO byte. I think may be a problem in the creation and copy of the file. I am using the version 3.7.3 on a 64 bit system with win 7. Best regards

#8929 Fails to recognize Binary Files normal duplicate Windows All

Reported by phultin, 10 months ago.

description

This is an issue that we have observed over the past several years, but have worked around. I just figured perhaps I should inform you because the workaround is getting to be a pain. We use Filezilla to move data folders from our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectrometers to individual students' and researchers' computers for data processing. These folders contain a mixture of ASCII and Binary files. When one downloads a data folder with the Transfer Type set to "Auto" the result is corrupted data, presumably because Filezilla fails to recognize the Binary files as distinct from the ASCII files. When one sets the transfer type to "Binary", everything works just fine. The thing is, "Auto" should recognize these files and it apparently does NOT. Each year we introduce a new crop of students to using our spectrometers and the concepts of moving data and inevitably the need to switch data modes gets lost in the shuffle. I would really appreciate it if you guys could fix this.

I have attached a typical data set for you to look at.

#9042 Directories are shown as files when connecting to FTP share normal outdated Windows Windows 7

Reported by mandera, 9 months ago.

description

I'm using Filezilla for a couple of years now to copy files to and from my mediacenter hard-drive. Everything worked fine till today. When connecting to the disk (in this case acting as an ftp server), it shows all my drives as files. And therefore they won't open up in Filezilla. I'm just getting odd error messages like "file copy failed". I tried another FTP-application and it opens up fine, also when using Firefox, there are no problems at all.

I also tried re-installing Filezilla and we are using the latest version of the software on Windows 7 Professional SP1.

#9050 Floating server list option normal outdated Windows

#9065 Large file uploads to 100% and fails normal rejected Windows

Reported by jeffred15, 9 months ago.

When I upload a file it uploads fully then restarts the upload infinitely. It will not save to location. I've tried all the different options for "action after queue completion" but none seem to let the fully uploaded file enter my directory.

#9074 file modification date wrong in remote site - 1969 normal fixed Linux ubuntu 12.04

Reported by apolinux, 8 months ago.

description

I have installed two sftp servers in windows 7. I always use filezilla client for any connection and all works right. But in this special case with windows, I got the problem that the date reported in remote sever by filezilla was very wrong. The client reports a datetime near in 1969 year, but the files were modified in this year 2013.

By the way I'm using ubuntu.

I tried another client GFTP and the date error dissapeared. Please fix it.

cliente Filezilla v. 3.5.3 server: windows 7 professional / Core FTP Server I used before fresSSHd server with the same result.

#9131 FileZilla Client 3.7.2 thru 3.7.3 Displaying Last Modified date in the Future. normal outdated Windows Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Reported by macslayer, 7 months ago.

I am seeing any new files added to a RHEL 5.x box using SFTP, shows file having Last Modified date that are in the future. I have seen the bug here in tickets, but it seems to just get dismissed ? If I go local to the server via ssh the dates are correct locally. I have checked the ntp server, the date/time, zones, on server and client and everything is in order. My client machine is a Windows 7 Pro sp1 64bit os.

#9141 Filezilla silently fails to start under OsX 10.9 with default security configuration normal fixed OS X 10.9

Reported by rasathus, 7 months ago.

description

On a clean install of Mavericks, where the 'Allow apps downloaded from' setting has been left in its default state of 'Mac App Store and identified developers' Filezilla fails to run, with the console output ...

30/12/2013 11:50:04.037 CoreServicesUIAgent[4974]: Saving rejection record:
Rejected URL=file:///Applications/FileZilla.app/
App URL=file:///Applications/FileZilla.app/

As I understand it this is the OS killing the Filezilla process due to the default security settings. If the OsX setting is altered to 'Anywhere' Filezilla runs up as expected.

The 'Bug' I wanted to report is that for some reason, I assume due to the way the application runs up; there is no display to state why the application didn't run, it just silently fails to start. Other applications trigger an OS pop up stating that the application can't be run due to the current settings, and appear in 'System Preferences >> Security & privacy >> General' with the option to allow them anyway.

#9160 Can not connect to server normal rejected OS X 10.9.1

Reported by ebevernage, 6 months ago.

description

Error message as below: Status: Waiting to retry... Status: Resolving address of smtp.caxton.co.nz Status: Connecting to 222.154.230.175:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Error: Connection timed out Error: Could not connect to server

I can't connect to any of about 7 sites I normally maintain via FTP - same error message for each.

I've updated Filezilla, updated my browser to OS X Maverick, re-installed and older version of filezilla, and nothings helped.

Any clues please, or things to test to find where the problem is.

#9228 Slow double click to rename file then right click freezes whole interface. normal duplicate Linux Ubuntu 13.10

Reported by Enjabain, 6 months ago.

description

This happens to me farely often, I will click a file slowly twice usually by accident, and then right click (my initial intended action). If you right click in that text box that appears after the slow double click it freezes everything. I can still Exit through global menu but that is about it.

I think i am an overclicker so this may not have come up for other people :)

I am using Ubuntu 13.10 and filezilla 3.7.3 I have had this issue for a long time over several versions of each.

Just tested on OSX and it is not an issue there.

Thank you filezilla!

#9304 non ASCII folder names are displayed wrong in FileZilla Client for mac normal rejected OS X 10.9.2

Reported by dotnetCarpenter, 5 months ago.

I have a website with an IDN name, demægtigevikinger.dk. On mac (OSX 10.9.1) the name is displayed as: /demægtigevikinger.dk

I can live with that, but FileZilla Client for mac creates duplicates of the folder when I upload and setting "Default remote directory" does not work. My work around is currently to sync to a Windows 7 PC via git and use FileZilla from Windows.

I will try to attach a screen shot to the ticket after submission.

#9318 'Overwrite if newer' overwrites file even if they have the same timestamp while uploading. normal fixed Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

Reported by YuundaJan, 5 months ago.

description

Using version 3.7.3 the options 'Overwrite if newer' works correctly. However, after upgrading to version 3.7.4.1 all files are overwritten even if the files have the same timestamps.

I tested it with identical directories and files. First I uploaded files with version 3.7.3. Everything works as expected. Only files that actually were newer got transferred. Then I set-up exactly the same files and directories and use version 3.7.4.1. All files were transferred, even the files having identical timestamps.

I also noticed that the files have correct identical timestamps in the treeview (see attachment for just one file).

Settings the server timezone offset +1 solves the wrong file-overwrite behavior. However then the times in the treeview are not displayed correctly.

The logging for transferring 1 file that has identical timestamps at both the server and the client (test.txt) looks as follows:

#9337 Transfer not retried after code 530 normal wontfix Windows 8, 64-bit

Reported by sdonovan, 5 months ago.

description

Windows, version 3.7.4.1. Imagine I attempt to transfer/upload 20 files to my FTP site (not FileZila server). My FTP server supports 10 connections. I set the transfer to support 10 connections. Sometimes, the server fails with code 530 (see log below).

Bug is, when that happens, it doesn't attempt to re-try file upload.

I have attached a log file. In is it the initial attempt to upload the files. Then, there are 2x more attempts to upload the files that didn't initially transfer.

I understand that the retry logic is tricky. However, the minimum it should do is -- at the end of the transfer, it could show a dialog saying something like "7 of 20 files failed to transfer".

Keep up the good work!

Sean

#9454 Target File Shows 0 bytes normal invalid Windows Windows 7

Reported by Mscooter25, 3 months ago.

description

I am using the most current Filezilla version. I transferred the file 1harry.html onto my Website  http://www.igs.net/~awhp. The file 1harry.html shows 1,190 as the file size from my computer files and 0 when I upload it to the site. I double click on 1harry.html to upload and get the window twice "Target file already exists," with action as "Overwrite" since I'm attempting to upload an updated version of 1harry.html. The transfer starts at Queued Files, looks like it's transferring with the numbers increasing. The message at the bottom says,"Failed transfers(1) and the message "Could not start transfer." Before, the upload would say successful but show the new file size as 0. I have checked the forums and attempted all the recommendations listed but without success. #9468 encrypt websites data, irrespective of application password normal duplicate

Reported by raananb, 3 months ago.

description

Five years ago (Ticket #4565) this request was rejected, with the conclusion "On a secured computer plain text passwords are secure".

There is no such thing as a secured computer, and recent events prove this without doubt.

If you trust your door lock, then you may conclude that you dont need to lock drawers, but in reality you do: you are protecting at different levels; you may want your kid not to have access to the drawer but you still give him a key to your house. The drawer lock may not be foolproof, but it does deter from prying.

Website data needs a drawer-level security.

Stating that "A (security) chain is only as strong as its weakest link" does not mean that making things more difficult to an intruder is useless.

I wish the developers take a different stand on this issue. Until then, I will replace FileZilla with a client more respectful of this point of view.

Bye FileZilla.

#9510 Cannot Connect Windows 8.1 normal rejected Windows Wondows8.1

Reported by Leatherneck1983, 3 months ago.

description

Critical error, could not connect to server

is what I get when I try to connect. I spent hours on the phone with tech support trying to resolve the issue, seems like it's the Windows 8.1 firewall. But I have no idea how to fix the problem. I searched the forums and old tickets here too. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.

Thank you very much.

#9550 Repeated failure to transfer a certain file normal invalid Windows 8.1 Pro

Reported by reydan, 2 months ago.

description

I just encountered an error where FileZilla repeatedly tries to transfer a file but it says it fails. I only noticed the problem on a handful of files.

The ftp server is pure-ftpd 1.0.36-1.1 running on Debian.

Here is a debug log from Filezilla where it attempts to get the file. I can provide more logs (from pure-ftpd as well) if needed.

#9551 3.8.1-rc3 does not auto update to new nightly builds normal fixed Windows Windows 7

Reported by JanRei, 8 weeks ago.

description

If I set FileZilla 3.8.0 to search for new nightly builds it correctly suggests the build 2014-05-29.

Now I have installed FileZilla 3.8.1-rc3. If I choose to search for nightly builds it says I have the latest version.

I have had a look at filezilla.xml. It seems FilleZilla got the correct info from update server.

#9580 locale_initializer.cpp:295: no member named 'front' in 'std::basic_string<char>' normal fixed OS X OS X 10.7

Commit r5537 introduced the following problem:

when compiling FileZilla against wxGTK on Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8. (10.9 probably works fine because it uses a newer compiler.)

#9582 FileZilla "hardcodes" inclusion of GTK2 even when wxWidgets use GTK3 normal fixed

Reported by mojca, 5 weeks ago.

description

I have wxGTK 3.0.1 installed (I'm using OS X 10.7, but I'm almost sure that this isn't OSX-specific and could be reproduced on Linux; I didn't try though).

$ wx-config --cxxflags
-I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__

$ wx-config --libs
-L/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib -framework IOKit -framework CoreServices -framework System -framework ApplicationServices -lwx_gtk3u_xrc-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_webview-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_html-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_qa-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_adv-3.0 -lwx_gtk3u_core-3.0 -lwx_baseu_xml-3.0 -lwx_baseu_net-3.0 -lwx_baseu-3.0

The problem is that FileZilla's configure hardcodes inclusion of GTK 2 headers:

  if echo "$WX_CPPFLAGS" | grep __WXGTK__ > /dev/null 2>&1; then

    AC_PATH_PROG(xdgopen, xdg-open)
    if test -z "$xdgopen"; then
AC_MSG_ERROR([xdg-open not found. This program is the preferred way to launch the default browser. Please install the xdg-utils.])
    fi

    PKG_CHECK_MODULES(LIBGTK, gtk+-2.0,, [
AC_MSG_ERROR([gtk+-2.0 was not found, even though the used version of wxWidgets depends on it. Are you missing the gtk+2.0 development files?])
    ])

    AC_SUBST(LIBGTK_LIBS)
    AC_SUBST(LIBGTK_CFLAGS)
  fi

and this fails to work:

/usr/bin/clang++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../../src/include  -I./../include -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__ -I/opt/local/include  -D_REENTRANT -I/opt/local/include/gtk-2.0 -I/opt/local/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/gio-unix-2.0/ -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/cairo -I/opt/local/include/atk-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/cairo -I/opt/local/include/pixman-1 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/gdk-pixbuf-2.0 -I/opt/local/include/libpng16 -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/harfbuzz -I/opt/local/include/pango-1.0 -I/opt/local/include/glib-2.0 -I/opt/local/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/freetype2 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/freetype2 -I/opt/local/include -I/opt/local/include/libpng16  -I/opt/local/include -fpch-preprocess -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/lib/wx/include/gtk3-unicode-3.0 -I/path/to/wxGTK/3.0/include/wx-3.0 -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -DWXUSINGDLL -D__WXGTK__ -pipe -Os -arch x86_64 -stdlib=libstdc++ -Wall -g -fexceptions -std=gnu++11 -MT filezilla-filelist_statusbar.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/filezilla-filelist_statusbar.Tpo -c -o filezilla-filelist_statusbar.o `test -f 'filelist_statusbar.cpp' || echo './'`filelist_statusbar.cpp

This isn't a showstopper on Mac where users can (and should) use the native Cocoa user interface (but one shouldn't assume that GTK always means Linux though). We provide wxGTK 2.8 as a fallback for programs that require wxWidgets 2.8. In this case I wanted to provide a wxGTK 3.0 fallback because some functionality in the Cocoa inteface isn't working properly yet on Mac.

But I'm afraid that this would be a problem on other OSes as well.

I attached an example. FileZilla 3.8.1. with the same settings shows the expected result.

#9615 Error when closing Filezilla Client 3.9.0-beta1. normal duplicate Windows Windows 7 Pro 64bit [v6.1.7601]

Reported by TheMightyDude, 4 weeks ago.

description

I am using Filezilla version 3.9.0-beta1 and I get the following when closing Filezilla if I ever had a file open which may or may not of been already closed.

[Filezilla Error] File 'C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Temp\fz3temp-1\empty_file_yq744zm' couldn't be removed (error 0: the operation conpleted successfully.)

This isn't a show stopper more of an annoyance, I have also added steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce: 1: Connect to server using FTP and Type Normal. 2: Open any file for View/Edit. 3: Close file viewer/editor with the file opened in step 2. 4: Now close Filezilla. 5: You will be told by Filezilla that some files are still being edited or need to be uploaded, even though they are no longer open. 6: Click on the Yes button. 7: Now a Error dialog pops up with above error.

This never happened in the last version of Filezilla and I always update as soon as I am told Filezilla has been updated.

Thanks Paul

#9647 File corrupted in passive mode when uploading normal rejected Linux Ubuntu 14.04 64bits

Reported by PhoneixS, 8 days ago.

description

The problem is that when I try to upload certain files in passive mode, FileZilla tell if I want to overwrite it (although it wasn't present in the server) and the file is truncated to 1.4KB.

I attach the file that fail, "c8.d", and the same file with a byte less that don't fail, "c11.d".

I also attach the log of a complete sesion: connect to server, navigate to folder, put file, cancel overwrite question, delete file.

The ftp server is vsftp, I can't tell more of it until the server admin get in grace to tell me what version is.

A thing that is strange is the other files of more size get uploaded correctly.

My system (as said in FileZilla) is:

#9668 3.9.0.1 causing crashes Do not touch normal duplicate Windows Windows 7

Reported by reliquum, 28 hours ago.

description

I installed the latest FileZilla Client 3.9.0.1 yesterday, and every time I open a new directory now the screen goes black for a second, and I get a warning that says the Windows driver had recovered from a problem. If I try to do anything even slightly complex, I get the blue screen of death and have to restart (x3 so far today). Hopefully a patch will come through to correct this issue. Sorry, I wish I knew something more specific to tell you, but please email me if I can help.
