Hi

I'm using FZ version 3.10.0.2 on OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 (Screenshot of about page here if needed - ​http://puu.sh/eUSkv/3e8a32fc64.png ). FZ was installed today so as far as I can see this is the most recent official release I can use (and was an auto update).

Details of the issue

• Connect to remote server
• Search using the following details (changing 'custom_template' to the necessary name

As you can see, this correctly displays the list of files and directories containing the keywords. Note the directory is completely empty.

I then select all items, and right click -> download... with the following details and hit OK. I am then left with this structure locally Note the directory has been placed at the root, not in the catalog/view/theme/default/template/ directory

Not sure if it's related, but if I remove the "Filename" rule in the search, it doesn't find the empty directory. That may be intended, but thought it was worth noting. Please correct me if that's not the case

Earlier this week, searching in our FTP folders using the remote search option has stopped returning results when the criteria is file name "contains"

This is happening for our users on Windows as well as for the two of us that use Macs. We've confirmed we have the most recent version 3.25.1 installed

An example search for contains "990_A" is shown here ​https://monosnap.com/file/xzXDYRhRiiQ1D0bnepA65krIukASw1 and I moved the search box to prove that there is a file with that information. I also tried this search with "starts with" and didn't get results, as soon as I changed to "does not contain" then results for files without that are returned...but I really need to find files with specific values in their name

After updating today i have noticed that the remote search box seems to overlap all its options.

Hi, I download a pair of files each day. The name changes based on the date. So I use the search feature/binoculars. Every day, I have to change the remote path handling to 'Flatten remote paths, download all contained files directly into target directory.' because that is my preference. I would like to make that the default. I don't want to have to choose that option each time I go to download files out of the search results. -Mike

Pretty much what I described here: ​http://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=16418 (+tnx to boco for his comment) FEATURE REQUEST: When transmitting a file that already exists, you get the overwrite/skip/etc dialog, with the option "Always use this action", and sub-options "Apply to current queue only" and "Apply only to uploads" (or only to downloads if you're downloading). How about adding another sub-option: "Remember for this tab", which would remember the action for the current tab only (i.e. until I close the tab or entire program). Or perhaps make it "Remember for this tab/server", i.e. it should also forget the action when I connect to a different server within the same tab. This would be REALLY handy when I'm connected to a server, and drag some files in there every few minutes (which happens quite often when I'm incrementally updating a site or server or backing up stuff or whatever). I hope you will consider adding this... It would definitely make my life easier and I'd love FileZilla even more!

I always use "Last Modified" descending in my tabs. When Filezilla restarts I always have to set this up again.

There is no option in "Edit->Settings->Interface->File Lists" It only has "Name Sorting mode", suggest this changes to "Sorting mode" and add at least Date/time and size. Probably ascending/descending option...

It would be really nice if, on reopening a connexion, Filezilla would remember that I had toggled Synchronized Browing and go directly to the last local and distant folders opened.

As the title says, Filezilla could remember the latest RAW commands used. I frequently use SITE MNT / SITE UMNT, and i have to type them both each time i need to mount or unmount a partition in the remote ftp server (actually, i copy them from a text file).

FileZilla Server Interface Not Remembering Column Size After Relaunch. It Is Very Problematic.

I was attempting to use the command line flags to trigger a registration so that the computer user is not prompted to register later and does not have to be directly provided the registration key by the IT department and ran into a little snag.

To reproduce, launch the app like this:

open -a "FileZilla Pro.app" --args --register --regkey=XXXXXXX

The app will open, and the registration will be triggered with the registration key pre-filled. You will receive an error message indicating that you must provide an email address.

This seems to be because the radio dial for the first option (indicating that you are providing a registration key) is not automatically selected when the registration key is prefilled from the 'regkey' flag. Clearing the error message, then selecting this radio dial, then hitting OK will successfully complete the registration.

I have worked around the issue in our environment, but thought the information might be useful.

I purchased the FileZilla Pro by accident and i was thinking that it was containing the server with in it i am sorry i misread. I would like to get the product refunded, thank you all!

In the newest FTP client version (3.45.0), when selecting the Refresh button, all folders in the local site view close, and the view jumps to the top of the directory tree. This never used to occur. This is highly irritating as I have to navigate back to the folder in which I was working and dig back into any subfolders I had open after every single refresh.

Refresh does not work properly in the new release

In the past, keying <F5> to refresh the display after the connection had timed out used to be instant. For the last few versions of FZ, however, it takes at least 30 seconds.

Because the time-out period is so short, refreshing to reconnect so often is becoming very tedious.

Can you make the refresh period instant again, please?

The first time Refresh/F5 is used in a session the Status window shows that the refresh was sent to the server, but then nothing happens. Any subsequent Refresh/F5 does nothing at all. The files and folders are only refreshed on a new connection or reconnection.

I've attached a copy of the Status log up to the point where I started this report. Note line 310 where I clicked the Refresh icon on the Toolbar. When that didn't do anything, I pressed the F5 key, then used the menu to choose View/Refresh. As you can see, Filezilla didn't even acknowledge these additional attempts to refresh.

Before starting this Bug ticked, I searched the Bug reports where I found multiple unresolved tickets starting from 9 years ago about this problem. Is this not important enough to resolve ? I've used numerous FTP clients in the past and every one of them had no problem refreshing during a session.

When user refresh Directory or change files name in Working Directory (Local site), It redirect to root Directory. So users always need to select working directory from Local site history Dropdown.

In testing a webcam's FTP uploads, I have a need to do multiple recursive downloads every few minutes to verify that new image files are successfully getting uploaded. Since my webcam uploads are going into multiple directories by day and hour, it is easiest to do a recursive download from the top level. I am doing this by dragging the root webcam folder from my ftp server to my local directory in FileZilla. The recursive search works successfully the first time, but then subsequent drag/drops of the root folder will not actually re-scan subdirectories, but rather only use locally cached information of the remote directory structure. So I am missing newly created files on the remote server to download since the first time I downloaded in this FileZilla session.

It appears that it will eventually do a forced full re-scan of subdirectories (observations indicate that this could be every 15 minutes or so), but not on every drag/drop. Clicking on the "refresh the file and folder lists" icon only refreshes the top level folder and not any subdirectories.

It would be useful if the Reconnect item (under File) were to indicate choices of sites previously connected to.

Following the recent update Filezilla now drops out after about 10mins even though I'm using to constantly. Any thoughts please?

In Windows 7 (and maybe Vista) they introduced the recently used popup on applications. For example, if you go to Microsoft Word on the start menu, there is a little arrow to the right of it that will popup recently opened or pinned documents.

It would be nice if Filezilla would use this for recently connected to sites.

FileZilla = AWESOME! This is by far the best freebie FTP client out there!

As a new user, the toolbar buttons seem a little less than ideally situated. Plus, the mouseover description only shows in the status bar (at the bottom of the screen), so it's hard to notice down there.

For starters, I would love to see ToolTip style help text, where it would "popup", ala microsoft. Another possibility may be to show the help text to the right of the buttons (there's plenty of room). Yet another option may be to place the buttons at the bottom of the screen (like WSFTP), where they're closer to the status bar...

I'd also love to see them rearranged (or rearrangeable by the end user). My preferred order would be to move the "view options" (show local, show remote, show queue, show messages) to the end of the bar, just before help, so that the connection-related options were all together. Then move the disconnect/reconnect options to the beginning, just after the site-manager button. Here's my complete preferred order:

Could you place a box in each local/remote panes to search in displayed files and folders? Like Firefox search box that searches in folder tree (that are displayed) and highlights matched files in tree

A notification like "Really delete file 'NAME_OF_THE_FILE'?" would be nice, instead of just "Really delete 1 file?". So if you click the wrong file or folder by mistake you could make sure twice before really deleting the file or folder.

scenario: connected to my company network via. vpn (not exactly fast). trying to send a file that resides on company network to a remote ftp server elsewhere in the world (definitely not fast). I currently notice that the predicted time to complete is 10 hours. However, if the same file is local to my client machine the time to send is about 6 hours. The time to simply copy the file to my local pc is less than 2 hours.

This leads me to infer that Filezilla is reading a block from the file and then sending the block, repeated till the send is done (appologies if this is incorrect). If my vpn connection is full duplex it should be possible to service file reads at the same time the ftp send is in progress, thereby saving time in sending files that I can only access over the same network adapter I use for the ftp send. I guess this would mean multithreading the file read and send, but I will leave the design to you geniuses.

When trying to download a file from a server using an account that has no read permission confirming overwrite of local file, results (without warning) in a ZERO byte local file.

When selecting multiple files on a server to edit, when it gives you the option to re-download or open local. There should be an option to apply to the queue, like when overwriting files.

The problem is that the download speeds are random and usually not max.

Here's an example of what I mean: I download a file using filezilla, I notice slow speeds (200KB/s), so I cancel the download. Then I resume and I randomly get normal speeds (4MB/s).

Why are speeds random and how do I get max download speeds all the time?

I'm experiencing a race condition when uploading. Approx. every 300 files, a file that's being uploaded already exists, and I'm prompted what to do. Typically the file has 0 bytes, sometimes it has <100% size. These files are from previously failed attempts in the same queue - NB that the target directory was empty before.

I'd expect FileZilla to retry failed uploads non-interactively. I'm using 8 concurrent transfers, and the remote server is "flaky" in that it likes to terminate connections randomly every once in a while.

So here's my hypothesis:

1) Thread A uploads file foo, is kicked off the server before upload completes. This leaves the file in the transfer queue (does it?). 2) Thread B finds foo in the transfer queue, tries to upload, and finds the incomplete file created by thread A in 1).

If this is true, the solution might be to do the collision handling cross-threads, i.e. B should know that A just failed to upload foo, and retry non-interactively.

I'm happy to set up a test account on this flaky server. The race is pretty easy to trigger by uploading, say, WordPress (maybe 2 or 3 times).

Also, and I assume this is related, there are files in the "Failed transfers" list. Shouldn't those be retried? (Should I open a new bug for the latter issue, in case it's not related? Or is it even a bug?)

After a recent update (in OpenSUSE), this error message shows up every time I start FileZilla.

There are at least two issues here: the one that causes the error, and the fact that the error message doesn't give enough information. What file? Where?

a little function to indicate the allowed size on the server (quota). The actual size of files and the maximum size. it's great when we upload big file, and we have no more place !

When searching for Path does not contain and matching all for the search conditions. FillZilla stills walks the subdirectories even thought the top most directory already evaluates to false. This create a huge delay since the those directories have numerous sub directories and files.

Because I've tried to connnect to my ftp server using the wrong password, I now have three identical entries in my Quickconnect list, all with the same server/username, but different passwords. Hence only one which will work, and I have to remember which one.

Keep up the excellent work - lovely piece of software!

Steps:

1.Have ​https://sourceforge.net/ account

2.Go to Site Manager --> New site --> add Protocol:SFTP, Host:web.sourceforge.net, User and Password. Set also default local and remote directories (for remote it must be a project of our own, like /home/frs/project/my_project. Save with OK

3.If you go to Site Manager --> Connect, it connects perfectly and loads on the two panels local and remote directories.

4.If you connect from Quickconnect --> down arrow --> select ​sftp://user@web.sourceforge.net it logs it but doesn't auto load local and remote directories.

I'm not sure if this is intended purpose, but I guess it isn't.

It would be nice if the QuickConnect button would copy the information it uses into the Host/Username/Port boxes.

That way if, for eg, my password changes, or I want to use the same credentials for a new host, I don't need to retype them all - only the bits that are different.

When I develop websites, I usually separate CSS, Javascript and (X)HTML/PHP into different files, located in different folders. Some of the included PHP source files are outside the wwwroot for improved security.

Typical situation (simplified): wwwroot/index.php wwwroot/js/site.js wwwroot/js/other.js wwwroot/css/site.js

some/other/path/includes/functions.php some/other/path/includes/template.php

Very frequently, I'm editing both the .js, .css and maybe the template.php files at the same time - as they are very related to each other. I would make some changes in several of the files mentioned and then upload them to the server, checking the results in a browser, make some adjustments (to several files) and uploading again.

Since the files are not in the same directory, I have to change directory two or three times every time I need to upload the files. The relatively new feature of synchronized browsing took away half of the work, since I only need to change directory on the local machine and the client automatically changes the remote.

I've tried bookmarks, they helped a little, but what I really would like to see is this:

A function that works just like the transfer queue (when you drag files onto it rather than dragging then to the remote site) - the files are queued, but not yet transfered. All the queued files are transferred (from several folders, into their respective remote folder) when you press the "Send queue"-button. But when this is done, they are removed from the transfer queue.

It would work if you add a button that simply "resend last queue". An even better thing would be the possibility of adding several "macro"-buttons with pre-configured files to send. For example; you could make a "Send the index.php, main.js and main.css"-button and ad this button to the toolbar or the bookmark menu.

Being able to disable any current speed limits with a simple button on the main screen would be very handy! Functionality is obvious but it would be something like a button on the right of the 'Lock Server' button which when enabled would cause all upload & download speed limits to be ignored so everything would go full speed.

My personal reasons for wanting this are because I run an ftp server from home and only allow full speed at night so it doesn't effect my internet speeds during the day. It would be great to be able to allow full speeds easily at times I'm going out, etc.

Obviously there would be many more uses for a feature like this other than my unimportant example!

However, if I retype the Host, Username and Password, files are transferred without any problems.

I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, with the latest 64 bit version 3.48.1, but the error is the same.

Any advice would be appreciated.

As per the summary, the quick connect bar only is displayed in full screen mode. In normal screen mode the upper part of the winder is white. The first are that is displayed is Local site:

I want to point out some things that are not quite right:

1. the quick connect history should not record an entry when password or username are wrong (as is the case for virtually all my failed connects) - there is no need to store a record of a mis-typed password.

2. it should also arrange its entries by most used rather than chronologically, or at least have that option available

3. it should also list more than ten previous connections

when I work, on many sites, sometimes concurrently, but often delving back into old projects for updates, the lack of a good history of connects can be awkward in a program I use every day. I would love for the connection process to be simplified :-)

Changing attributes on and deleting many (1000+) files takes quite some time, and seem to be limited to one connection.

Would it be possible for these requests to be queued or at least respect the maximum simultaneous transfers setting?

Also, whilst performing these actions, it is not possible to browse/perform other actions on the remote site.

• I want to be able to automatically disconnect (and not

reconnect) when my queue is complete. How is this done?

• Also, I tried to queue up a shortcut to a folder hoping

it would queue up the folder contents but nothing queued up at all. Is there a way of doing this? I have no problems with queuing up normal folders.

If you shutdown politely (or the system shuts down), the app DOES remember what was in the transfer queue. Unfortunately, it does not resume (reget) the transfers, it restarts them from scratch.

This seems like a bug, but I suppose it could be a feature request.

More specifically, if I shutdown & restart the app, and begin processing the transfer queue, I would like transfers to continue so it does not take many many hours to recover back to where you were.

When I import XML to generate a transfer queue, and the files in the XML have relative paths for the remote file I get some strange behaviour depending on which settings are used.

Let’s say I have 2 files to be processed, folder1/file1.txt and folder2/file2.txt => Note the 2 file paths are relative paths, not absolute

If I have set up a maximum of 1 simultaneous transfers *

• The first file is uploaded to /{home directory}/folder1/file1.txt
• When that completes, the second file starts and because it is relative path adds to the current path, so it gets uploaded to /{home directory}/folder1/folder2/file1.txt

I presume this is because FileZilla reuses the connection, and so after the transfer the current folder is folder1, not the home directory. The second one then just adds to it.

If I have the queue set up to more than 2 or more simultaneous transfers Then this time, because 2 connections are made, they both get changed relative to the home directory and so I get the files placed here:-

• The first file to /{home directory}/folder1/file1.txt
• The second file to /{home directory}/folder2/file2.txt

Depending on the number of threads I have to upload I get totally different results! Another reason I am pretty certain it is a bug is that because if the XML file used puts all the files in the same batch folder, then regardless of the using 1 or multiple threads, they always go in the same folder! So similar example, there are 2 files samefolder/test1.txt and samefolder/test2.txt. When this runs with either 1 or >=2 threads the files are uploaded to:-

• The first file to /{home directory}/samefolder/file1.txt
• The second file to /{home directory}/ samefolder /file2.txt

That goes totally different to what you expect after my test above

* The number of connections does not actually have to be 1, it just has to be less than the total number of files being uploaded. So if I have 5 files going to 5 different folders, I would get the bug happening if I used 1, 2, 3, or 4 connections. If I used 4 connections however, then 4 of the files would upload properly and only the 5th file which reused an older connection puts the folder in the wrong place.

When transferring at least two files in parallel from the filezilla client to an SFTP-server and I enable speed limits by using the right-click menu at the bottom right, the queued files list freezes. During that time all transfer bars and speed indicators are frozen and do not update most of the time. For short periods of time the indicators may unfreeze for a few seconds until they freeze again. If speed limits are disabled then the queued list is unfrozen.

I would love to see a improvement to the queued file listing which is that instead of just having a flat list of files it would have the files in a collapsible tree view similar to the local/server browser panels. This would be really helpful in cases where we have say ten of folders queued with hundreds of files in them and we want to remove one or more of these folders(and files/folders contained within) from the queue. The other day I had to select all the 200+ files part of a single folder which I wanted to remove from the queue.With this view I would just select the topmost folder and delete that.

As a possible addition the folder row could show a progress bar for the average upload progress of the files/folder under it too.

I have set up Filezilla to ask me if a file in the queue has the same name as a file already on the server (overwrite, overwrite if newer, etc.). Filezilla suspends the whole queue until I answer. For example, say I want to upload 100 files and there is a query about the 11th file in the queue. Until I answer, files 12 – 100 are not uploaded.

Wanted behaviour: Filezilla should continue to transfer the rest of the files in the background while waiting for my answer. Upload of files 12 – 100 shouldn't depend on the answer about file 11. If Filezilla encounters a second question later in the queue, it can simply ask a new instance of the question.

Would you please provide an internal tool that can save and edit transfer queue including paths, accounts etc?

I've been trying to upload to and download from 2 different servers on the latest version of FileZilla. While the uploading process seems to be working properly, there have been issues when I have tried to close FileZilla.

When I'm uploading/downloading from a single server, I just have to stop the processing of files and close the program. The files will be in the queue the next time I open the program.

With the multiple servers, if I try the same process, after I try to close FileZilla, I get a message telling me that all or part of my queue has been lost. When I open the program again, there will be nothing in the queue. It is rather frustrating to have to re-queue the files that didn't upload.

Just updated to 3.25.2 and attempted to backup my web site. Normally I connect to the site, select all files and drag them to the directory I created for the backup. Your software normally queues the files while transferring files. After this update it halts for a bit part way through the transfer and seems locked. Left it locked the first time for about 45 minutes with no activity. Mac OS force quit doesn't show the software as unresponsive but it seems to be dead. The first time it locked up after queuing 14,000+ files, having transferred 4,000+. Second attempt was less before it locked up and third attempt was even less. I downloaded the previous version and have completed a backup using the same methods as before. Believe 3.25.2 has an issue with the queue.

When Drag&Drop an directory or more to upload/donwload, don't get all file first in all directories. This often stops when an FTP Error during Get File List occured. So just read the directory content when the specified directory is next in queue.

The queue bar (Queued files, Failed transfers, Successful transfers) is still displayed in a "light-ish" way when using a dark theme. But it is darker then the default light theme, so that the black font is hard to read.

Filezilla forget the download/failed/succesfull Queue after closed the client

It should be viewable after close / restart.

Many times a specific file or specific files, whose names do not change over time, need to be uploaded for publishing.

Like in the Seamonkey Suite, which has a pusblish button for uploading the whole page that one is editing in one go, it would be fine if there is one or more publish/Quicktransfer buttons for uploading one's favourite file(s).

Now, one has to manoevre each time through all directories to locate the files. Synchronized browsing and bookmarking helps, but then still scrolling and locating is necessary.

This/these Publish/Quicktransfer button/buttons could be located for instance to the right of the the Quickconnect Bar.

(A) corresponding shortcut key(s) could be assigned to the button(s).

If such a button/these buttons work for one favourite file, such a button could be extended to work for a list of files, for which each time extensive browsing is required.

It would then look like the Publish Button of the Seamonkey Suite, which unfortunately only handles ftp, not sftp or ftps, so if FileZilla is going to do this it would be great!

I've got a public key file (ppk)in a folder which has my name on it, namely: C:\Users\André\PPKs\AmazonEC2.ppk

This doesn't work. The same directory and file works for putty.

I copied the very file to C:\, meaning: C:\AmazonEC2.ppk

It worked fine.

It seems like Filezilla doesn't like non-ANSI characters in folder paths for public keys. At least on Windows.

In your newest version of FileZilla Client (3.3.5.1) and also in the previous version (3.3.4.1) there is this bug. But in version 3.3.3 it works.

The problem appears when i try to import FTP-servers and proxy-settings by using the import function under the drop-down-menu „File“. The import of the FTP-Servers works great but the imported Proxy-Settings get lost after restarting FileZilla. The problem is on the following settings; the “FTP Proxy” and also the “Generic proxy”.

Some experiments have shown that the new settings won’t be stored in the filezilla.xml (%appdata%\FileZilla\filezilla.xml). By typing in the Proxy Settings manually it will work, but not by importing the settings via the import-feature.

I have discovered and tested this problem with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 once on a Intel core 2 duo and once on a virtual machine on my PC via WMware Player and a third time I tested it in a virtual machine inside of an ESX-Server always with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 -> every time the same problem.

I hope you can fix the problem.

There are many times when I'm servicing a FTP site when all of my download slots are transferring and I want to edit a site file. I right click on the file and the file is added to the end of what might be a long queue.

A useful feature would be to be able to reserve a download & upload slot for using View/Edit file.

It would be very very beneficial if an option is provided, that simply renames the existing file with a timestamp.

e.g. When I upload a file named index.php to a server and if the FileZilla finds index.php already existing on the server it should rename the existing version to index<timestamp>.php and copy the new one from local source. This would be a great versioning feature and will help many programmers.

It would be extremely convenient to find FileZilla in Windows Store so that installing & updating could be done directly via the Store. I'd even pay some $ for it!

This has now happened several times on W10. I open FileZilla Pro, and it prompts me to install a new version. When I do, it fails, saying it can't write the .exe - I suspect it's trying to update, and not closing the executing program.

I have to uninstall the old version and reinstall, and it's then necessary to re-enter the registration key.

Program installs. Shortcut pinned to icon menu. But when I click shortcut, it does not display.I see it as a small window above the icon but it does not display large on th screen.

The program works fine on my main computer and on my work computer. But on this second computer at my home I have these problems.

All three computers are running Windows 7 64-bit. The two computers that work are Intel i7 processors. The one that does not is a dual-core AMD processor.

I was connected to an AWS Linux server and tried typing in the number '100' manually for permissions. It twice hard crashed the program. This isn't a valid entry and it seems to cause an unhandled exception.

Seems the process queue is not preserved incase of a outage or windows blue screen.

seems to work if click close and say OK to the confirm box where it pauses queue and disconnects from server

so when you enter filezilla you can right click and say process queue again and it resumes from where left off

In the Site Manager I used to be able to right click on "My Sites" and an "Export" link would appear ... which would allow me to save my FileZilla xml file under a different name.

Usually I do this with a date added to sites.xml in order to backup versions of my file.

But, now ... that doesn't work anymore. I rename the file .. but the new file never saves to my hard drive.

When uploading files via FileZilla client to Playstation via local network(Wifi), there are dropped connections. When you select the resumption function, start's new uploading but not resumption. The file size does not affect the situation. There is no such problem in the FlashFXP(5.4.0 build 3970) client. Everything is dresumption normaly.

When you use "fast connection", and the username is 'anonymous' (but you're not using an anonymous access), when you enter a password, the same password is changed and the client cannot connect.

Example: address: 10.20.30.40 username: anonymous password: hightower <-- this is changed to the default one when you try to connect

I've noticed a problem while downloading a PHP file associated with Wordpress when using ASCII mode.

When downloading a file, part of it get garbled and makes the file unreadable.

Forcing binary mode solves the problem.

I'm attaching the file downloaded in the binary mode and in ASCII mode for comparison.

I'm downloading the file from a Linux server using a Windows FileZilla Client version 3.42.1.

You need to go to the 5749 line of the file formatting_ASCII_download.txt and scroll to column 15741 to see exactly what is happening.

I'm attaching formatting_binary_download.txt which is a correctly downloaded version of the file for comparison.

The mentioned files can be found in any WordPress installation in the directory: wp-includes/formatting.php

I'm using Notepad++ to verify the downloaded file.

Problem: On Unix FTP-Server you have a file called "Team.htm" and a file called "team.htm"

If you copy file "Team.htm" everything is ok. File will be listed local. If you then copy file "team.htm" and press cancel in the overwrite dialog to abort, the operation will abort BUT in the list of the local files the entry "team.htm" will appear.

After I disconnect the second monitor, I can't no longer access the bounder of the program so I can not resize the window. That let's me in an incapacity of acceding my configured connection. I can't no longer use filezilla.

Hi, we are connecting to multiple servers using FileZilla but are unable to connect to a server that is requiring both key+password. The only option in FileZilla for establish the connection, is to use the "interactive" mode which works fine. However, we would like to use FileZilla for all our FTP work so please add this combination also. Now we have to use WinSCP for this work and that program is... well... it has a less look and feel, lets stick with that.

In the site manager, when adding a sftp site with Logon Type = Key file, the file selector for the private key does not show files without extensions. The linux ssh-keygen utility creates private keys without extension by default (id_rsa).

We have a specific site that has successfully used a private key with a passphrase for over 2 years. With 3.46.1, when I try to connect to the site, it no longer asks for the keyphrase, which has always been required, and subsequently the connection fails authentication.

During investigation, I also received errors when look at the site config. The errors related to the private key file. Unfortunately I did not do a screen capture of the error as I needed to access the site asap.

I reverted back to 3.46.0 and immediately everything went back to normal. When connecting to the site the key passphrase was prompted for and once entered I was able to connect to the site with no issue.

As we use this site weekly, I will not be able to update until this bug is fixed.

Filezilla is already one of the best ftp programs avalible, muchless for free. There are three features that i can think of that would make this stand out above the rest.

FXP Support. Cute FTP 6.0 Pro supports this, but the interface on it, is very cludged. Looks like it was added as an after thought, and it unpleasent to use. If you were to make the local site be able to switch between either the local machine, or another remote site for fxp, that would take care of the UI problems.

Filter lists, and Priority lists are also important. What good is uploading a 20 file list, with an sfv(or any other md5/crc32 checking), if you cant make sure its there. Being able to force files up first would be a large boon.

Filter lists would also be nice. not nearly as important as the others, in my opinion, but very nice.

If a queue is in progress and I change priority or the sorting (local file, remote file, size), then those changes are ignored. In order for it to be respected, I have to stop the queue, sort or update priorities, then start again.

Another related issue, ignoring priority here (let's assume all set to the same priority), newer files added to the queue while it's in progress get selected next after a current file has finished, instead of going to the next one in line. (ie, not doing "first come, first served.")

The priority was said to be fixed based on #11932, but it appears it hasn't. The mention of the sorting is just an added "bonus" I have noticed.

I verified I am using the latest version (3.49.1) before starting this ticket.

I would like to see an option/filter where you can set in which order files should be transferred in. All files are transferred according to the priority list and if the file/files doesn't match it get transferred after the original file order.

Really hope that this will be added in a near future since it will make this good ftp client a lot better

Just one thing i always pop up when i use priority management. All files, with different priorities, keep in the same list. If you have a queue of hundreds/thousends of files it is a middle nightmare to re-assign some priorities of files.

And here is my pretty simple solution to make this all a whole lot better.

Is there a way to see if we have an existing account to access our autobackup files? The instance is northernonline.onu.edu and the past two potential users were Sharyn Zembower or Chandra Dunbar.

Not every time, but most times when I open a file for edit, after saving it, when the confirmation dialog pops up, FileZilla is gaining focus and brings the window to front. It's annoying because I often hit the save shortcut very often, even before I finish doing the changes.

The behaviour I'm expecting is just to see the bouncing icon in dock, without making FileZilla the foremost application.

In windows (I'm using windows 10 but it's the same on all versions) the folder modification date is changed every time something inside is changed.

When using the "compare" tool FileZilla marks the remote and local folders as different, even though there are exactly the same files inside with nothing to change.

Would it be possible to put in an option so that FileZilla ignores the last modification dates of the folders? Obviously if a folder was not present on remote or local it should continue to highlight it in yellow as it does now.

Back then when using the Site Manager, you can focus on the server list, type a few letters and even spaces and it can select the element with the same name and NOT automatically login.

Now as of 3.24.0, upon pressing spacebar. It logs in the currently selected item, the previous way of pressing Enter to login is better. Please revert to the previous one.

When I press Command-S after I start FileZilla and get the site manager the first site is highlighted. It would be nice to be able to connect to that site with [Enter]. I personally only connect to one site but I imagine other people might want to be able to select between sites with the up-down cursors then connect with enter.

The funny thing is that this I remember being able to connect with enter in previous versions of filezilla.

All of the options exposed in the transfer menu (speed limit, action if file exists, transfer type) are present in the program settings too. However the "preserve timestamps" is only in the menu, making it harder to find.

I think the option should also be present in the settings.

I find that when I upload a file to any server the Preserve timestamps of transfer file do not work in ver 3.5. When I test using other ftp program to the same site it is ok. please check

I am working under Windows Vista with filezilla client 3.7.0.2

I am extensively using the "Folder compare" feature of filezilla client and I am using the option to preserve timestamps when uploading files.

After uploading a file on the box, filezilla client still says that the files are not the same. The timestamp of file copied is the current timestamps only for files with eml extension.

I am connected to a remote linux box throught its sftp server

I've rename the file with txt extension and now it's good !!!

This would make it easier to be able to keep track of what files are being edited when similar files are open at the same time.

I'm using FileZilla v3.2.6.1

It would be nice, in addition to the "Watch Locally Edited Files for Modification And Prompt..." to have an "Upload Automatically" option. This would be a life saver for tedious 'remote' edits and testing.

Side note: i'm a longtime FileZilla fan, used on PC forever, after switching over to OS-X from Windows, I had a brief affair with CuteFTP, but then came back when the OS-X port of FileZilla became available.

I have been trying to upload a gigantic directory of 98,000 pdf files, about 150gb worth. I don't expect filezilla to play nice with queues of this size. However I am in the process of double checking that all the files made it and when I select a chunk of about 10,000 files and then choose "overwrite if file sizes are different" it seems to error out everytime. It starts to run through the queue then after a few seconds it errors out with the Microsoft send a bug report message. When I try the same chunk of files and I choose "skip" files that are the same it runs ok.

Hi, it will be awesome, if you provide any possibility to be able to edit the temporary file structure (the temp. file directory is /tmp/fz3temp-1 for linux)

For example you can provide some keys like;

%remotehost% %remotedir% %filename%

and a possibility for the users to configure the temporary file directory like;

tempdirectory = /home/myname/ftpcache/%remotehost%/%remotedir%/%filename%

All the keys and configs are fictional. I have no idea about FileZilla's config. structure etc. Bu I think my point is clear...

With this possibility I will never need to use another FTP client and/or FTP plugin (the same functionality is provided by Notepad++ with FTP Synchronize plugin installed)

There could be possibility to delete one item from history, not only clear the whole history.

This could be done e.g. from menu, which would open with right mouse button. Now also right mouse button opens FTP/SFTP connection.
