On version 3.5 the conenctivity to our MOVEit DMZ server with Filezilla was fine. Now after 3.5.1 and 3.5.3 we get a problem, if i copy a folder from MOVEit to my PC then delelte it from the MOVEit Server filezilla errors. I have a work around which I must enable keep alives and reduce the maximum simultaneous connections to 1.

The filetype associations are not keeping their settings in Filezilla 3.48.0 on macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

I am noticing extra characters being placed on one or more entries, making it not possible to right click on a file and use the "view/edit" option.

Also, if I want to highlight an entry and use Command-C and Command-V to quickly add more entries, this is buggy. The entire window closes when trying to do this.

I am not able to connect to any of my accounts but I can connect with IE and anything else I use. It just started this evening

I uploaded modified files from Local to Remote Site/Website as before but this time the changes do not appear in my Website on the Internet.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the Settings Dialog
2. Select the File Editing/Filetype Associations settings page
3. See that the default/first Filetype Association is listed as

It seems quoting a command is not being properly validated when the command filepath contains a space.

FileZilla does not follow Windows filetype associations when "Open"ing files.

Reproduce: Open any .avi, .mkv or .mp4 file. Expected: Open file with Media Player Classic, set as default app. Actually: All media files open with Windows Media Player.

The thousands separator in filesizes when selected "Display size in bytes" does not work.

Filesize and Filetype column names should be Size and Type because Filesize and Filetype are not words in English and files are the only subject.

Files with lengthy file names are not getting downloaded and shows the error in failed transfers

The only solution found is to rename the file and resume the download.

Is there any way to overcome the issue

How to reproduce:

Create two files with different content on your ftp server: /path/to/file/file.php /path/to/file/File.php

(Notice that the files have identical names except for the letter case.)

Right click file.php and choose edit. Your editor opens the file. So far so good. Right click File.php and again choose edit.

A dialog opens saying: "File Changed. The file '/private/var/folders/zz/y5zdkqw11yv2btyvl9y6r3tr000gn/T/fz3temp-1/file.php' has been changed on the file system. Do you want to replace the editor contents with these changes?"

Expected behavior: The file "File.php" is opened in the editor.

If you look in the temp folder, a file with correct letter case is saved. But when FileZilla reads from the temp folder, it doesn't distinguish the files. This can lead to overwriting the contents of the other file.

Upload of files produces zero file size on server. A renamed file on the server produced zero file size upon save. After "Checking for Updates" and uninstall/reinstall, able to upload file as created; however, if server file is deleted and same file is uploaded again, zero file size is result again. Repeated uploads does not resolve. Deleting file from server first and then uploading file does not resolve. Does not happen with just this same file. Closing program and restarting does not resolve. Disconnect/reconnect does not resolve. Only uninstall/reinstall resolve it for one time upload thereafter. Filezilla vers 3.5.1

New or changed files are randomly not being uploaded when inside folders and dragged over server.

If you load a folder in FileZilla, modify the file on the server (adding bytes is where I encountered it), and then download the file, the size of the file in the download queue uses the cached file size.

For example, I recently did this:

• Started downloading an ISO onto my server via wget
• Loaded the folder the file was being downloaded to in FileZilla to wait.
• When the file was done transferring to my server, I initiated the transfer from server to my computer.

The size of the download in my queue was ~1.0gb while the actual file size is over 2.0gb. Therefore the progress is reported as 100% at 1.0gb while there is still at least 1.0gb more to go.

Just an annoying issue with what I assume to be the cached information on the file from when I initially loaded the folder.

When you uses this : 1- upload a new version of a file with a different name. 2- after upload : rename the file and give the name of the file which is to be replaced

Before, with previous version, you get : 1- A panel to confirm (existing file with same name : replace) 2- Replacement 3- (in previous-previous) the position into the list was not changing

Now, new ( 3.32.0) you get : 1- A panel to confirm (existing file with same name : replace) 2- Both files are deleted, this most of time (there are conditions which produce the normal - old - behavior, but I could not find exactly the conditions. Note :

• that when this occurs we have two refreshes (since-prev-prev : I have not the version id) of screen while before we were getting this refresh just once.
• with the "just before version" the refresh was not clean because we had, as told, two displays and at the end the user was reaching the top of the list and had to go back manually to the position of the file changed to verify.
• now when it functions normally the file is replaced and focus stays on the file (generally for the two files : I name the new updated with a name so that it will be displayed just before the file to replace into the list). I think that the second display corresponds to the "delete all" invalid phase.

I have multiple server connections and different servers. Any one I connect to, since I updated filezilla, I get an error - All transfers complete, files could not transfer. So I can't upload anywhere. I need help. Thanks.

It would be even more handy to have the files being edited shown in another tab, instead of a dialog. The space is already used by that tab bar, might as well fill it.

I am using VS Code and Live Sass Compiler. When I save the .scss file, It creates .css and .min.css files in temp folder on system but not uploading to live server. It was working fine on Last Friday in old version. Today I have downloaded the latest version facing this issue.

We are using Filezilla from many years now, but from last few days files are getting minified after uploading through Filezilla version 3.46.0. We think it is happening from last two versions. Please send us a solution. It is to hectic to normalise the minified files one by one as it takes to much time. We checked with other FTP clients and different server, but its seems to be happening with Filezilla only. Also, it seems to be problem with Windows software only, we checked in software for Mac OSX, it is working properly. Eagerly waiting for your reply.

When uploading from a client that supports a : in the filename, the FileZilla will accept the file for download, but will store anything after the : as an alternate data stream.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a feature.

It might be good to include a configuration toggle to disable this behaviour (i.e. send an invalid filename message to the sender) by default, as I found it very surprising.

Test case:

From a BSD, Mac or Linux box, create a file named "a:b". Upload the file. The server will show a 0 byte file named a, with an alternate data stream b with all of the content.

A nice improvement to the Filename Filters feature would be to add another option/condition to the rules: "Skip items matching ...".

This feature would not hide the files matching those rules, but only highlight them in a different color (gray) or font style (line-through).

This feature would actually match the "Skip list" feature from FlashFXP.

The computer is running Windows 8.1 Pro (Chinese Traditional) FileZilla version 3.45.1 When File\Export is selected, the Export settings sub-window pops up, but it and FileZilla close quickly before any check boxes can be selected. The application must then be re-started.

Computer is kind of old, but hope this isn't relevant: IBM T60p Core 2 Duo T9500 with 8 GB RAM. If it matters, display is a 4:3.

If Filezilla is left running on the 2nd monitor in a dual monitor arrangement, then RDP is used to access the desktop from a remote computer which has only a single monitor, the Filezilla instance doesn't relocate itself to the 1st monitor, and is inaccessible because it's invisible. The work-around is to kill it from the task bar and restart it, and it then locates itself on monitor 1.

Hello, i'm trying to connect to my server to add things in and change it around. It works on and off. i've tried reinstalling multiple times and wont work. Looks to be saying "Failed to retrieve directory listing"

FileZilla is very slow ~5MB/s, ~90seconds when using sftp to upload a file to my local SSH file server only, while a Linux command-line "sftp" tool is much faster:

When adding a server to the Site Manager, the "Advanced" tab allows setting a "Server Type" of "Default (Autodetect)".

I simply assume that this Server Type is used as well when using the Quick Connection Bar.

My suggestion is to shoe the selected/automatically detected Server Type in the message panel, so that it is part of the message log.

I used to be able to connect to my FileZilla FTP server - now the connection simply times out without giving any error.

I can connect to the FTP server locally using a local IP, but not from remote.

In the past it used to accept/reject IP's not whitelisted etc and showed the folder list, but suddenly it stopped working - not sure if it is due to a Windows update or not.

I stopped and started the FileZilla Server FTP service.

I checked all firewall rules and they are OK.

I can ping the public IP.

using version 1.7.3 of Filla server the welcome message includes information that is not included in the configuration. the excess information is the version and weblink to filezilla. this should not be published as it poses a security risk and allows the outside world to know about the server. After upgrading to FileZilla 3.6.0, I allowed the installer to launch FileZilla.

This is on Win7 Pro x64, where I had right-clicked on the FileZilla installer, and selected "run as administrator".

However, it looks like the instance of FileZilla, as launched by the installer, will then also run with elevated privileges!

I noticed this when I used FileZilla to connect to a previously saved site, and FileZilla couldn't see a mapped drive letter (my logon session can see the shared drive, but anything running under elevated privileges can't see mapped drives).

This is a concern, because it means the instance of FileZilla launched by the installer has admin privs, instead of being reduced to normal user privs, as it would be when I launch it as myself.

Since Thursday, February 22 we have been trying to connect to our Quickconnect Server to send our billings to Change Healthcare. The server is timing out and not connecting.

Everytime I rename my connected sites, once I close the FileZilla app and re-open it, it keeps showing New Site, New Site 2, New Site 3, etc.

I installed Filezilla on a USB drive so I could carry it with me and use on a public computer.

Works great !!!

Problem is server definitions are apparently not saved in installation directory on USB drive, since when I went to a different public computer, my site management server definitions were gone, and I had to create them all over again.

Need to retain these server definitions in the installation directory one id running the program from.

Since versions 3.22.0, 3.22.1 and 3.22.2.1 the program crashes a few seconds after the program opens. I've tried uninstalling the program completely and reinstalling, restart the computer, clean the windows registry and still the problem persists. If you use any version prior to 3.22.0 the program works normally. If I run the program in administrator mode the program works.

Regret I have done something to my FileZilla and although I can open the Plugin's I am no longer able to open the .config to view my plug in's Is it possible you can see what I have done to mess it up.

Could have sworn this worked in older versions of FileZilla, but it does not work now:

Installing Visual Studio Code and setting the following file association in FileZilla -> edit -> Settings -> File Editing -> Filetype associations: php "C:\Program Files\Microsoft VS Code\Code.exe" --add "%f"

then trying to edit a .php file from FileZilla with right-clicking on a PHP file and clicking "View/Edit"

will result in... nothing. VSCode is not started. (as far as i can see, FileZilla does not attempt to start code.exe at all)

Pretty sure this worked in older versions of FileZilla.

Hello! When I start FileZilla I became the Message that a new version is arrived from FileZilla! When I download and installed the new Filezilla I became all three seconds another Message that the Installation go wrong! Than i install the old Version! This is similar to the closed ("worksforme") ticket for Windows 10 (​https://trac.filezilla-project.org/ticket/9675 ), but I'm on MacOS Sierra 10.12.5.

In my System Preferences, I have the default language as "English (Canada)", and I have the default short date format set to YYYY-MM-DD, i.e. ISO 8601. This is also the short date format that comes up by default when selecting English (Canada).

My FileZilla Date/time format settings are set to "Use system defaults for current language", which I presume would be the YYYY-MM-DD that the system defines as the default for my localization.

FileZilla instead uses the DD/MM/YYYY date format that is 'traditional' in Canada. I have no idea where it's getting this from. Maybe its own internal database of date formats?

The fact that the FileZilla setting defaults to "Use system defaults for current language" suggests a technicality that DD/MM/YYYY is a default format for "English (Canada)", which is the localization selected in my system, even though my system's interpretation of the default date format for this localization to be different from FileZilla's.

Workaround: Select ISO 8601 from the FileZilla Date/time format settings.

On my Mac I noticed that when uploading files with german umlauts in their names to Linux or Windows servers, those filenames are not recognized the same as already existing ones with that same name. I end up having them duplicated, two files with seemlingsly the same name and a lot of encoding problems and troubles.

Cause of this seems to be that Mac filesystems save all unicode characters in decomposed state, while Windows and Linux use composed ones. FileZilla for Mac should abstract this by normalizing all unicode filenames to composed version on upload. The mac filesystem on the other hand does automatically decompose characters, so that shouldn't be a problem.

When renaming a file with hitting the enter key after changing name, the program crashes. If you click your mouse away from file being renamed, it successfully renames the file.

FileZilla crashes when changing file permissions via decimal / keyboard input

I've been using FileZilla as an alternative way to transfer my files through my 2.5-10G network, usually between a Mac and a Mac. I have a 50TB QNAP NAS that I use for storage sometimes, and I needed to move about a terabyte of video files over to my 100TB RAID, and I tried to use filezilla for this, however the instant I let the mouse button go from dragging the folder over to its destination, filezilla closes instantly, and later pops up this error: ​https://pastebin.com/5zgB7L7A

Action after queue completion also works for when editing files. That means FileZilla closes when selecting files in FTP to edit.

How to reproduce the bug?

1. Open FileZilla client and login to a FTP server.
2. Download some files.
3. Selection the option 'Close FileZilla' under After queue completion option.
4. When all the files are downloaded the FileZilla will close automatically.

5. Now open the FileZilla client again.
6. This time select some php or txt files to edit.
7. Now the FileZilla client will close automatically, because the already selected Close FileZilla still in effect.

Bug! The auto close FileZilla option should only work for uploads and downloads, not when editing files.

Sometimes FileZilla will - on repeated connections - fail to issue the PASV and LIST -a commands despite geting a "226 Transfer complete." after a LIST command.

This happens on the same server, same remote directory, same conditions as when it works, but when this happens, it almost always continues, each time I abort session and reconnect, or when I restart FileZilla. I have had to reboot the computer, which solved the issue on several occasions. Only once did it work again without a reboot, after 3-5 times reopening and re-trying with FileZilla, then taking a break, before trying again.

It appears to be the client not responding to the LIST command response, as normally the client should issue PASV in response to "226 Transfer complete."

FileZilla is not high-DPI aware on Windows 7 or Vista. This means that if you set your PC's display resolution to the maximum supported, and compensate for the resulting small default GUI font by increasing the DPI setting, FileZilla's text is blurred because it is raster scaled. This is explained in the following tutorial:

To reproduce on Windows 7:

1. Right click the desktop and choose Screen Resolution.
2. Make sure that it is set to its recommended value.
3. From Control Panel, choose Display.
4. Under "Make it easier to read what's on your screen", select "Larger - 150%".
5. Click Apply.
6. Log off and log on again.
7. Start FileZilla and observe that the text on its UI is blurred.

The solution may be as simple as linking in the attached manifest file and testing that all text still fits in objects such as buttons, so I hope you'll try it. It'll help those of us getting presbyopia to put off the day when we need spectacles to read the screen!

This started happening over 6-12 months ago. I assumed the complaints would be so rampant that it would be fixed immediately ... I was wrong. REPRO: (1) Initiate a very large file upload. (2) Change local site location in preparation for another upload. (3) BUG: Client freezes for over a minute. There are many other scenarios, but this is the easiest to replicate. FZ client is running on Windows 10. FZ client version is 3.46.0 (but, again, this has been broken for a LONG TIME).

Newly we have the problem that we cannot connect to one of our FTP servers anymore. In the FileZilla log we get the following error lines:

After having some mailing with the data center admin we found that adding the line...

TLSOptions NoSessionReuseRequired

...to our FTP server system solved the problem and we were able again to connect to this server.

We tried several other FTP clients (SmartFTP, WinSCP) and none of them had this problem with this FTP server, only FileZilla. Additionally we tested FileZilla client on about five other Windows systems - on every system the same problem occurs.

Now we think it should be possible to connect with FileZilla without having to disable this security feature (TLSOptions NoSessionReuseRequired) in the FTP server system.

Because you can't create a single ticket for both FileZilla client and server, I have created a duplicate one for each.

Both FileZilla client & server can't handle long path names. They are programmed to use the MAX_PATH constant when dealing with files, which only allows a full path/filename of up to 260 characters. This is only a limitation of FAT32 and doesn't exist on NTFS. This results in errors making it impossible to transfer files whose path names are too long.

For NTFS, there are ways of working around this limitation, allowing for path names of 32,768 characters (specified by GetVolumeInformation (lpMaximumComponentLength)). Utilizing UNC (unicode) filenames allows you to get around this.

The new version of the FileZilla client (3.16.1) has a lingering system tray notification which hangs around even after the program is closed. When the files have successfully transferred I see the notification message, but the icon never disappears. Unlike #10803 though, I only see the message once.

I logged into my site with FileZilla. I scrolled down in my root level to delete a cPanel backup and when I used the contextual menu (right-click) on Mac and chose "Delete" it started deleting all sorts of stuff within seconds, consecutively. My .htaccess is gone (dammit) and a few other files as shown below in a copy/paste of the FTP transfers info, which really, really pisses me off that I have to now take 30 minutes or more to put backed up files back in place, not good at all and NO, I did not have any of those files that got deleted selected, just look at the timestamps, too much going on in seconds for it to be me and it started jumping into other folders before I quickly quit the app and restarted it:

Although I checked some files' permission on the server are all set to 644, files sometimes just couldn't upload and refresh on the server side. Can only directly edit on the server side files instead, or close and reopen the app, then it will start to "accept" the upload and the server side files are refreshed.

FileZilla's Shell Extension on Windows 10 AU Build 14393 causes Explorer.exe to either hang or crash when creating or renaming folders through the normal context menu method (right click, new folder/rename). This oddly only happens on the second folder and for all subsequent attempts until Explorer process is terminated manually or restarts on its own after crash. Steps to replicate: On desktop, or in explorer folder window, right click, create new folder. (First folder creates fine.) Create another folder via same method, Explorer hangs/crashes. Same thing with rename functionality of an existing folder.

I have verified this by disabling FileZilla's shell extension and subsequently experiencing expected outcome of folder creating without lag/hang/crash. Unfortunately, with FileZilla's SE disabled, I can no longer drag files from FileZilla to the desktop directly.

Hi, so I use FileZilla Pro, for a few years actually, and today when I opened the program and hit ctrl + s for the Site Manager I get basically a clear screen/dashboard.

Haven't seen this before, in fact, I've not ever had an issue with FileZilla Pro, that's why I use it.

I've tried to get access to our S3 bucket through an http proxy which has username and password restrictions. The debug shows that the connection to the proxy host is being established, but after the 407 response that an authentication is required, the attept failes with "ECONNRESET" - and I don't have a clue why. The user name and password are correct so I assume that this is a kind of misunderstanding between FileZilla Pro and the squid proxy server.

I'm noticing an interesting issue that I believe may be a bug.

When I attempt to upload a file, or several files, to the server where the website is located, the files will not appear in the Remote Site window.

At first, I thought that I had done something incorrect, so I just tried to upload a single file. Interestingly, when I did that, the file briefly appeared in the Remote site window, then disappeared. I tried it several times with that file and it repeated: the file would appear briefly in the Remote Site window, then disappear.

If I log into my cPanel on the server and view the files, that file, and the others that are not appearing in the Remote Site window within FileZilla, are indeed there. For some reason they are not appearing in the FileZilla Remote Site window.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but the files are .jpg image files.

If you need additional information, please let me know.

Currently the FileZilla client does not trust any certifcate presented by the server even if it is signed by a Root CA.

FileZilla client should use the local certificate store (on Windows, Mac and Linux) to decide if a Root CA can be trusted and thus if the server's certificate can be trusted.

The user should not have to be bugged in the case a trust chain is already established.

This is espacially annoying when the server's certificate is renewed. Suddenly FileZilla client tells the user that the certificate is untrusted. In the end the user is confused resulting in support calls and frustration.

When I try to download the latest version of FileZilla Client for MacOS I get a broken link.

Hi, Previously when we put the system on hibernate and reuse next day, the filezilla normaly keeps entertaining the edited files and we could keep using the connected servers. But after upgrading to last few latest versions, filezilla no more entertains the opened files, like normally if I edit and save the file on editor, the filezilla instantly asks if I want to replace the file on server, but now it abandons the last days edited files. Moreover, if I retry to edit any file from the previous day connected server, It does nothing and to make it work, I have to shutdown and reopen a new component of filezilla. I am not sure if its a bug or a new feature added. Please confirm.

on a web page or in an email would invoke Filezilla, open the site and position to the folder.

This has been going on for several releases now and apparently no one has reported it. The client will lose the server connection as normal / expected after a period of elapsed time with no activity. However, the client no longer remembers that state. When you try to change folders, it waits a long timeout period before it discovers that the server is not connected and displays an error message. Only then, when again trying to change folders, does it reconnect and change to the requested folder.

It seems to me that the client should remember when the server is disconnected and do the reconnect automatically when an action is taken; like changing folders. Essentially, it is not my problem the client did not remember the server connection was automatically closed. :) The program used to remember the state of the server connection and reconnect when there was information from the server to get.

I work in an enterprise environment that requires Silent \ Unattended installs and uninstalls to be distributed via command line and SCCM.

Issue 1:

We have confirmed that the filezilla 3.x (32 and 64 bit) Silent Uninstall Command line fails to cleanly remove the application. BUT, it cleanly removes itself if run manually and users attend to the prompts.

They all seem to use the same uninstall Command Line & Registry Key Name :

• Command Line : "C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla FTP Client\uninstall.exe" /S

• Registry Key Name: HKLM\Software\..\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\FileZilla Client

Steps to confirm ...

1. "MANUAL\ATTENDED" Uninstall is successful
   1. Install any FileZilla 3.x and restart the machine
   2. Uninstall filezilla via Add Remove programs (Controls Panel\Programs & Features)

2. "SILENT \ UNATTENDED" Uninstall FAILs
   1. Install any FileZilla 3.x and restart the machine
   2. Uninstall filezilla via the command line : "C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla FTP Client\uninstall.exe" /S

Issue 2:

Also, one of my clients had a previous 64bit version installed but then needed the 32 bit instead. It would appear that the 32 installer is installing as 64 bit - this DOES NOT occur if x64 was NOT previous installed on a system.

Testing Steps to confirm ...

1. Uninstalled FileZilla_3.27.0.1_win64-setup_bundled.exe via command line : "C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla FTP Client\uninstall.exe" /S
2. Restarted the machine
3. Installed FileZilla_3.29.0_win32-setup.exe
4. This 32 bit installs itself in the "C:\program files (x86)" folder if there was not 64 bit installed before it; but this 32 bit installer is putting itself into the previous 64 bit folder "C:\Program Files" if the 64 bit was installed before.

From this last version i thinks it's been appared a little bug... i try to explain: I have a remote mini-pc (a Raspberry Pi2 whit osmc) on my lan have an ip 192.168.1.4.... sometime i need to edit some text config file on here (config.txt or check some log file etc etc). I use Notepad++ for internal editor...... i ever used it for editor and it's ever working.... for example: If i open the .log files the files it's been dowloaded in local temp file and after it's been opened on notepad++ like "on the fly" right ? If the log file it's been upgraded from Raspberry on Notepad++ this changed it's never been applied.... i need every time to re-download manually and reload manually. While in some older versions every about i re-open notepad++ if the file it's changed i obtain a pop-up suggest to me to re-load because the files it's changed locally and remotly...

On this last version this no more append.... I don't really know if it's a bug of filezilla. I have already ask on Notepad++ forum and somethings as say to me it's not a notepad++ bug..... at this point i try to ask here :)

After check the option FileZilla > Settings > Interface > Minimize to tray the program shows strange behavior, after minimize the tray icon is created but when you click in the tray icon the screen blink and the program turn unable to open again and there is no popup menu option when perform a left click on the filezilla tray icon. This situation force the user to kill the filezilla process.

When connecting to an Azure SFTP site, the file size is displayed wrong, showing only 28 bytes. However, in the column for owner/group, there's a 0 (a space) followed by what the true file size is.

If you proceed to download the file, the percent progress bar goes immediately to 100%, but it will sit there and download the full file size, shown in the wrong column.

I tried this on 2 different computers, a laptop running windows 10, and on a server running Server 2019.

I found that FileZilla 3.28.0 can't import settings from other PC's FileZilla.xml, both on Windows 10 Pro (version 10.0.15063).

How to reproduce it?

1) make some changes in Settings window, adjust Limit local ports to 1025 and 60000 for example.

2) select Files > Export... > Export Settings and export settings to FileZilla.xml

3) copy FileZilla.xml to another PC, select Files > Import... and select FileZilla.xml then check Settins to import settings.

4) restart FileZilla and you will see everything as default value.

It takes appx 3 minutes to get interface loaded if there are network drives present on the system. Further actions take even longer, and cause app to become non-responsive too.

Please refer to earlier ticket 1164. The problem still remains.

I believe that, at least for some time, Filezilla 3 did recognize VMS file types in spite of the version number being attached to the file (for example test.zip;3). There was displayed a "zip" icon in the remote file tree next to the filename, and the "auto" transfer mode did work.

This is no longer the case.

I have some files with names like %%A2^A20A20EED44%%news.inc.php (php smarty compiled template files), and I cannot add them to the queue by drag and drop. The file is just not added to the queue on drop. It can be added however through the context menu. Happens on both Win and Linux.

Last night was my first attempt to upload my files for my first website using FileZilla Client. It gave me a message that the upload was a success but when I go to my website there is nothing there. For 1 week and a half I have had a problem uploading detos to a server, when I upload files of more than 4 GB there are times that they give me errors and they don't end up uploading.

I have tried to re-install it and am still having the same problems.

During multiple file transfers, it would be good to know what type of file transfer is being used for each file. Can the window at the bottom of filezilla client that currently displays file transfer status (green bar etc.) also display a column with file transfer type for each file?

Please fix it once forever, because I can't waist 30 minutes each update in order to rewrite that table.

When we transfert files and some files are existing in the target, we can choise to overwrite or not if the source/target is more recent. But in the log window, we only know if the transfert is ok/ko, but we don't know what it did: replace or not ?

I suggest to add a column like :

• "copy" if the target is missing
• "replace" if the target is replaced
• "keep" if the file exist and it is not replaced

When attempting to drag and drop a zip file either directly to my desktop location or to a shared network drive in the tree structure, the transfer begins and proceeds smoothly to 46.3% complete and then stalls and retries. After the retry is intiated, it recognizes that the file already exists and prompts to select an action. Regardless of the action selected, the file will begin transferring again and consistently fails at 46.3%. I have attempted this transfer about 10 times.

"Drag and drops operation failed"

When you rename a file which contains two dots, for example test.file.txt the file selection does not work anymore. Let's say we have a file with the name test.file.txt and I rename it to hello.file.txt. This bug only occours when you click next to file with the mousecursor. Using the enter button does not give this problem.

Steps to reproduce:

1. On the "remote site" zone, right-click and choose "create directory"
2. Choose a directory name and click OK

Expected behaviour: The directory listing should be refreshed and the new directory should be shown with its permissions (drwxr-xr-x or whatever) and its owner/group.

If you right-click on it and choose file permissions, the current permissions should be shown (usually 755 which are the default permissions when a new folder is created)

Observed behavior: After the folder is created, the directory listing is refreshed and you see the new folder, but the permissions and owner/group are not shown.

If you right click on it and choose "file permissions", you can't see what its current permissions are: you see "xxx" instead of 755. If you manually refresh the directory listing (such as clicking the refresh button on top, or leaving and reentering the containing folder), then the file permissions are shown.

To recreate:

1. Click the arrow in either "local site" or "remote site" boxes.
2. Press up/down to select a previous path from your history.
3. Using only the keyboard (i.e. don't click in the box) type a different path, or press right add a subfolder to the path.

If you press Enter here the path will just disappear from the box, rather than opening the path you've typed in the box.

It seems that the file's name length is limited to tight. I have long file names support enabled in Windows (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\LongPathsEnabled=1)

I try to transfer game's saves from my PC to my Wii-U and very long files'names are concerned (using more than 128 characters).

FilleZilla client failed to open the file and so don't even send the STOR command.

I transferred the same files successfully using Cyberduck.

Well, I'm not sure if it's a FileZilla error or a server error; but as you can see in the attached image, the same file (Arabic name) was uploaded TWICE to the same path!

File listing in "External site" keeps refreshing/changing during transfer. This is awfully annoying since it:

a) isn't necessary at all. b) gets in the way of browsing the directories.

This is with v3.4.0 on XP

Hi there at Filezilla,

it would be nice to have an option to rename the existing file rather then the one being uploaded in the "File exists action" preferences.

Use case: I upload a modified .php file, but would like to keep the old version of that file for reference/backup.

At the moment to do this I have to rename the existing file by hand, which is rather tedious. Maybe the overwritten file could be named existing file name + the time and date when it was overwritten. Otherwise I guess just .backup or whatever will do. Thanks, Sascha
