When I save my web site I end up with many pages etc. being made ready to copy across.

Then I want to work on another page (on another web site) and when I load it the page is put at the very bottom of the list of items still being downloaded. I scroll to the very bottom but it seems that this page is "lost" there, pushed down and out of sight of the window by other pages being loaded.

I want to have a space underneath the last page so I can see it and right click it to change its priority so it will load now while the other pages from first action are still loading.

Webroot Antivirus software classified Filezilla/Contents/Frameworks Files as Threats. I have over-ridden this but any idea why it would do that please?

I am on Mac OSX Mojave with Filezille V. 3.45.1 When I have many apps open I use the keyboard shortcut "cmd + tab" to cycle through the apps to bring them to the front. For some reason Filezilla will not come to the front. I have to either minimize all other apps in front of it or click it's icon on the dock to bring it to the front.

In the Site Manager I used to be able to right click on "My Sites" and an "Export" link would appear ... which would allow me to save my FileZilla xml file under a different name.

Usually I do this with a date added to sites.xml in order to backup versions of my file.

But, now ... that doesn't work anymore. I rename the file .. but the new file never saves to my hard drive.

this is since the new mac osx update catalina. after edit of a download file it takes a long time until filezilla is uploading the file automatically!

Workflow: download a file - open in editor - save -> upload take a long response time

since a long time now the update window has a layout problem as seen in the attached pictures (German localization).

Until the last two updates Ctrl-V has always worked as a paste from a copy. I Connect to a system, find my parent directory, then select Create Directory and move to it. It still brings up the new path with NEW highlighted, but I have to use the mouse to paste. Ctrl-V no longer works. If I use Ctrl-V the dialog closes and nothing is created. I can still paste using the right mouse click paste.

The computer is running Windows 8.1 Pro (Chinese Traditional) FileZilla version 3.45.1 When File\Export is selected, the Export settings sub-window pops up, but it and FileZilla close quickly before any check boxes can be selected. The application must then be re-started.

Computer is kind of old, but hope this isn't relevant: IBM T60p Core 2 Duo T9500 with 8 GB RAM. If it matters, display is a 4:3.

Hi. I recently updated my Mac to Catalina (version 10.15) and now I get an error message when I try to run Filezilla (see attached). Thanks.

When I load path from a bookmark and hit the "refresh file and folder list" button the path of the "local site" immediately changes to "/Applications/" on my Mac. It had never been that way. When I open any other path without involving bookmarking the refresh works.

I purchased FZ via the "App Store" to be able to up and down load website files to and from my website host. When I look at my computers file system using Finder every this is straight forward - I can see everything and I know where most files are located. When I look at Local site on FileZilla I see a very strange set of folders which I cannot make any sense off. I assume you have a setting somewhere in FZ that makes all my directories visible.

FileZilla Pro is unable to connect to AWS S3 buckets that have conditional ListBucket permissions. The result is a 400 Bad Request.

I have a S3 bucket on which the ListBucket permission for my user is conditional with a string prefix, e.g.: {

The policy means that the user is only able to browse the top level of the bucket and the mysubdir folder, but not any of the other folders in there. The policy is confirmed as working, via the AWS CLI, AWS console and other 3rd party apps like "S3 Browser", "Cyberduck", etc.

When FileZilla Pro tries to connect to a bucket like this the result is: Response: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request and Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

I tried adding a remote directory in the connection config (eg /my-bucket/mysubdir) but that didnt help.

When we have portable version of filezilla, and when update is available, it is being installed as "installed" version.

the portable version should be updated within same portable forlder, without need to "install" on pc. fix it, for that reason till date, i am still switched to WinScp.

I've tried to get access to our S3 bucket through an http proxy which has username and password restrictions. The debug shows that the connection to the proxy host is being established, but after the 407 response that an authentication is required, the attept failes with "ECONNRESET" - and I don't have a clue why. The user name and password are correct so I assume that this is a kind of misunderstanding between FileZilla Pro and the squid proxy server.

Since last 3 versions of FileZilla i have noticed this bug which can be reproduced easily and with consistency

1. In your local machine. Select multiple folders that have sub folders upto 3 levels and have files in them
2. Upload them in remote server using FileZilla.
3. Once the cycle is finished successfully check if all files have transferred.

Result: In FileZilla all files will show under "Successfully Transferred" tab. But on server some files will still be missing randomly.

We found this out while releasing .net based application on google cloud server and since last 3 versions this bug appeared, .net application crashed randomly and upon checking we found some files were missing, so i checked in detail - i had the files in local folder, but they were missing in remote folder.

We even tried repeating the upload cycle multiple times and each time some missing files would get uploaded but still some files remained.

To overcome this issue now we are zipping the entire folder and uploading them - but then this approach requires access to terminal to complete the release process.

Hello, I run a Minecraft server and I use filezilla to edit and upload files to my server. My FileZilla, however, won't update the server files. I see that all files were edited on 9/20/19 but we have edited files yesterday. Whenever I try to edit a file, the changes are not saved. Please help.

We are trying to configure our sftp server from a ftp server and we are having some problems with folders transfers.

When we try to upload a new folder (with content) to the SFTP server , and Filezilla needs to create the directory we receive an error:

Error:/xxx/xxx.txt : open for write: no such file or directory Error: Transferencia fallida "

Looks like Filezilla is trying to move the files before create the directory, could be it possible?

FileZilla Client becomes unresponsive when a lot of files are uploaded or downloaded simultaneously. I can confirm that this is not a new issue - been having that for the past few years with different versions of OS X + FileZilla client versions + with different hardware. It seems to be related to the fact that how fast the log can update.

For example if I add 10000 big files to the queue and start to upload/download with 10 simultaneous connections, it's all good - mainly because the log is updated slowly due the time that it takes to finish transferring one file.

If I now take 10000 small files (let's say 1-300kb of size) and have 10 simultaneous connections processing the queue, the interface becomes unresponsive. It might react occasionally but usually it becomes responsive when the queue has run empty.

How I realised that it might be connected to the log: While the queue is running and app is unresponsive, when I do a right click on the log area and click on the "Clear all", the app becomes responsive for a while until the log clogs the application up again. If I clear the log while the queue is running and immediately clear it again and again, then the app stays responsive.

I have not noticed this behaviour on Ubuntu 16 or 18, so I'd guess it's a OS X specific issue.

We are using Filezilla from many years now, but from last few days files are getting minified after uploading through Filezilla version 3.46.0. We think it is happening from last two versions. Please send us a solution. It is to hectic to normalise the minified files one by one as it takes to much time. We checked with other FTP clients and different server, but its seems to be happening with Filezilla only. When I first open Filezilla and subsequently go to full screen (Mac mojave 10.14.6), I instead get a black screen. The screen will stay black unless I use "Mission Control" to exit full screen. Instead of returning back to the original free floating Filezilla window, the new window is about 1.5 inches wide. The only way to get the window to return back to a normal size is to return back to "Mission Control". From that point on, it works perfectly fine, and it seems to only happen the first time I try to go full screen.

If a site in site manager is unable to load the private key associated with the site (ie it is on an external drive that is not mounted) you cannot unselect that site. Everytime you try to select a different site you get an error message "Could not load key file - The file "xxx" could not be loaded or does not contain a private key". If the site is question is the very first one in the list it is selected by default which means site manager is unusable until the key is located.

Steps to reproduce: Create a new site which loads an SSH private key file from an external drive. Unmount that drive. Open site manager, select the site in question, get error message. Try to select any other site, you keep getting the error message and cannot select the new site.

We have a specific site that has successfully used a private key with a passphrase for over 2 years. With 3.46.1, when I try to connect to the site, it no longer asks for the keyphrase, which has always been required, and subsequently the connection fails authentication.

During investigation, I also received errors when look at the site config. The errors related to the private key file. Unfortunately I did not do a screen capture of the error as I needed to access the site asap.

I reverted back to 3.46.0 and immediately everything went back to normal. When connecting to the site the key passphrase was prompted for and once entered I was able to connect to the site with no issue.

when downloading a larger file, fzsftp.exe creates hundreds and thousands of Windows events.

Here's the simple fix for the do_select function, around line 545 of winsftp.c:

netevent = CreateEvent(NULL, false, false, NULL);

I have submitted this fix to the PuTTY project also, but I am unsure if they will read my email.

I updated to the latest version. When I connected and tried to send a large file to a place I always do, it just sits there with the word "Transferring". I have tried several large files and it is the same. Everything was fine before I updated to the latest version.

Is there anyway of going back a version?

I opened FileZilla today 12/30/19 and an update popped up, so updated to the latest version. Then I connected and tried to upload a 1gb file like I do weekly. It says "Transferring" for 20 seconds a then times out. I have tried several times and it is the same. Everything was fine before I updated to the latest version today.

Info.plist needs to be updated for the macOS app to reflect FileZilla's latest (3.46.3) system requirements, which is 10.13.2

I use a Mac, although the company LAN is Windows-based. There are several shared servers on the LAN, one of which contains our local site.

If I have not previously connected to the local server from Finder, Synchronized Browsing will fail in FileZilla. What I mean by fail is - when I open the Site Manager, select a bookmarked folder within the site, and click "Connect", the remote site's files are shown on the right, but the local site file path on the left remains stuck at the Mac's home folder.

The only way to prevent this is to manually connect to the local site server by navigating to one of its folders in Finder first, before attempting to connect with FileZilla. It seems that FileZilla is unable to initiate a connection, only look for an existing connection. And no user feedback is given to indicate when connection to the local site server is unsuccessful or why.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Connect to server
2. view/edit a file and again upload it on file change prompt.
3. disconnect to the server (ctrl + d)
4. edit an already opened file in the editor and save it
5. switch to FileZilla client
6. Filezilla will prompt to upload changes to the server
7. Click on Yes
8. The file is uploaded to the server

I got website who stored in Filezilla, and since the morning the site is unavailable. I've checked the server (in heroku) and it works perfect. I got copy of the files on my localhost and i can reach the website from there (locally). This website has a lot of users and it is very important to fix this issue as soon as possible.. (I can't also connect to my account on filezilla - where i upload files) the site is - tiroche.co.il. Please help me!

Steps to reproduce:

• connect to a server
• navigate to a folder on the server where you have at least a few files; let's say they are called "file1", "file2", ..., "file6" and they are sorted alphabetically
• click on file1 (file1 gets selected)
• Ctrl+Click on file3 (now file1 and file3 are selected)
• Ctrl+Shift+Click on file6

Expected: Now file1 and files 3 to 6 should be selected. In other words, Ctrl+Shift+Click should add all files between the previously selected ones and the clicked one to the current selection.

Observed: Only file1, file3 and file6 are selected, as if I had ctrl+clicked on file6 without holding the Shift key

The expected behavior of ctrl+click, shift+click and ctrl+shift+click is a universal well-established convention in both Windows and Linux and if I'm not mistaken also Mac with some variation (perhaps cmd instead of ctrl). It's been literally years since the last time I've stumbled upon some application that doesn't adhere to it.

after upgrading filezilla pro to version 3.46.3 if I select Create new directory and enter it, a dialog box opens (as expected). deleting the string 'New directory' by pressing backspace works ok (as expected) pressing command+v results in the create directory dialog to be closed, without creating the new directory (NOT expected)

My FileZilla has just updated itself to the latest version but the drag and drop facility isn't working which means that I can't use Filezilla for what I need it to do. I have a huge client client who has come to a grinding halt because I can't access this functionality.

I was thinking this would get fixed, but the last few versions have been like this. Could the Create Directory box be put back to the way it was - much larger, so you can see the directories you're creating?

If file is present but zero length, i.e. a previous upload failed just after file creation but before any content, it fails:

Instead of restarting at 0, instead it seems to try and do an overwrite but it can't because it can't delete the file. Deleting files being denied by design. Maybe it thinks, "it's zero length, I might as well do the overwrite thing". In this situation there is no way to resolve from client side.

Hi, for years now, it is impossible in Filezilla to paste text inside text fields using CMD-V.

What's more, CMD-V actually creates a new favorite and it's a pain in the axe at this point, as clicking outside alerts "Invalid Data", Esc doesn't work, etc. That's another issue.

Seems that CTRL-V works inside Filezilla but doesn't even use macOS clipboard. And is not Mac standard, of course.

Thus, it is very hard to do such a basic thing as creating a new Site (host, password etc) in the manager.

Sorry if I sound a bit upset, I shouldn't, it's only years of mute frustration coming out :D

After check the option FileZilla > Settings > Interface > Minimize to tray the program shows strange behavior, after minimize the tray icon is created but when you click in the tray icon the screen blink and the program turn unable to open again and there is no popup menu option when perform a left click on the filezilla tray icon. This situation force the user to kill the filezilla process.

Expected action: Able to minimize the program to tray icon running fedora 31 Cinnamon.

(All others programs like telegram, skype, steam go to tray without problems.)

I have used FileZilla for years, but the latest update seems to have locked me out. It will say I am logged in, but then say "Retrieving directory listing" for a long time, and then it times out and says "Failed to retrieve directory listing."

The server i'm trying to access is sftp1.wolterskluwer.com using SFTP-SSH File Transfer Protocol and a Normal logon type.

I found an error in "Create a new file"! When you open "Create a new file", then you see that it has the wrong window size!

I have tried specifying the ASCII editor (EditPlus), putting in the verified location, and selecting Use system's default editor for text files. In both cases, when I select a text file from either the local or remote file list, I get an error (attached). The actual location of the editor is "c:\program files\editplus 3\editplus.exe", but FileZilla is adding a whole bunch of extra characters (see attached). Help!!!

Am getting the standard message "Error: A certificate in the chain was signed using an insecure algorithm Error: Received certificate chain could not be verified. Verification status is 2." from a site that, up until 24 Feb 2020, was passing files. How do I fix this? I need to update the website I'm working on, and the ISP claims there's nothing wrong from their end. Thank you for your assistance.

Sometimes when opening Filezilla, it will place itself in such a way that it cannot be used or dragged into a usable part of the screen. See attached screenshot.

On MacOSX, when creating a new local folder in the left-most pane, the bug forces you to go up a level.

Example: if I'm on /Users/James/Desktop/ and create a folder called "Test", it will automatically take me to /Users/James/

Hello Guys! Briefly, having a folder already selected (server side), without the interrogation, when clicking it does not reload and gives the following error:

Erro: FATAL ERROR: Network error: Software caused connection abort Erro: Falha na obtenção da lista de pastas (translated:Failed to get folder list)

It is necessary to click on another folder and return to the desired folder for it to reload normally. It seems like a silly thing, but it's kind of boring to have to do this process.

If you Ctrl+Backspace on the directory bar, it adds a little symbol instead of removing the word.

I have a small local server, and I send content from my machine to remote server (my computer act as a bridge between, production and local dev plataform).

But, when I set the local standard folder as a remote folder, the list of local content not refresh (if I simply hit ENTER ok) or if I change from another folder and connect (expecting that local folder will be changed to standard local folder) nothing happen.

Here an example of configuration of my connnection:

When selecting path from pull-down menu in path input box, it does not show long path over the pane width.

Typically it happens when browsing with the "Blackboard" as "Layout of file and directory panes" setting.

Ends of each path are more important than head because it is always "C:
" . It is useless when selecting from drop-down menu. If system component does not support wider, it may ok to abbreviate path like "C:
.... \myproj\public" for quick fix.

A couple of updates ago, I lost the ability to make the window very narrow, since i need to have it open along side an internet window. I am on a windows 7 computer. The window won't let me drag close from right to left but top to bottom works

I have come across a weird issue: FileZilla will open normally, but I am unable to connect to any FTP or fully close the program. By testing many released versions, I was able to track the starting point to version 3.36.0-rc1.

In version 3.36.0-rc1, FileZilla will start normally, and as soon as I try to connect to any FTP server, it will go to about 25-30% constant CPU usage on my quadcore CPU, and never finish connecting. I am unable to stop the connection attempt (the disconnect button is clickable but does nothing), and when I quit the program, the window will disappear, but it's still running in the background, still stuck at 30% CPU until I kill it via the task manager. From the server side, a connection attempt is seen and reaches "234 Using authentication type TLS" but then just stays there until the client is killed.

In version 3.47.2.1 (currently latest) the behavior is slightly different in that the high CPU usage starts right when FileZilla is launched, but other than that the problem presents itself identically to version 3.36.0-rc1.

Version 3.35.2 works just fine, and every version after this is affected by the problem. The problem has persisted through all OS updates since 3.36.0-rc1 was released back in 2018.

Looking at the changelog of the first version that shows the error, these are the official changes:

• Ask for explicit confirmation prior to falling back to insecure plaintext FTP if a server refuses to use TLS

• Warn if an FTP server refuses TLS that is known from previous connections to be capable of TLS

These changes don't look to me like they'd be related to the issue, so I assume that there has been some under the hood change that didn't make it into the changelog.

Newly we have the problem that we cannot connect to one of our FTP servers anymore. In the FileZilla log we get the following error lines:

After having some mailing with the data center admin we found that adding the line...

TLSOptions NoSessionReuseRequired

...to our FTP server system solved the problem and we were able again to connect to this server.

We tried several other FTP clients (SmartFTP, WinSCP) and none of them had this problem with this FTP server, only FileZilla. Additionally we tested FileZilla client on about five other Windows systems - on every system the same problem occurs.

Now we think it should be possible to connect with FileZilla without having to disable this security feature (TLSOptions NoSessionReuseRequired) in the FTP server system.

When displaying any dialogue box (e.g. Settings, Site Manager), there is a lag of 3-5 seconds after making any selection within them, including Ok and Cancel.

This is not occurring in the main window.

This is not new; it has been occurring for a long time in FileZilla (> 1 year). I'm on macOS 10.14.6. (No other app behaves this way.)

I used to be able to connect to my sftp server and now I can't with a strange error message:

Error:	The first host key type supported by the server is ssh-rsa, which is no longer secure. Aborting connection.

I tried switching the server to use a ecdsa host key and I got the error message:

Error:	The first host key type supported by the server is ecdsa-sha2-nistp521, which is no longer secure. Aborting connection.

I just discovered the SSL private Key password is left unencrypted in the settings files (FileZilla Server.xml)

This is a big security issue has anyone can stole the key...

Synchronized browsing no longer works, although it is set in the account. After the warning that follows I can use CMD Y to set up the synchronization.

I'm using notepad++ as an text editor and edit files using filezilla. I keep my windows open for days/weeks, so i keep notepad++ and filezilla open for all that time. I also put my computer to hibernate each day.

Randomly, on notepad++ i see that some of the edited files are not existing anymore. I checked on the temporary folder and indeed they are not there anymore. I had this issue for years, i think even on another computer

The sizes of the directory trees keep reverting to default after few days. It doesn't happen every time, for example if I just close FileZilla and then open it up again.

By downloading files from Service Provider to local PC FileZilla stops writing to local harddisk. Big files (I copied a file of 19GB) are going well, but the download of my Joomla website (a lot of small files) breaks off. I tried it several times in several days. My Service Provider tested it for me and had the same problem. His advice: wait for a FileZilla update. I did this copy activity a lot of times before without problems. Now I used -for the time being- WinSCP (but slow!). Hope you will find the bug and solve it.

Although I checked some files' permission on the server are all set to 644, files sometimes just couldn't upload and refresh on the server side. Can only directly edit on the server side files instead, or close and reopen the app, then it will start to "accept" the upload and the server side files are refreshed.

I have noted previous responses to this from some years ago. I have successfully used filezilla with my server us.cloudlogin.co for about six years. Now, very occasionally, a directory maybe successfully opened and a file transfer made but very unreliably. Maybe one command out of ten will be successful with no apparent pattern. I have transferred the "filezilla" settings from the server directly as well as using manual settings with no difference. I used the wizard to ensure connection was potentially appropriate.

This issue happens intermittently, this happens:

• only for some folders on mounted CIFS shares
• only sometimes: same folders can be accessed one moment but become unreachable a minute later
• only in "Local site" view: at the same time client successfully continues downloads in the same folder and can Import/Export configurations from/to the same folders

I haven't been able to find reflection of error in any of the logs: /var/log/messages, kern.log, syslog, built-in Filezilla Logging from the Settings does not have any traces.

When I double-click a file, two edit windows are opened in my default editor, Komodo IDE 12. The first window shows the desired file, but the second window shows a blank.

Opening another file with Komodo already running opens a new tab in Komodo as expected.

I connected via FTP to my NAS to transfer around 10,000 files. I observed a series of error messages about a second connection failing after the transfers started, however, I had already initiated the entire folder copy. After being complete, over 2,400 files had not copied due to an unspecified error. So, I tried again. The same number of files failed to transfer. So, I adjusted the number of FTP connections from 2 to 1. Then, all of the files copied successfully. I changed nothing else. I think that this circumstance causes file transfers to fail repeatedly. There is a work-around, as stated.

file type association /application/Vorschau.app returns an error (not found), although app exists

The filetype associations are not keeping their settings in Filezilla 3.48.0 on macOS Catalina 10.15.4.

I am noticing extra characters being placed on one or more entries, making it not possible to right click on a file and use the "view/edit" option.

Also, if I want to highlight an entry and use Command-C and Command-V to quickly add more entries, this is buggy. The entire window closes when trying to do this.

Since the previous version and also with 3.48.1, once updated all the fiel associations are LOST! Which is always a dramatic story,

Please fix it once forever, because I can't waist 30 minutes each update in order to rewrite that table.

When you update Filezilla via the window that appears whilst using it, the content inside the "Custom filetype associations" textbox is sometimes lost. This has happened to me twice within the last month. When it first happened, I slowly repopulated it there and then but the most recent update has erased them again. I have not changed any settings recently that will affect this.

I wish I can provide steps to replicate this, however this doesn't happen on every update.

I uploaded modified files from Local to Remote Site/Website as before but this time the changes do not appear in my Website on the Internet.

If I use Quick Connect FileZilla reports that I am connected,

However, if I retype the Host, Username and Password, files are transferred without any problems.

I have uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, with the latest 64 bit version 3.48.1, but the error is the same.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The Filezilla client automatic update feature suggested there was a new version today, so I allowed the process to continue. Once the automatic update completed, I checked the "Custom filetype associations" in Settings and found that it was empty. This happened on the last update, so I had saved a copy of the custom associations before allowing the update to proceed and was able to recover.

This is similar to bug report 5599 filed 10 years ago. No manual entry of verbs was required. Everything, including my recovery was done via point an click with the mouse. Custom file associations worked before the update, so this is not a use entry issue.

On May 25 I updated Filezilla to newest version. Since then using the same settings as always, Filezilla reports that certificates are unknown and cannot be verified. The notification screen allows no options. I deleted Filezilla and reloaded it from the Filezilla server with no resolution. I am providing information in the attached files, including the notifications for server, intermediate and root certificates, the Filezilla log and my recent Windows updates. I am unable to FTP and am unsure if this is the fault of Filezilla or not.

The menu option for timestamp preservation is greyed out when transferring from a google shared drive to the local drive. I can transfer files but the dates shown are the transfer dates not the original modification date from google drive. I am using the pro version.

Hi, the 10th icon from the left on the toolbar, the icon one has to click to restore the last connection from the previous session (It has a tiny vertical rectangle with two blue horizontal lines above, and a green tick mark below) looks always grey / inactive on my screen (in contrast the similar icon to the left of it which has an "X" instead of a tick mark), even when it actually is active and works perfectly fine. Not important but just a little odd.... Otherwise I'm a super grateful user!

On May 30 I updated Filezilla to version 3.48.1 using the same settings as always. Whenever I attempt to connect to a server, Filezilla reports "Remote certificate not trusted". The notification screen shows the "Trust" options at the bottom but they are grayed out and I'm not able to select an option. Clicking on "Okay" allows access to the server, but the warning keeps popping up. I have reinstalled Filezilla and the issue still remains. Attached is a screenshot of the warning popup.
